My style is mostly pop/rock... I had a strat I was using, and boy, the Bluesbird does EVERYTHING the strat doesn't do. My chain right now is Bluesbird p90 - Korg DT10 Tuner - Ibanez UE305 Multi Effects Box (with Ibanez 9 series compressor, analog delay, analog chorus) - Vox Valvetone, Ibanez Turbo Tubescreamer - Mesa Boogie DC5 combo (1 x 12). The sounds I am getting I cannot put into words -- beautiful.
The P90s sometimes buzz, not as much as strat single coils.
The overall sound of the Bluesbird p90 to me is like a 70's Les Paul... but warmer. It has a chambered body so it resonates really nicely and that coupled with the p90s gives a warm, creamy, thick tone.
I like the bridge pickup for most stuff -- it has the midrange I've always dreamed of!

Guitar plays perfectly. Wouldn't change a thing regarding the action. It was missing a knob when I bought it... big deal. I'll give it a 9 in this section just cause it was missing the knob.

Everything seems very solid, however, just got the thing, haven't played live with it yet.

I've been playing guitar 10 years. I also own an American Standard Strat, and a Taylor 422 acoustic. If this guitar were stolen... I'd cry and cry. Because I'll NEVER find it for that price again... they are out of production, and they're going for about $1000 USED on eBay. So... don't steal it.

This is a note on cases.
If you buy one of these without a case you will have a difficult time finding one.
It will not fit in a Les Paul case and most archtop cases are too big.
After months of searching and buying 2 cases that do not fit I settled on an SKB case for a Gibson ES-335.
Not an exact fit but it's close.
I added a little padding to the sides and it fits snugly.
My biggest complaint on this guitar is the case situation.
I gig and jam often and a hard case is a must.
Remember if you buy one of these guitars be sure it comes with a hard case.
Otherwise a beautiful guitar.

I bought the guitar used on the way to a gig.
Played for 4 hours and went and played at another gig.
It got a good workout.
Everything from clean jazz to slightly overdriven blues to distorted hard rock.
I have been playing a Telecaster as my main axe.
The differences are monsterous.
The Bluesbird has at least twice the output of the Telecaster.I play through an 80's Marshall half stack (EL-34 tubes).
The amp is biased for the most clean headroom.
Played clean it has a woody sound.
Much like an L-5 archtop.
Switch to the bridge pickup and it sounds almost acoustic.
Turn the volume up and it gets creamy distortion.
Turn it up on the bridge pickup with treble turned up and it will scream!
Excellent sustain at any volume.
P-90's are a little noisy but nothing to worry about.
You can get a vast variety of sounds by adjusting volume, tone and switching pickups.
I do not use any effects.
It has a wide neck that took about 30 seconds to get used to.
The neck seems short compared to a Fender neck.
Scale is 24 3/4.
As for sound.
I have never played anything like it.
Any sound you want.
Just dial it in.

Been playing over 30 years.
Can't compare it with any one other guitar.
Not much more I can say.
Fantastic guitar.
Getting harder to find.
I may never want another guitar.
This one does it all.
