This was made in 93/94 limited edition of Brian May guitar replicas, in the USA. It has 24 frets, with an unique "0 fret" that makes this guitar very particular, and it's not just for that, the playing at the 0 - 1 frets is very different from other guitars. It has 3 on - off pick ups controls, plus 3 phase in - out controls for each mic. The Seymour Duncan "Brian May" pickups are really powerful. It has an unique style of design, made by Brian, and totaly different from most guitars. It has one volume control too, and a tone control, both work excelent. It also included a beautiful case, where she sleeps safe. It doesn't have a vibrato (that's not included on the Special edition, but on the Signature) and that's why there's not a ten here...

It matches perfect in my rock, classic, and every music style. A fully of sustain sound, always clear, always nice. I'm using a Vox AC 15 amp, and Boss Harmonyst. I'll also suggest a Treble Booster for it. That will make you feel the sustain of a clean sound even with a distortion, it's hard to explain, as it sounds crazy, but if you ever listened to Brian May or most of Queen's stuff, you'll now what i mean.
The variety of sounds is impressive, blues, rock, heavy methal, ballads, everything can be played with a huge and real difference when you play with the settings. The best part of the guitar, absolutely sure at all.

The guitar is very well finished, looks like a real luthier's made one, with precision. Again, another great fact of it.

The guitar is very very very reliable. I can say that playing 1 hour a day, i just had to tune it a very few times. It does never losts it's way... The bad, when you play live, if you brake a string, you can't keep playing, all the 5 strings left will be untuned...
Also, it's kind of harder to play for some guitarrists on this, as it's neck is more like an acoustic one. You have to play it for a long time to be happy with it. Then, you'll feel that the harder, was better than the easier, because you'll have more control of your left hand, absolutely

Just that it's a shame that the vibratto isn't there... the signature has a very special one, with a never detuning system...
It's a special item, for collectors, Brian May/Queen fans, or people with a few bucks that are really waiting for a great guitar to buy

This is a '94 Brian May "Special" model. The Special differs from the more expensive Signature model in that it lacks the vibrato system designed by Brian and his dad, having a stop tailpiece instead. Also, the middle pickup is moved right next to the bridge pickup, so that it almost looks like a humbucker. In all other respects, this guitar is just like the Signature: 24 frets, three Seymour Duncan made copies of the Burns Tri-Sonic pickups in Brian's guitar, on/off switches for each pickup, in/out of phase switches for each pickup, one volume, one tone, "sound cavities", etc., etc..

This guitar has that same amazing yet unique sound. Beautiful tone that you just can't get out of a Strat. And the range of different tones (from the raging, full bore of all three pickups on and in-phase, to the screech of the neck pickup out of phase with the middle and bridge pickup) is beyond most other guitars.

The neck on this guitar is slimmer than the Signature models I have. Very playable. The finish is a matte clearcoat. As this guitar was actually a prototype (made for the '94 NAMM show), the routing for the moved middle pickup was done by hand (possibly with a drill and chisel), but it was done at the factory, and before the finish was applied. Other than that, no real flaws -- a very pretty guitar.

I've used this guitar live on many occasions as a backup or different tuning guitar. No problems, whatsoever. However, I do tend to treat this one with kid gloves...
