In my opinion, this is one of the finest 6 sting flat top acoutics I have ever owned. Tight grained wood, fine inlay, ebony everywhere, and even the original case was bulletproof.
On state, this baby cannot be beat for conservative looks and feel. Since I bought it new, and it was #5 out of the 280 unit series, I can tell you that it has seen the country. I have only had to replace the frets about once a year -- other than that -- it requires little upkeep.
If you get the chance, get one -- no matter the price -- you will not regret it !!!

Right out of the case, still in the wrapper, it sounded great -- which is the only reason to buy a guitar. Sorry, but no real picker/performer buys for looks, unless of course you can't really play.
Tone is excellent, volume for a wooden box is amazing, and it is the only studio guitar I use. Nothing else I have played comes close. Hoever, I use medium gauge, not the light. This makes a world of difference in the tonal qualities.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action was made for a flat picker -- low and clean.
Fit and finish -- like a racer. After 21 years of professional use, the finish is like a mirror.
The machines are still like butter, and it will hold a tune for nearly 3 full sets withour any problems.
Reliability/Durability

As I said earlier, I was there when the guitar arrived -- right out of the case and into my hands.
After 21 years of road and studio use, it is still as solid as when I first held it. However, as with great wine, it gets better with age.
Customer Support

No Opinion
As we all know, Guild is no longer in business. Again, I have never had a need for repairs or warranty work.
Overall Rating

My only regret is that I did not have Guild build a matching 12 string when I bought the D-70 NT.
Now that would have been a rush !!!!
A great guitar value no matter what the cost -- better than any Martin or Gibson I have had the pleasure to own or play.
