This guitar is not the most decorated acoustic you will see out there, but it does have some nice touches. The finish is a nice finish, but not too thick as that it hurts the sound. The body is very well proportioned and the cutaway is just deep enough to fret the higher frets. The neck itself is wonderful, and is very easy to play, yet no buzzing occurs. Also, it is very comfortable on the hands, and barre chords are less of a challenge. Also, the wood binding is a nice touch, and nice to see someone doing something than the typical white or black binding. I do have to say the same from the pearl inlays on the fretboard.

Sound : 10
The sound, oh the sound is perfect. As it was stated in the description when I read it, the bass, treble, and middle are completely in line with each other. They all ring together perfectly. You also don't have to strum hard to get a loud sound out of it. And it is such a punch, that if you sit down with it and really rock out, you swear there is a soundhole on the back of the body. There is nothing to complain about the fullness and punch of the sound in this guitar.

Plus with the Fishman Acoustic Matrix pickup in it works great with the Fishman Aura (which for serious guitarists, I highly support on getting one), just like if I was in front of my $300 Nady studio mic.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is not low, but still it is very comfortable to play. I do not have the longest fingers, and I am so surprised at how easy it is to play. The finish and everything else, 100% in perfect. Not a scratch on it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I can already tell this guitar will be with me for many long years to come. The few times I have knocked it against something, or bumped into something else, it holds up wonderfully. This guitar is a workhorse guitar. Worthy of the studio and the stage.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I can't say anything about Guild, because I don't deal with them. I only deal with my local guitar shop. It's only in my town, and they have been there for me from the very beginning. I rely on them for all my guitar work, and for getting me this guitar.

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar is fantastic. The quality is the same as if you got the D-40 that is made in the states. I cannot say anything negative about this guitar at all. I recommend it to everyone who wants a great guitar for serious music. Also, if you don't want to dump out the big bucks for a high quality Guild, Martin, Taylor, or Gibson, go for the Guild GAD models, and I suggest the GAD-40CE.

This is one of the most beautiful sounding acoustics I've heard yet, nice rich, sweet, even full sound. Sounds amazing whether using a pick or finger picking or thumb strumming that I love doing. I'm generally don't hammer my guitars so can't really tell you how it sounds when played hard.
Unplugged the guitar is loud with a strong presence.
Some friends have commented that this guitar has amazing sustain which I have to agree with.
Overall one of the best sounding acoustic guitars I've heard yet, whether plugged or unplugged. The Fishman Matrix 1 is a beautiful pickup if you're going to plug in.
Since I bought this guitar I won't look at another brand, in the future I'll be looking at buying a jumbo and you can be sure it'll be a Guild, simply got spoiled with the tone. I also fell in love with a Guild D55 at the local music store and she's just waiting for me to go down and put a deposit, it is the most beautiful playing and sounding guitar I've ever had the pleasure of playing or trying out.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
No flaws that I could see in the workmanship.
When I first got it I thought about maybe lowering the action just a touch, but since I've been playing it for a while now I've actually come to really like the action on it. So I would have to say the action on it is nearly perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Well built, solid
I would use it without a backup, but I have a Dean just in case a string breaks (although I'm not a hard player so don't see that happening)

Haven't dealt with Guild directly. When I bought though there was an excessive hum especially when I place my hand on the saddle and really noticeable when going through a PA system. When I took it back the folks at L&M plugged it into an amp and they said "There's nothing wrong with it...goodbye" (Needless to say I won't be making any major purchases from them again). So I took it to Steve's Music(where the D55 is waiting for me to drag her home) and they did indeed find the problem. It was the sheilding on the pickup and they repaired it and no more hum. Certainly isn't Guild's fault.

I've been playing steady and serious now for three years.
Got all kinds of other gear too much to list here. Basses, electrics, drums
I should mention the GAD40CE sounds amazing through my Danelectro pedals although I haven't used the pedals at church yet but I will. I do almost always run it through an ART Studio V3 tubepreamp which is nice, but as I mentioned before she sounds beautiful plugged straight.
This guitar is perfect in my mind, nothing I would change about it.
I love the tone (plugged or unplugged) and the feel, the chords just melt in your hands. There's no control pad for the elctronics (Matrix 1 natural) which is a good thing in my mind. No batteries to change and aestetically beautiful with no effect on the tone unplugged.
If it was lost or stolen, I'd quickly grab my insurance or get my insurance company to get me another ASAP.
As I mentioned before got spoiled by the Guilds and won't look at another will definitely buy another Guild (D55 and a Jumbo).
For the price this guitar is amazing.
