This beauty was made in 1959 in Chicago with a sunburst finish, movable bridge, 20 or 21 frets(I don't have the guitar with me), those tuners that are exposed and have a single gear, two f-holes on the sides, and it has a musical notation sign on the headsock with Monterey in kickass letters on the headstock too. When I got it, it had a big crack on the back and the action was about two inches but I fix it myself. It looks like its made of spruce and rosewood on the fretboard. This guitar came with a pickguard and possibly a pickup and a knobs, but I am not sure. If it did, then it could be electric. I may never know. This guitar is rare.

It sounded like shit when I first got it, but I got used to it. I mean it suits me. I doesn't sound like a Martin (HELL NO!) and it doesn't even sound like an economical asian import, yet it has its own sound, kinda like comparing Bob Dylan with Freddy Mercury on singing talent. I like it for the blues and honkytonk/folky style that I love to play. Plus, the way it looks perfectly fits the music that I play.

The setup was made long ago 'bout '59, so that setup changed with time. Flaws, and more flaws plague this guitar and I wouldn't have it any other way. This guitar has scars that tell stories and a raspy voice that probably came from too many cigarettes and drinking whiskey.

Its been around since 1959, about 26 years older than I. I believe it will outlast me!

Been playing for four years and I love this guitar. People always want to buy it from me 'cause it looks so damn cool. It plays shitty, sounds shitty, and looks used and abused, howevever, it plays the blues like it sounds on old 45's and I love that.
