This is a 3/4 sized Harmony Stella from 1972-1975, made in the U.S.A. Not sure of the woods used. The back appearl laminated, and the top has faux spruce grain imprinted on it, but in the light, you can see the wood grain of the hardwood used on the guitar. The neck is joined at the body at the 12th fret. It uses Harmony's 3-in-line tuning machines. Inlaid MOP looking fretboard markers. This guitar, unlike most other 3/4 sized Stellas, uses a glued and bolted on pinless bridge with an adjustable saddle, which is ebonized. Usual plastic strap button on the bottom only. As said, the top had faux spruce imprinted on the top, and the back, sides and neck are painted black, with white painted binding. Also, the neck is the typical wide Harmony neck, but I've grown to like that about Harmony guitars. It looks decent, and it is assembled very well though.

The sound is what you would expect from a 3/4 sized Harmony guitar. Not much at all in the bass area, but bright sounding. It does have better intonation than other 3/4 sized guitars I've played though, so that is a definatel plus. This doesn't suit my style of playing (bluegrass), but I purchased it as a travel guitar, and will suit my needs well.

I can't comment here since this guitar was purchased used. However, like other old USA made Harmony guitars, this one was built to take a beating, and still come back for more. Harmony, in my opinion, always did a great job building thier guitars here in USA.

As mentioned above, USA made Harmony guitars can withstand a beating and come back for more. You don't have to baby a Harmony for it to last, it can do that on it's own. The hardware is original to this guitar, and in almost 30 years, is still all in great shape. The neck does not need resetting, which is amazing to me. The finish on this guitar isn't perfect, but seeing as how a kid had their hands on it, it's great. This will be my travel guitar, and I expect no problems from it at all.

This is my travel guitar, and was purchased specifially for that reason. I have no complaints about this guitar, or any other USA made Harmony acoustic guitar for that matter. I had tried other travel guitars, and even owned one that I recently sold. This guitar blows all the other small scale guitars out of the water, as far as intonation. Besides, it's fun to play.
