A few blems in the finish, but very nice overall... excellent preamp system.. spruce top ebony back and sides..

Sound : 10
One of the best sounding guitars I have ever played... Ranks with the top martins, and sounds better to me than most taylors. Great tone sounds sooo good. I can't say enough about this model. If you pick one up, go to guitar center and compare it with guitars costing thousands more, this one will still out preform most of them...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action is excellent.. Plays like a dream right out of the box.

Reliability/Durability : 10
As far as I can tell it is holding up excellent.. No problems yet and I have been playing it almost everyday for 2 months..

don't know...

great guitar.. I have owned some very nice and expensive guitars and I rank this one above them all... Yes, above them all.. You will not be let down by the sound, look, and feel of this guitar.. My brother is a guitar player that has been on albums and live recordings, his usual guitar is a taylor 814ce.. When he came in for the holidays I let him test mine out... The verdict was the tone of the hohner was noticeably better that the 814 that he plays... Trust me this thing sounds great...

.This guitar has a great gloss finish over a solid spruce top,Striped ebony back and sides and maple bindng. Its a great combination visually and sonically(it sounds awsome unplugged). It has a Shadow P7 preamp attached to a shadow piezo that gives off as much tone as you'll ever need.

Sound : 10
The sound is what sold me.I put it up next to a Taylor of equal size with the same strings and the Hohner out did the Taylor hands down.Even the guy who owned the Taylor agreed.I have been asked twice now what kind of guitar I'm playing because they thought it sounded great plugged in.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action was low but without any buzzing at all.The dual truss rod was adjusted perfect from the start and I have had no tuning problems at all.The finish is a deep gloss with no flaws or blemishes and the inside of the guitar is just as clean.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I use this guitar for my live shows, recorcing or any other thing that I do and so far it has not let me down. The tuning keys are solid and keep it in tune perfectly.I can see this guitar staying in my collection for a long time.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had a problem with it.

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar has a very strong and clear tone that favors the sound of Taylor guitars. The grand concert body cutaway also has the same shape as the GC Taylor. All and all for the price you get a great sounding guitar with quality electronics that duplicate the natural sound very well. The anti feed back switch has also come in very handy for me a few times now.It has the look, feel and sound of a much more exspensive instrument and to me thats better than buying just for the name

I give it a 10 because the aesthetics are better than most other acoustic/electric guitars in this price range. It's just down right cool looking. Actually I'd give it a 9.5 If I could because it doesn't have an on board tuner which comes in handy when you're camping or at the beach etc.

Sound : 10
Definately a 10 here. The sustain & resonance are unbelievable. I had a Takamine EG523SC which is a jumbo. It couldn't even come close to matching this Hohner in sound. IMO it blew away the Seagul Artist series I used to own as well. I played a friends high end Martin & we both agreed that the Hohner gave it a run for it's money. My preference was the Hohner. He preferred the Martin, but he paid a few thousand more than I did.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action-10. The guitar excepts a low action without any buzz. Fit-10. I love the size, & it has a players neck, fast & smooth. Finish-9. I give the finish a 9 because there are a couple light spots in the Ebony sides. Barely noticable though. The Ebony back and sides are beautiful.

Reliability/Durability : 10
So far so good, Not one problem. I can't seem to get it out of tune. Bend the strings all you want & it stays in tune.

Played professionally in my younger days, club scene etc. some 20+ years ago. Now I just play for fun. Have owned numerous guitars, some good some bad, this one is a definate keeper. Do yourself a favor, if you're thinking about a mid priced guitar try this one you won't be dissapointed. I can't believe they sell it as inexpensively as they do. IMO, it's worth twice as much. Btw, the case it comes with fits like a glove, unlike others I have owned.

Bought new. Comes with a solid, locking case. Features have been pretty much covered. Well done throughtout. Again, nice touch with th maple binding, the ebony on mine is georgous! Abalone inlay is unique. The Shadow P7 electronics with its "sub-base" gives an awesome depth which is perfect for the Angst voicing I want my rebel Irish jigs and reels to project. One minor hiccup in this modestly priced beauty is that there is no strap pin at the neck. Can be had all day for $518.00.

Sound : 10
Utterly surprising. I currently own a Taylor 110 acoustic with a K&K western p/u. Yeah, I know,.. But, the EBAE is flat out louder unplugged with great balance and sustain, also with the deep resonance you'd find in an upper end guitar. I have an Acoustisonic at home and when this monster is plugged in,look out! You can shake the pictures off the wall with the sub-base slider at 3/4. I love it!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Pulled it out of the case, changed out to Martin 80/20's, tuned it up and started wailin! No complaints really. Action could have been a little lower, fret wire maybe a tad short at a couple of frets, although finished well. A little glue residue on the neck, but that's about it. Finish looks fine. Plays smoothly.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I look forward to playing this on gigs. Everything seems solid, i.e., tuners, pins, button, bridge. I've only played it for seven days ( and nights) now, but it feels like it will hold up. Of course my faithful Taylor will be in the wings just in case.

Customer Support : No Opinion
One year warranty. Haven't dealt with the company and may not need to. Sounds overly optimistic, but this guitar seems solid.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about four years now. I've roamed around G.S. and all the music stores in my area, playing all the guitars I couldn't buy. Sure, there's better ones out there, but for the money, this guitar doesn't leave you with any sense of regret. It compete's with the best. I'm very tempted to pick up their dreadnaught as well.

This has to be the finest Chinese made Acoustic/Electric that I've ever seen or played. It showed up at "Ol' Dan's" shop in tune and set up right out of the case. Great intonation. Beautiful wood. Ebony fingerboard, bridge, sides, and back. Not much grain in the Ebony on this one, but it's still gorgeous. Solid Spruce top is has a wonderful sound and the natural wood binding sets it off as far as appearance goes. Beautiful abalone around sound hole. Braces appear to be scalloped and are low profile. The neck is fabulous, frets were dressed as well as any Taylor that I've played. The action came in fairly low, but I gave it another twist and got it near flat. No dead spots or buzzing AT ALL! The C shape neck is fast and comfortable to play up to the 12th. fret and beyond. Nice binding on the fingerboard as well. Somebody at Hohner's a "Player!" Electronics sound great, and this guitar features a plug in on the body below the strap pin in the back. Balanced sound unplugged from string to string. Very tight sound at this point. I'll have to see how it does with age. I have been playing Martin...(D-28) Clarence White, and D-16 GT, as well as a very fine Taylor 910. This guitar sounds as good and as balanced as any of them. The Hohner doesn't have quite as large a sound as the Martin CW, but this isn't broken in yet, and it's just a little bit over 1/10th. of the retail price! I would buy another one of these guitars, and I'll most likely get a dreadnaught version of this as well. I can't wait to get this into the studio. I'm going to use it on the next two shows on a couple of tunes, and see how it fares live. The guitar came with an ebony stand, and a form fitting nylon dust cover. Also included was a very nice hardshell case, as well as a "you cut out what ever style that you want" pickguard. I'm gonna leave it off for now. I'm a working pro of 35 years with over 20 years of national touring and major Artist experience. In my humble opinion, I'd have to say that Hohner's got themselves a winner in the EBAE...Ebony Acoustic Electric!

Sound : 9
It still sounds a little tight, but I'll bet it's all broken in in a couple months. So far, GREAT! It'll go right to the mixer...live and in the studio. The only thing that I dislike is that I need reading glasses to read the different sliders on the pre-amp.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Set up was fabulous. I got the call that it had arrived, and immediatly told the tech to throw some lights it and to "take it down to as close to flat as you can go without back bowing it!" He said to me: " I'm not gonna touch it till you play it. I don't think that you're gonna want to change a thing. I haven't even tuned it!" It was right there when I picked it up! Amazing. The top looks and sounds great. The braces fit nice and neatly with no glue slop or sloppy cutting jobs. Nice and neat. Braces are scalloped and appear to be of a lower profile than most in guitars this style. This sucker's near perfect in every respect. If Taylor could, they should stick their name on this and sell it for $3500. more than I payed. It's a good enough guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have yet to do a show with this guitar. I have a gut feeling that it'll be fine. I play mostly electric on our shows, however I'll be using it on a few numbers on Dec. 4 on a 90 min. concert....I'll know alot more after that. I'm confident that it'll be great.

Customer Support : 9
Don't know how they are to deal with. My dealer is rock solid, and I've known/done business with him for 20+ years. He's a fine guitarist in his own right, and he plays a Hohner on his acoustic gigs backing a Nashville Recording Artist, and they both rave about the sound if it. His recomendation sold this guitar to me. It's better so far than we both expected it to be. I'm just blown away by this guitar.

Overall Rating : 10
51 year old Player...working Pro since teens. Over 25 years national touring experience. Major Artist Experience. My gear is typical for a national touring Country Musician. I wish I had asked him to get me another one of these with more figuring on the Ebony on the body.
This is an overall superior guitar. If you could only have one acoustic electric, you should buy one of these while you can get it. It blows the Taylor 900 series Acoustic Electric with Brazilian Rosewood completely OUT OF THE WATER! I can sit here and see and hear the difference for myself!
