Nice features for the price - XLR output and built in tuner are particularly unexpected on a bass this cheap. The preamp is a little limted however, not as good as a Fishman or similar.

Sound : 7
Pleasingly loud unplugged, much louder than my Washburn AB10 and i can play with an acoustic guitar without having to get the amp out, particularly with a pick. Plugged in, it's very bassy and has a tendancy to feed back.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The nut was terrible, far too high. The strings fitted were horrible too. The rest of the bass is put together beautifully, the finish is flawless, the neck is straight and i am particularly impressed with the frets themselves, they're perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Seems well built, I wouldn't hesitate to gig it without a backup. Any tiny dings will show up on that black finish though...it's a bit nineties

Customer Support : No Opinion
no idea, sorry. only just bought the thing.

Overall Rating : 9
Its nicer to play and sounds better than my ancient Washburn AB10. I love to play it unplugged, it sounds great. i'm not too keen on the black finish but for the money i don't believe you can buy a better acoustic bass.

I play in church and have played various genres of music from rock, pop, contemporary and R&B. The guitar sounds bright and full with soft tones of the bass strings and sharp tones on the treble strings. Very well balanced. The guitar sounds impressively loud (unplugged) for a compact body. Sounds even better when plugged in as the SPT Pre amp allows fractional adjustments.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar was set up beautifully at the factory. Action is a little on the low side, which is perfect for me. The built quality is flawless as all controls worked properly and everthing was nicely fitted.

Reliability/Durability : 6
Judging by the way it is built, the guitar will definitely withstand live playing. The hardware looks like it will stand the test of time and the finish seems durable enough. I would not use it during a gig without a backup.

1 Year warranty. Have not made any claims though.....

I have been playing for about a year now. I own and Ibanez RGx Electric, Yamaha CPX 700 and a Yamaha F310. This guitar would fair well against the Yamaha CPX 700 which costs twice as much.
