I agree with Jason's description on this budget price 12 string, exept for what in my opinion counts most: The top of this guitar is not solid but laminate.

Sound : 4

The sound is of the kind that one should expect from an all laminate budget priced guitar, which means limited responce in bass and middle notes and a poor overall sound quality. The too thick finnish, also handicaps the sound, which became much louder, when three years ago and after having bought a much better 12 string, i removed it and replaced it with just a few layers of teak oil.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
It looked fine when i bought it new, from a shop in Athens, Greece, in 1983. Some of the frets i had to file at the edges, but otherwise, it was OK.

Reliability/Durability : 4
The finish, although thick, got faded with time and cracked in several places, especially on the top.
I would definately not use it on a gig, but only for home practice.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I don't know anything about it.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I have been playing for about 30 years and my guitar collection includes a JF55 GUILD, a CJ CORT 3I2 and a TACOMA THUNDERHAWK BARITONE, along with my two electrics, a GUILD S300AD and a ROLAND GR300, all great looking and sounding, guitars. I still play the old IBANEZ but with only the 6 strings on, mainly for open chord slide playing. It seems to work better this way.

Basic Dreadnought 12 string acoustic. Solid spruce top, nicely flamed blonde maple sides and back, rosewood fingerboard, abalone binding and rosette, maple neck. Pearl dots, and MOP Ibanez inlay and fluer-de-lis on headstock. The finish seems a little thick. 1982 hand crafted in Japan model. it's so hard to rate feature on an acoustic...I like it.

Sound : 8
It sounds great...lots of overtones from the 12 strings...pretty even response, not too bassy/trebly. Wish it was a little louder, but I can't complain for the price i paid.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I can't really give a score on this. I bought it at the pawn shop and it's 25 years old...so it immediately needed new strings. The finish has seen some action....actually the sides and back (the flamed maple sections) are pristine, but there are some dings on the top. I need to take it to the local tech for two reasons...one, check and set the neck relief for me. Even now, the action is extremely comfortable, and its easy to play.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Well, it's 25 years old, plays/sounds great and has survived who knows how many pairs of hands before it came to rest at the local pawn shop. Seems pretty darn durable to me.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've had good luck with Ibanez on new products, but it's not like I'm going to be able to use them for this.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for almost 20 years now and I really like this guitar. I bought it for the sheer purpose of owning a 12 string. the price was extremely right, so it was a win/win situation.
