Standard, straight-forward simple design. Gloss finished spruce top 12-string guitar, with mahogany & rosewood back and sides. Tuners are geared just right, and have a good feel, And the thing is good and rugged. This, in my opinion, is what a guitar should be.

Comes equipped with ebony bridge, and synthetic nut. (Nut will be bone soon....) Strap buttons seem to be ruggedly snugged in, and the inerds and bracing all have a nice clean look. Action was set properly from the get-go, no strange high spots, no buzzing, and frets wuite easily especially for a 12 string. I have played 12 string for years, and this is among the easiest to play, and string spacing and the setup of relative action between paired strings is really nice.

Features - that isn't what the guitar is about - it is about playability and sound. Since it lacks electronics, some will say it is lacking. Piezo equipped guitars are horrible iin my opinion, I prefer the sound of a condenser thru a preamp...the electric equipped acoustcs are a fad/entry level/performance gimmick, not the real thing. Therefore, I feel as though this guitar is adequate, solid, toneful, and easy to play.

Sound : 10
This guitar has a well balanced sound. the sound has warmth to it, yet is bright, while being punchy. When 1/2 strung, it plays really well, and responds to picking dynamics well. It plays well in 12-string mode as well, and a seasoned 12 string player is capable of good articulation. I play a range of styles, heavier music preferred. I use this to create evil drones/intros, chimey choruses, and to thicken up the sound a bit at times. It mic's very well, and with some restringing, can be chunky on the low end, though I dont use it that way, just played with it a time or two.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Samick, Fender, Gibson....They dont set them up any better than this. Trust me, I have played them. The construction is ROCK solid, and I am picky about that. the neck joint is stout, the truss rod is stout enough to keep neck flex to a minimum, the top is good and stiff, fret work is superb for an instrument that would cost 4 times this. It is really ridiculous. The finish is a gloss-type, and they were careful not to go too thick and kill the sound of the top. Back and sides are heavier for durability, everything checks ok here...

Reliability/Durability : 10
I can kill a guitar as fast as Zakk Wylde kills a beer. I am up against odds here. Im tellin ya ,it is solid. If something sucks, I will be the first to complain, I HATE stuff that sucks. It is well built, with good workmanship, and rugged. It is a little lightweight compared to an older guitar, but I like it. maybe a few oz lighter than an epiphone of same build....but solid......

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had a problem. Doubt I ever will. THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playin since 91. I own 6 electrics and have been through many acoustics. My prized american made epiphone 12 was stolen, and I just KNEW nothing would replace it. My squatched girlfriend presented me with this as a gift, and it initialy played well, sounded good, and is just a ROCK. I now consider my epiphone REPLACED!!
