I have a kingston 12 string it has a transparent finish D style body. The tuners are POOP! on this thing it won't stay in tune for more than a week! Thin but wide neck, I think it needs reset:(. Mine was made in japan sometime in the 70's. It has a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides. 21 frets in total but 14 to the body. no electronics or any of that fancy jazz.

Sound : 5
It sounds decent for country/soft rock. It has a bighter sound thats what i dont like about it. Too many hi tones not enough deepness. Not rich at all. Very Very loud!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
It was set up good back in the year but now the action is getting pretty bad. Bookmatched top. The bridge is screwed and glued on with cheap glue. Ive reglued it.Not too many flaws besides the neck and bridge. The body is X braced.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Not a live player at all. The hardware is cheap, will last butcrappy. The finish is great! Not any fade or wear at all. It didnt have any strap buttons i bought some for it. It's dependable but not gigable. The body is very durable its in pretty good condition not so much the neck.

Ive been playing for 5 years. I own 9 other guitars, they are a crescendo teardrop hollowbody, kent electric, aria acoustic, harmony electric, squier p-bass, galveston les paul, Ensenada acoustic, Axl electric, and an unknown acoustic. If it were stolen i would buy an epiphone DR-212 12-String Acoustic Guitar. I love it because it was my first 12 string. I hate the neck. No favorite feature. I wish it had a new neck.

I got this D-size Kingston from my brother, who got it from a friend, who got it from his dad in the late 60's. It has a solid white spruce top with a huge curvy trutle pick guard thats screwed on. The sound hole has a nice bone inlay with a roset about 3/4" wide. The edges are also bone inlay with the back and sides made of nice polished rose colored mahogany. The neck is rosewood with large rectangle cheep fret markers but not ugly. The bridge is glued on with strings going through. The neck is thick in the back but narrow in width. Might be what kept it stright all these years. Decent tuners but they should be replaced. Some are getting loose.

I have never owned another guitar so this has been with me alot of years. I have yet to play it well but have spent years just picking and struming the old thing. It has a nice rich, mellow sound but there is a buzz that comes from the worn out bridge and loose tuner when I really bang on it. I have to say it sounds as good as a Martin and I like playing it but would really like a new one.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
This was a cheep Japan made guitar at the time but has weathered so many years and is still playable that its hard to call it cheep. It still looks great except for the screws through the pic guard caused the finish to crack on a well bookmatched top and the poorly fitted fret markers made of plastic. I've Been told it still sounds great, but to each his own I guess.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I would love to hear this on stage and if I ever get the chance I will go for it. As far as durability goes, after 40+years I think this is a keeper.

5yrs of playing this thing has brought me no fame but it has brought me some comfort. I don't know if I'd spend alot to bet it back if it were stolen but it would give me a reason to get a new one. I love playing it but the old gal would look just fine hanging on the wall while I play on something new.
I wish I knew more about this guitar but have found nothing that resembels it.
