Features : 7
The features are well explained in other reviews. The onboard EQ I would not brag to anyone about. It works but that is about all I can say about it. It sounds GREAT unhooked after some setup work. This was purchased new from Sears mail order in March 2009 for $126.00.

Sound : 9
This guitar has a very mellow and rich sound. I have a Washburn that I wish sounded as good. The Kona is much easier to play for a beginner. It is almost a cross between an acoustic and a electric as far as ease of playing. VERY PLAYABLE!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
As with most items purchased mail order, some assembly required..I am pleased with the quality of the finish and the construction considering the cost of this instrument. The tuning machines are not great quality but they work and the guitar stays in tune very well. The setup as received was not so good. The action was terrible and the frets needed to be filed. Expect to do some setup work to get it adjusted up the way you like it. The finish overall is pretty good. It's not perfect but I've looked at guitars costing a great deal more and have as yet to find a perfect one and they ALL need some setup work.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I purchased this guitar just to cart around. Now I hardly pick up either of my Washburns. I've not noticed any problems with this instruments ability to stay together but it's only a couple of months old. It's very light weight but also seems very tough. The finish looks to be pretty thin but as yet has been reluctant to accept any damage. As yet I have had no problems in this area.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have had no reason to contact customer support. As stated before this was purchased from Sears and was a drop ship from the Kona warehouse. The guitar arrived 48 hours later. If this is any indication of how fast they would respond to a problem, They are great.

Overall Rating : 10
I've only been playing for 6 months and have aquired a couple of new Washburn guitars before this Kona. I really wish the EQ worked better but the guitar is great unhooked and I would not even consider selling it. If, heaven forbid, anything happened to this guitar, I WOULD BUY ANOTHER ONE WITHOUT DELAY.
