Grand Concert body with sharp cutaway - deeper than most (dred depth). Adi spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides. Curly Maple binding with Abalone Purfling. 25.5" scale... fat neck. Unusual features include a rosewood neck with zero fret (typical for Del). Duet-2 pickup system with saddle pickup, mic, mixer and eq by Baggs (maker-installed). Greven vintage style pickguard. It's a 2004 model.

Full, lush sound whether with fingers or pick. I play in church as a worship leader. Hands-down my favorite live-sound guitar. Easy to play, too! Big bass (a Langejans trademark) but not overpowering. Duet-2 system is a perfect match to amplify the great sound from this big, deep box. An orchestra is your hands.

I bought the guitar second-hand. The first owner had not properly cared for the instrument and it needed some work on the neck. I sent it to Del and he offered me a set/refret at a reduced price, even though it's not under warranty. Now it's perfect! I added gold Gotoh 510 tuners, which I prefer over the original gold Grovers.

I use it without backup nearly every week. Sometimes I swap out for a 12-string set. But the Langejans has never failed me. Del builds his guitars with thicker sides and back than most. Makes it a tad heavy... but contributes to the sustain, which seems to last forever. It's very solid.

Very helpful, as previously explained. As second owner, I did not qualify for warranty. Del's shop also does major repairs on many brands, so he can fix anything.

I've gotten nearly as good sound with some Martins and a McPherson, but each had something small that annoyed me in the live sound department. Many are enhanced by the Fishman Aura system, which I like very much. But with the Langejans, just plug it in straight and it fills the hall with complex, beautifully sustained music. Only thing I wish for is a bit wider neck at the nut... it's 1 11/16, where I'm used to 1 3/4. But the neck is so sweet and fast that I adjust to it quickly. The neck profile feels much like a Gibson Les Paul to me.
