I play mostly blues, and blues-based music. For me this guitar is well suited for my tastes. It is well balanced sound-wise, and has a high level of playibility - fast neck, easy grip to lessen fatigue, etc.

The guitar came set up well, with a comfortable action. There are no discernable flaws in the finish or construction.

It feels sturdy, and I have taken it to rehearsals and jams, and it has stood up well. I always gig with back-ups, and this is no different.

It has a lifetime limited warranty, and the people from Rufus' Guitar Shop where I bought it, were very professional.

I have been playing for over 15 years, and this is the 3rd acoustic I have owned. This is by far the highest quality out of the three, and the decision to buy another acoustic at the time was the correct one. If this was stolen, I would take the insurance $ and buy another Larrivee (preferably the same model, but it is a limited edition).

One of 100 limited edition models, made [I believe] in 2005 in Canada. Solid top bearclaw dreadnought with satin finish. 100% Sapele front/back/sides. Tortis pickguard. Standard tuners/bridge pins/small-dot fretboard inlay.
This is a *very* basic & plain-vanilla model. But IMHO, it doesn't need the 'extras' to show as well as it sounds (the natural bearclaw is beautiful). The funny thing is, it sounds just as good, if not better, than it shows ;)
Besides the basics, got an LR Baggs Active Element pickup installed.

I love the richness of sound this guitar produces. At first, with a brand new set of strings, the highs *really* stood out to me - I would have though it was a brighter-sounding guitar. But as I played it more and broken the strings in(this happened real fast), the mids and mid-lows began to stand out, producing a very rich and full sound. Granted, the highs could be higher and the lows even lower, but the sound is very balanced.
This sounds absolutely sweet and awesome combined with the Active Element when plugged into an amp (well, at least with my little practice amp, for now).

The action is a tad higher than I'm used to as the guy I ordered from (Jason from Notableguitars.com) left it alone after installing the pickup. He didn't sand down the bridge saddle and also did not adjust the truss rod as he felt it would probably be better for me to customize those.
There's just a tiny bit of fret buzz on the low-E string, so I'll have to figure out what's going on when I change strings.
I've heard medium gauge strings sound best, so we'll see. I'll probably try some lights first just to see.
The pickup is installed fine - all strings are picking up quite evenly.

I've only had this guitar for less than a month, so I don't really want to rate this area yet. But I do trust the other 'D-03' reviews and the reknown Larrivee quality.

Jason from Notableguitars.com has been really helpful with my purchasing experience. I was quite wary of ordering acoustic guitars online, just because you can't really hear what the guitar sounds like or feel it. Jason made the experience real easy though, and he responds extremely fast to his emails! He's a real nice guy and will definitely help you out.

I've 'known' how to play for around 10 years. Of course, I've probably actually played for much less. I was looking for a new acoustic guitar as my Takamine EG330C just wasn't cutting it - I've neglected that guitar so much. Not sure if I want to sell it though as it has some sentimental value - it was a jr. high graduation gift from my late grandmother. I also own an el cheapo Agile Valkyrie electric and a Peavey Fury 5-string Quilted Top bass. Anyway, my friend who is a guitar-afficionado, highly recommended this particular D-03 to me. So I bit. I was very reluctant, but now I have no regrets. If it were stolen or lost, I'd definitely save up my $$$ again to purchase the same model. Unfortunately, it might be hard getting my hands on the D-03SP specifically, as it is a limited edition model.
I really love the bearclaw on it - I had the option to get bearclaw or go regular, but I wanted this one to be a little more unique.
I used to dislike Larrivee because a couple of guys I knew in college bought them and raved about them so much, but to me their Larrivees were just *loud*(I used to be a purist Taylor-guy; especially after hearing a super-nice sounding 614ce). Now I can kind of understand why they liked them so much; except, I think my Larrivee sounds much better than theirs ;)
