It has the standard features you can read on Larrivee website. amazing woods!! An amazing smooth pale spruce and one still more wonderful orange mahogany for the body and the neck. You really could belive that those woods were selected with great care (Mr.Larrivee in person? will it be true?). The guitar even if not so full of bindings or inlays really look very classy ... you can't have doubts looking at it in real. It has a wondeful shiney finish (not too think as on cheap-guitars).

Sound : 10
Well, this is a power-of-nature instrument. Very vibrating and resonsive on each position of the neck. You get that dry and full sound you expect from a 12 strings guitar born for chords.

It has an extended frequency response. I mean, there arent lacks of bass, midranges or high ends ... it behaves like all the guitars you always liked ...all contained in a single instrument!

The guy on the (big) store where I bought it ...trying it ...(and being also a veteran guitarist) said "its the best sounding 12 string guitar I ever tried (and he has been sold guitars for a decade!)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10

As I already said... all was fine on this guitar ... the factory action is superb (rare feature for factory setups!)

The finish look like very well made without excessive thickness and without defects.

Reliability/Durability : 8
It seems so well builded that I hardly would think about it as a fragile piece ;)

Customer Support : No Opinion
I hope it will be my "friend" for long time without troubles!

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar for 25 years.. I'am a guitar collector also. I own several to branded instruments. I bought this one mainly for chords-pads. In this role, this guitar made obsolete the Martin D18 I had (that I'll sell soon).

This is an amazing instrument that I love to play both acoustically and during recording sessions. This that I choosed it without to hear it ... just basing on my experience about woods body shapes, reviews and manufacturer reputation.

Was I good? Was I lucky? I dont know ... anyway it is an amazing instrument!

This is the 12 string version of the L-05. It was made in the California workshop. It has a gloss finish, abalone rosette, sitka spruce top, mahagony back and sides, maple binding (which is beautiful), ebony fretboard and bridge. The guitar really looks amazing, but there are not a lot of features (it doesn't have a cut-away, electronics, fretboard inlays, etc.).

Sound : 10
The sound out of this guitar is really incredible. I played a lot of different 12 string guitars including Taylors, Takamine, Guild, and Seagull. The Larrivee has the best sound hands down. This guitar was reviewed in the May 2005 issue of Acoustic Guitar. They stated that as versatile as 12 string guitars come. This is an understatement.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action on this guitar is great. It is pretty low but without any buzzing. As I mentioned above, the finish is amazing. There are no visible flaws any where on this guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is very light, but it seems very durable. I would have no problem playing this guitar without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't had to deal with their customer support, but from what I have understood from others, there support is very good.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about 6 years and I own a Seagull 6 string acoustic and a National Style 1 Tricone. If it were lost or stolen, I would definitely replace it (if I could afford it...these guitars are around $1400 but I got it at a major sale price). The sound from this guitar is truely incredible. I really think it is unmatched by most 12 strings in it's price range.

Late 90s, solid spruce top, Mahogany b&s, Rosewood binding, abalone rosette. A very elegant guitar without being overdone. The L body style is really nice. More comfortable than a dreadnought or a jumbo and no loss of tone.

Sound : 10
Simply the best sounding twelve string I ever played! When I saw it in the store, it had old dead strings on it. My salesman put new Elixirs on and wow!. I compared head-to-head with Martin J-15-12, Seagull s6 12, Taylor 355 and 455. The Larrivee was far superior. Very balanced, not too much jangle or rumble often associated with 12 strings. Responds to the slightest touch. Acton lower than most 6 strings and no buzz!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Immaculate. Looks like a guitar costing twice as much. My only complaint is this model came before Larrivee started using ebony headstocks in their 05 series. The rosewood headstock is not as flashy as the new ebony but it does match the binding.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Seems really solid but its new now. I'll cry when it gets it's first ding.

Havn't dealt with them yet.

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar was a clearance items (new-old stock) and I got an unbeliveable price on it. The dealer doesn't carry larrivee anymore and wanted it out. I would buy another but would have to pay alot more next time. Simply Fantastic!
