Indian Rosewood/Spruce - standard consruction for a nice guitar. 1 3/4 inch nut is perfect for me. Very comfortable neck for fingerstyle. Fishman electronics with a mic and pick-up - very versatile. The deep bowl for this 00 size model makes it a unique instrument. I replaced the saddle with a bone one and the tone is a bit more articulate - by that I mean I think the attack of a picked note seems a bit more crisp.

I played all the Martins and Taylors I could find and chose this guitar. Sound is a personal thing. This guitar has a much fuller bass response - it sings bass - than any other 00 you'll find. And the high notes sing sweetly as well. I love it for fingersyle stuff and strumming. Mine really opened up after a few months of playing it at least an hour a day. I also own a Bourgeois JRA and a Larrivee OM-03, but this Martin is my favorite. It also sounds great plugged in. The one drawback of this model is its small size. It doesn't pump out enough volume for jamming with multiple people in an acoustic setting. If you need to cut through an ensemble without plugging in you'll need a bigger, louder guitar.

Almost perfect. Looks like it should. Style is also a personal thing, and I like this instrument's simple look. It's a grown-up's guitar. I'm not a fan of fancy designs on guitars. That is just a subjective opinion I suppose. This guitar is put together nicely. May have lower action than a typical Martin. I had the action raised a bit when the saddle was replaced - but just a bit...

Reliability/Durability : 10
It's a well-made Martin guitar. I gig with it.

I'm a singer/songwriter and fingerstyle player. As I said, this guitar is my favorite. I'll take it to the desert island with my wife, kids, and some Beatles, Miles Davis, and Louis Armstrong records. I think its a versatile instrument - a Martin guitar a Taylor player might like. There are certainly better (and much more expensive) fingerstyle instruments out there, but this guitar works very well for almost everything. The deep bowl gives it a presence my OM-03 lacks. I also like the fact that this guitar is not a super popular model. I think it has a unique voice, and as a singer/songwriter that seems advantageous.

Satin finish, cutaway with a big, BIG sound. See Martin website for all the details. Comes with an Eclipse pick-up that is phenominal...2 pick-ups; one piezo and one microphone type inside the guitar. Volume control, also allows you to use one or both pick-ups just inside the soundhole.

Sound : 8
Guitar has a great sound, especially when you use the pick-ups. Has a louder bass than most 00 models. Has nice bright sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action is perfect...on the low end, but no buzzing strings. Nice Abalone shell around soundhole, herringbone inlay on the back of the guitar. I have no complaints.

I bought it on 1/30/07. Took it home and it played beautifully. I used it for a gig on 2/3/07 and I couldn't have been more pleased...just be careful tho'...the bass can get a little overbearing, so be sure to do a thorough sound check at first until you get used to the EQ with the 2 pick-ups. Strap buttons are solid. I have a D-35, and a Huss and Dalton T-DH, and while this guitar doesn't have the big and rich sound of those models, it is a great sounding guitar, especially with fingepicking.

Haven't needed it yet.

I've been playing for 30 years. If it were lost, I would be heartbroken...it is a good fit for my small hands and sounds soooo good. My favorite feature is the great Eclipse pick-up system.
At the shop where I bought it, (Murphy's Music, Long Island, NY) there were other )) models, but none with the sound that this baby has. They sounded thin, even tho' they carry the Matin name, without any bass whatsoever. Even Taylor made nothing that came close to the sound.
