Nice simple and subtle features. Nothing fancy here. Just pure sound and playability. I personally like the wider neck. It makes chord work and picking around the first fret very easy to articulate. My only problem is the perloid tuning knobs. I don't like that plastic type crap, especially on such a nice guitar. This guitar needs metal tuning knobs and actually could use the weight up top whereas it is slightly body heavy. Other than that, super nice design, and just about my favorite Martin guitar.

Incredible. Rich, deep, balanced, full, and that freakin' Adirondack top is the PERFECT compliment to the body shape and design. These notes ring out like church bells and sustain like crazy. Whether you strum hard, soft, or even FINGERPICK... this guitar just follows along with great tone and balance. I just can't speak highly enough about this guitar.

Top shelf on all the Blakes I have played.

Again, top shelf. That 12 fret to the body thing allows the bracing and overall design of the top to really move. The necks all seem to be dead on straight as well. If you think about it from a common sense viewpoint, the less of the neck sticking out past the body means the more sturdier the instrument can be made. It simply has better neck support. So if I was stranded on a deserted island with only one guitar for the rest of my life, I would choose this Blake.

I have been playing for over 43 years. I own many guitars and lots of gear. I also own a recording studio. This is the best Martin I have ever played and if stolen, I would make every effort to replace it.
