I have #83 of 383 made. It is an comfortable Auditorium style guitar with a cuta-away, an Engleman spruce top, and Quilted Mahogony sides and back. It has the Fishman Blend pick-up system. Neck is solid mahogony. It is one of the few Signature Models without the signature model on the neck. The neck and headstock are bound. It has an unusual wide saddled bridge, old styled butter bean tuners and the alternate torch pattern on the headstock. The soundhole and back have the 45 style inlays. The neck is a short scale, wide (1 3/4" at nut)finger style, low profile neck. Finally the guitar comes in a top of the line blacked out Geib style case. All in all it is a very pretty guitar with many great appointments.

This is perfect for much of what I play. My most worked on style is finger style blues and this guitar really shines for that. Unplugged it has a bright sound with beautiful overtones. It rings like a crystal.
The Fishman blend sytstem allows it to be dialed in nicely for playing through an acoustic amp. I play through a Fishman Loudbox and it sounds great with a bit of soundhole mic in the mix.
Turning off the mic allows it to be played with the Fishman Aura, I am still experimenting getting this tuned in although am happy with it as far as I've gotten. One dissaponitment is that there is no existing sound image for this guitar on the Fishmanaura site.
I also have a D-35 which I use for traditional strummed folk style. This guitar doesn't have near the bass that the D-35 has. The D-35 isn't near as responsive to fingerstyle playing as the 000C.

This is a beautiful guitar with understated elegence. It is hard to imagine a prettier guitar. I bought it for its playing features and fell in love with it because of its beauty. It is hard to imagine a prettier guitar.

The only thing that might have made this guitar more durable would be a dove tail neck joint as opposed to the mortise and tenon style it comes with. Martin is making so many of their top line guitars with the M/T neck joint that I believe it doesn't really affect anything. New the guitar comes with a life time warranty. Used it comes with Martins famous build quality. You can't go wrong with this guitar from a point of view of reliability and durability.

I've been playing since 1965. I own fourteen guitars including the follwoing Martins: D-35, 000-18, D12-1 and a back packer. I also own an Alvarez MD90 and old Yamaha laminate dread and a number of electrics.
"If it were stolen or lost, would you buy it again or get something else?" Tell me who's going to steal it, I'll moiderize him.
I will sell my 000-18 and keep the 000C Steve Miller.

2005 Model, short scale, modified oval neck,Fishman Elipse system, a players guitar. With the 000 Body I like the Mahogany back/sides to keep the tone from being too bright, guitar is very balanced and understated, not a flashy piece but quality woods and hardware.

Not as full as a dreadnaught, but nicely balanced. I'm an old rocker so I need some time with this guitar to get to know it and strengthen my spoiled electric fingers (Strats and a Parker have pampered me).

This is where this guitar shines. While shopping and talking to others there was a common theme among the guitar owners and store employees who had played the Steve Miller, the best playablilty of ANY Martin they can remember, adn I agree. With the shorter scale and wonderful neck and cutaway this thing plays like butter, wonderful feel and action.

I wanted a Steve Miller but couldn't find one and bought a DC-Aura, which happened to have bad electronics. So I got a second chance to locate a Steve Miller and they found one. The reviews on the DC-Aura are fantastic and deservedly so, it is a beautiful rich sounding guitar at a fantastic price, I could have been very happy with it.
But, the Steve Miller plays so much easier, I can still use whole tone bends with the slightly lighter tension of the short scale neck, its gives up a little in sound but makes it up big time in playability.
I will be able to play complex licks and runs on the Steve Miller that I would struggle with on the DC-Aura, and the very smaall sacrifice in "sound" is worth it. A players guitar to be sure.

Made in 2006, 14 fret with cutaway, 24.9 scale, figured mahogany back and side with engleman top, Eclipse pickup system which is basically a fishman undersaddle pickup combined with a mic. It does have an EQ switch that lets you change between the natural 1 and natural 2 settings. I haven't even used the pickup yet.

Sounds like a small body Martin should. Very responsive, with good balance. It doesn't have the bottom-end of a dreadnought due to small body, short scale and mahogany. I play with a thumbpick and can pull out a more than respectable bass by digging in a bit.

Haven't touched the set up yet. About as close to perfect as possible right out of the box.

No reason to suspect it won't hold up like any other Martin, which is top notch for a solid wood guitar.

I've contacted Martin in the past and they've been fine. My only complaint is the 1833 shop. I always get a phone message and they never call back. Once you can get a real person, they are fine.

I love the guitar. I wanted a short scale mahogany fingerpicker with a low profile neck. This was the best option available. And the headstock abalone torch is very cool. My only other options were very expensive custom guitars. I am very please with this guitar

Understated beauty. This is a 2005 Martin 000 size guitar with a cutaway. All solid of course and it includes a Fishman Blender Ecllipse system. Made of Engleman Spruce on top and lightly quilted mahogany on the back and sides.
Gloss finish.

I love the sound of this guitar. I find that with a good set of medium strings I get an awesome fingerpicked tone and a great strummed sound too. The sound is bright for a Martin but nicely balanced with some good lows. If I wasn't needing to play it in a strummed style so much I'd go with lighter strings and have a really magical fingerpicked tone.

A limited edition Martin and they seem to have taken good care to make it as perfect as they can. A lovelly flawless finish. The action on the short scale is smooth, even without a professional set-up. I'm very pleased with the quality of this guitar.

I've been playing for one year but I've felt strongly about having the best equipment that I could afford. This guitar had all the features I wanted. No other Martin had everything I wanted in one package. (However, the David Gray model is pretty close)
I traded an HD-28 and ended up selling my D-18GE once this guitar arrived.
I have no regrets at all about this guitar.
