First of all, I am rather picky when it comes to getting good quality for what you pay for... And guitars are no different, even if it is only a sub $400 guitar. Received the guitar a few days ago and here are my initial thoughts on it. I love the 00 size and fits me well. Checked it all over right away. Really nice looking. Tuners are super. Inside looks clean and tidy. Fretboard is only so-so with some identations already on it. Neck has an Up-bow to it. Final clear finish a little sloppy on side of fretboard also (a little blob at third fret). Body is free of scratches, etc. Little glue around bridge but not bad. Bridge pins look fine. The case is top notch. Sometimes I wish they would provide a cheaper case and put that extra money into upgrading the guitar.

Sound : 6
I have/had lots of 000 body guitars and many more classical guitars so am familiar with smaller bodies and reduced sound compared to the bigger dreads, etc. The sound of this guitar right out of the case is almost non-existant... Really really quiet. I was suprised. I am thinking, from reading previous reviews that some new strings might help the problem. Really quiet going up the neck too. Not impressed right now with this guitar but might change my mind with new strings. Shame you have to buy new strings first thing on many new guitars.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I talked about some finish problems up above. Tuners, nut and saddle look fine and are supposed to be bone. Action is a personal preference but my current setup on this is way too high. Also the neck has too much Up-bow so will have to adjust the truss rod. Also will sand down the saddle a little.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
No real comments here. I guess time will tell. Pretty much looks and feels like most guitars in this price range. Not too heavy and like that.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't have any experience here.

Overall Rating : 7
I bought this guitar basically for it's size and also the fact that I never had a MM before. This one caught my eye. I also wanted bone nut/saddle. At this stage I am somewhat dissapointed with the overall first blush feel to it. I was expecting more for some reason in both quality and sound. I just got rid of a Johnson Carolina JO17 which is a 000 size so it was slightly bigger but was tons better quality and sound than this guitar and ran me $300 with hard case. I do realize that most all of these priced guitars are made pretty much from the same place/line so they should all be about the same in workmanship and materials. I probably will keep this guitar since I like the size and the overall look to it and will set it up myself and see what happens. When looking for this guitar I almost bought the Epiphone EL-00 which is pretty similar but with a smaller scale and maybe I should have.... Then again maybe not.

It has a cool vintage finish. I had 2 included accessories-case and humidifer-I didn't need any others. I love it even though it did not have a lot of features-so I gave it a 10.

Sound : 10
It pretty much fits my music style. It has a rich sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
It did not have any flaws or any other bad things.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I can depend on it, but I would use a backup on any guitar. It is very durabile.

Customer Support : 9
I don't need a warranty because it is so durable.

Overall Rating : 10
It has a great value and I would buy it again if it was stolen or lost once I saved up enough money.

Beautiful finish and burst on this guitar. This is a 00 size and is very cvomfortable for a person of my large size. Came with a hardshell case this is one of the nicest cases I have come across. Fits the guitar perfectly.

Sound : 9
I am a beginner learning to play bluegrass and gospel. I own 3 other guitars and while this does not have the volume and depth of my Alvarez, it has a very nice sound and punch to it for its size.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The stock strings were terrible. I had a set of D'Addario lights put on when I purchased it and had it setup. There is no fret buzz except for what I cause myself. There were no flaws to the finish that I could see.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Not sure about live playing since I have not that yet. But, I see no reason not to use it live as long as you don;t havce lots of other guitars covering you up.

Customer Support : 10
One of the bridge pins was a little flakey so I contacted customer support and they are sending me a new set. Very prompt and courteous response.

Overall Rating : 10
I own an Alvarex AD80SSB, an Epiphone Dove, a Schecter Omen 6 electric and a Morgan Monroe MFM-300 mandolin (which is a superb instrument). If lost or stolen I would definitely buy another one. The price was very reasonable.

The stock strings are !@#!, put on some Dean Markley vintage and really "fram" on it to break it in, The entire guitar is tight built and needs to loosen. It is a little quiet and the bass is somewhat subdued. But, really it has a distinctive sound that I have come to like very much and have gotten a few positive comments. It is not a Martin but it has its own sound that is really nice.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Very well made. Action was to high for me. Easily fixed.

Solid Spruce on top Laminate back and sides, Grover sta-tites, V neck fabulous feel, 25 1/4 scale 14 to the neck makes for a nice tight action you can dig in to your hearts content.
I may buy another one for the future, best 300.00 you will EVER spend on a guitar. If this thing had an American label on it, it would cost probably five times as much.

Sound : 10
This is pretty subjective, but I love it Great balance and nice and tight,no boomy guitars for me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Fit and Finish in this price range is beyond compare.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I use this guitar everywhere.

A 9 because I can't see ever needing support, the guitar is that well-made

00 size acoustic. Solid sitka spruce top, laminated mahogany back/sides. Rosewood fretboard, 25.25" scale, dovetail neck joint, stay-tight open gear tuners, nice sunburst finish, 14 fret to joint,
I give it an 8 on features because, in this price range and what I wanted - it has everything but it's pretty simple. Comes with a pretty nice arched-top case with a hygrometer! Pretty slick especially for a guitar in this range. I have to up it to a 9 because of the case.

Sound : 8
The smaller body is supposed to be a knock off of pre WWII guitars commonly used in blues. It looks kinda like Robert Johnson's Gibson. It has less bass than a drednaught. I think it will take a bit to break it in - but when I play slide on it, it has a nice bluesy acoustic tone which is what I was after. Fingerstyle, it has a nice even sound. Not very loud but that is likely due to the smaller body and thick finish. It sounds pretty nice strummed and excellent when flat picked.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The finish is quite good. There's a little excess glue inside in one area but not much. Overall quite clean. The frets are finished surprisingly well (usually on a guitar in the range a real fret dressing is needed - but not on this one at all). The saddle was a bit high so I sanded it down a bit and it's much more to my liking. That's my taste so not a knock. The neck is a v shape - feels quite good.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've only had it two weeks. It seems very well constructed. Everything seems solid. I would never gig withouth a backup so that's a bad question for me - BUT, if I had to I'd feel comfortable with this guitar without backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
haven't dealt with them and likely won't unless it falls apart. It does have a limited lifetime warranty but I have a great guitar tech who would do any repair.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar for about 10 years - I'm 44 and was a piano major in college. I have a modest collection of acoustics and electrics - mostly modestly priced (a Martin DM is my best one). I'm really happy with the purchase of this Morgan Monroe. It's nice to play and I like the smaller body but with a full scale length neck. If I lost it or it was stolen I'd order another one right away. It's exactly what I was looking for to add to my collection. I think when an overall rating is given, you have to consider the value. This guitar is an excellent value. I highly recommend it if someone is interested in a modestly priced small bodied guitar.
