Smaller body size and slimish neck are a real plus for what I have been looking for in a day to day player. The stainless steel frets are a bonus!

Sound : 9
The sound of this acoustic is rich and great it has great sustain.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The binding and darkened finish is very attractive - neck plays well and out of the box the saddle height was a little high for me - easy to take down the saddle by an 1/8" - I haven't touched the nut as yet.
After the adjustment, she plays near perfect.

The price and playablility are the selling points - I would replace this should something happen to it. I have been looking for a day to day acoustic for a long time and this is it.

Simple 00 body parlor style blues guitar. Cool tobacco wash finish, grain of the wood shows through. Spruce top, mahogany sides and back. Cream binding. Grover sta-tite tuners, rosewood bridge, bone nut. Burned wood looking headstock applique, rosette, and fingerboard detailing. Not a lot to fool with, so it gets a 6. I also tried a Blues 32 at a local store, but I didn't like the V-neck on that at all. This is more like a D, I guess, not as shallow as a C neck but certainly not as full as some of the baseball bat necks I've seen on vintage Nationals, etc. I prefer a thinner neck, even on acoustics, so this suits me fine. BTW, fretboard is flat like the plains.

Sound : 8
I was looking for a full acoustic that I can play at night after the family's in bed that won't blow the place out, but that I can also take out and play with friends. My principle acoustic is a Breedlove dread, so that tells you what this is not. The Breedlove has very sweet, full resonant sound, this is a bit more focused, thin, think "minor key": it really does suit blues fingerstylings and restrained strumming. I have previously owned an Art & Lutherie Ami, and a Gibson Blues King. This definitely sounds better than the Ami, I know they are supposed to be well constructed, but this projects a warm, woody tone much better than the Ami did. It is not as tightly constructed as the Gibson was, so it's not as loud, and the sound is not as focused or directed as the Gibby was, but again, it's a little softer, which is what I was hoping for. Also, it's brand new, I expect the sound will open up even more as the strings get a little wear and, in time, and the whole thing settles.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action is perfect for me. Low enough to be able to fret and alternate to fingerstyling, enough width between strings to strike individual notes with ease. I don't have great big hands or fingers, so the slightly smaller scale and spacing of the strings works great for me. Fit and finish is simple. but attractive. The rosewood fingerboard is lined with wood burnt edging, and the fret markings on the binding also appear to be burned in. A very attractive looking instrument, looks old timey and weathered right out of the case. Only issue was a couple of the bridge pins on the bass strings were popped upon arrival. Otherwise, it's in great shape. Comes with a truss wrench and a couple of replacement bridge pins.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Well, it's a small acoustic, and it's not a 4 figure Gibson. It will need to be treated with some care, but regular wear and tear will only add to its character. Also, it came with a alligatorish covered hard shell case with built in hydrometer. It needs a second strap button, no big deal. I don't gig in any real capacity, if something happened while playing with friends I'd either use another of my guitars or pack it in for the night. For a professional, this might provide the tone for one or two particular songs, but I doubt you'd do a whole set on a guitar like this. It's got a very particular vibe. Since it's brand new, I can't address reliability, but it does come with a lifetime warranty from Morgan Monroe.

Purchased from onlineguitar.com, who I have to highly recommend. Not only did they accept a Best offer on this (off of Ebay) at $249, that included the guitar, the case, and free shipping (with no tax). Helluva deal for a great guitar like this.

Oh god. Playing about 10 years, owned probably close to 50 guitars. I currently have about 12: the Breedlove, a Michael Kelly Hybrid, Regal single and tricones, 2 telecasters, a strat, a couple of cigar box guitars, a Gold Tone biscuit resonator, and a S B MacDonald acoustic electric resonator. My main electric amp is a Roland Bluescube. I use of Boss loop station and sometimes the Clapton Crossroads pedal. I have a small Jay Turser 10 watt acoustic amp for the Hybrid and the resolectric. If this were stolen and I could replace it at this price, you bet I would. I think it's about a $250 guitar..Chinese made, better than a kid's guitar but not in league with the top end guitars we all know. But that's not it's purpose to me; it's a working pony, it's good looking, and like an aged bourbon, it's mellow. And a good solid case and free shipping sealed the deal. I have made mistakes with online guitar purcases in the past, and usually know it within a matter of minutes. I don't consider this a mistake.

This is a new offering from MM from their Creekside series. Very flat satin finish with a solid spruce top and laminated mahogany sides and back. Short scale with sort of thin frets. Has nice maple binding on all edges including the board. Made in China. Has a very aged look to it with very nice butterbean tuners that work very well. This is an 00 size body. Comes with a very nice alligator print hardcase with a built in hygrometer. This git is a fantastic value as I got it from onlineguitar for $310 delivered!!

Sound : 10
Has a great bluesy sound. Which is what it is supposed to be emulating. More on the bright side with a pronounced mid and adequate bass given it's size. I like this for noodling on the couch. The sound to me is right on the money as the old time blues players didn't have much access to the better sounding guitars. In fact I prefer the blues whan they are played on a lower end guitar with barely adequate playing and singing. The acoustic blues do not sound right when they are played too well.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Nice setup...I only lowered the action at the nut for my preference. The guitar looks great.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I wouldn't hesitate to gig with this as it seems very solid. I would never do a gig without a backup.

Haven't had to go here as yet.

Overall Rating : 10
If you want an inexpensive, old looking, blues sounding git then this is for you. Nothing else on the market comes close for value except MM's own blues 32.
