This guitar was made in 2003 in Cebu, Philippines, which is known for it's quality handmade quitars. This guitar is hand made, 20 frets, solid top mahagony with a rosewood fretboard. Finish is absolutely beautiful high gloss varnished mahagony with a black pickguard. It is a full sized guitar with a single cutaway for reaching the higher frets. Basic wood bridge but it is adjustable as is the neck also with a truss rod which is hard to find in the Philippines. Nice neck, medium just the way I like it and the frets are jumbo sized with the fretmarkers being eagles. It came with a wooden case lined with velvet. I have Gibson, Martin and Taylor Acoustic Guitars, which all cost me well over a thousand each. This guitar with the case included cost less than $250 American dollars and looks better, plays better and most importantly sounds better. It is the most awesome acoustic guitar I have ever laid my hands on. Absolutely a 20 on a scale of 1 to 10, but guess we have to give it a 10 here.

I play just about anything but focus on acoustic blues, country and classic rock. This is an acoustic guitar so I don't use any effects, although I have a sound hole pickup that I use through an Ibanez Acoustic Amp and it sounds awesome through it. This guitar has the perfect acoustic sound. Not too bassy, not to bright, just a full, very rich acoustic sound with incredible sustain and it is very loud even unamplified. The tone just rings and using the higher strings, sounds like a bell or piano. I love everything about this guitar and again, for less than $250 american dollars case included, this is the most awesome acoustic I have ever played. It fret so easily it is like playing an electric guitar with absolutely no fret buzz whatsoever. Absolutely fucking awesome playing, looking and sounding guitar.

Well, this guitar was hand made for me. The guy even measured my arms and hands and from the waist to chest. Setup was absolutely perfect because I told him what I wanted and he made it that way. Absolutely no flaws. This guitar is incredibly beautiful to look at.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Well, I've had this guitar about a year now and I don't perform live anymore, but I used to and I would not hesitate to use it live. It puts my Gibson, Martin and Taylor to absolute shame. This guitar will last and the guy and his family give lifetime guarantees. There are no strap buttons. Guitar is totally dependable and yes, I would use it without a backup.

The Ocampos folks in Cebu will make whatever you want in a guitar. They have their own original designs, which I chose, but it was tailored to me for size and even my hand size. If you want a Martin style, Gibson style, Taylor style they can do it and it will be better than the real thing. Every guitar is handmade by master craftsmen and they take absolutely no shortcuts. It took them a month to make it for me. They will even make electric guitars in any style....strat, les paul, telecaster. I had them design me and make me a cross between a telecaster and les paul. Basically it has two humbuckers and tunomatic bridge but everything else is like a telecaster with a set neck and the guitar is absolutely incredible. I will be reviewing it also. I call it a lesocaster. These are incredible folks. They will NOT ship though. If you want one you gotta come to the Philippines and buy it. But shit, an airplane ticket here round trip from LA is about $700. The guitar was $250. Still less money than you would spend on a Gibson, Martin or Taylor and you get a better guitar to boot. They are nice folks too.

I have been playing guitar for over 50 years. I'm 62 years old. I came to the Philippines on R and R from Vietnam, got out of the Army in 1968 and have been here ever since, and yes, I am American, although I make a trip home once or twice a year. I also have a Gibson, Martin and Taylor Acoustic Guitars, a Fender American Standard Stratocaster and this Lesocaster I was telling you about earlier which I will review after I write this. I have an Ibanez Acoustic Amp a VOX AC30 and a Marshall G30CDR for amps. If this guitar were stolen I would track the son of a bitch that stole it down and kill him or offer him my Gibson to give it back. I love everything about it. Incredible guitar.....amazing.
