Korean Ovation model. Super shallow bowl depth, with a piezo pickup in the bridge and a preamp (volume, bass, mid, treble, preset eq an eq in/out controls) in it's "waist".
Solid spruce top, multi soundhole pattern with "Maple leaf"-inlay, nato neck, "Lyracord" (plastic) back and sides.
This one's finished in gloss black, with gold (Gotoh copy) tuning heads.

I play a lot of different kinds of music, but mostly rock based. This guitar sounds crisp and clear. No boomy bass etc. It cuts right through. I have it connected to a BBE 386 acoustic preamp, wich in turn is placed in the effectsloop of a Boss GX700. This way I'm able to switch from acoustic to electric instantly. (Usefull in some applications.)

Basic setup is very poor. Very high action, flat sound, awfull playability. The top finish shows some "ups and downs", it's certainly not a fine polished finish, ultra smooth finish. Bindings were cracked in a couple of spots. (Probably due to a concave neck.)I had mine checked up by my local guitarbuilder / customizer. He refiled the nut and bridge, adjusted the neck etc. Now it plays like an electric, with a more bodied, livelier tone. It projects it's sound really well. It also has a faster response.

It probably will survive gigging. But it's a fairly delicate instrument. So you'll have to be carefull with it. For the couple of songs I use it for it's good enough. But I'm not sure if it would survive a sertious life on the road.

I've been playing for the last 20 years. It's my first acoustic electric. I just love the looks of the multi-soundhole pattern with it's inlays. (Essentially this is the reason I bought it. But after having it setup properly, I like the sound as well.)
All in all it's not a bad (Korean made) instrument.

I had it 2 months and like the sound. One thing I have noticed it the the G string 2nd fret and slightly on the 3 fret buzz. I tried 2 of the identical guitars at mars and 4 at Guitar Center and guess what, they all buzz. Some more then others but nonetheless they all do. I will be bringing it back in for Ovation to look at it, it they can't fix it, I do not what it back. $500 bucks is $500.00 bucks. I would have to believe this is a major quality control problem. I would also speculate,(since I am in Quality conrol myself), that they knew it and shipped them. It seems like a manufacture flew in production. So what do you do, ship em and hope people like me don't try and warrenty them. Theres to many at the store to be a fluck.

we will have to wait and see. Guitar Center will have someone look at it to see if it a warentty item. If not I will be pissed. I have spent $500.00 on this guiar. I have a American Fender Fat Deluxe 1100.00. a '79 Aria classical. and a cheap Fender Squire strat. I have spend close to $6000.00 at guitar center in the last 18 months. I also play Drums.
