It is a '77 1615 model Ovation 12 string. Made in USA with a tobacco sunburst finish. Gold harware, snowflake inlays and one volume controll. Deep bowl and slotted headstock. I gave $300 for it five years ago and have never regretted it at all. Works best with a feedback plug in the round soundhole. Neck is pretty wide but this is a good thing for me as thin necks give me problems. Had one fret sticking up I had to reset but it was fine afterwards.

Sound : 8
It is a very "chimey" sounding 12 string. It is built like a tank...this is a work guitar! string it up, tune it and forget it. I've played out several times with it and it works great! The peizo-pickups will sound better with a direct box, I used a passive and it worked fine with a little fiddling. It is not very resonate at all. The acoustic sound is not that loud but it also can be tuned to standard sitch and had a extra-sturdy bracing on the top. It's made to be played plugged in! that is the way it sounds best.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The before mentioned fret was taken care of and it was made in '77 so I doubt is was a factory defect. It was playable when I bought it. I've never had any problem with it. Every glue joint and brace looks good. Rosette is in good shape and it is X-braced very solid. I'm always amazed this guitar is so old, the finish is still beautiful after all these years.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar has ever let me down...The batteries even seem to last forever. It is built like a tank!! The finish has never been scratched and it polishes up real nice. The machines are sealed ovation (schaller I think) units and have never had an occasion to worry about them.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them

I've been playing for 36 years. I own an ovation 6 string, PRS, Gibson LPjr., I have had good luck with Ovations in the past so I would buy another Ovation. I wish it had a lo-Z balanced out but this is an old guitar and it does work good with what it has.

Made in 1975 (Looked up the serial number on Ovations Website), Has 19 frets. Only has a volume control (But what do you expect from the 70's A/E) but I haven't even tried it on a amp yet. Mahogany neck. Finish is a beautiful Sunburst with Pearl inlay on the bridge and around the sound hole. Got the original hard case with it.

Sound : 10
The sound of this guitar is what attracted me to it. I saw figured I would play with it for awhile but I was not prepared for what I heard. The Sound of this guitar blew me away, bright, rich, just awesome sound. I have heard other acoustics and this one suprised me not only was it A/E but it was an Ovation fiber back.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action on this guitar is tight. I am used to my Alvarez (That is reviewed on here as well the 5212) that the action is set around my head but I touch this thing and it is just solid and light as hell.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I have only had this guitar for 2 days now but it is 25 years old and looks brand new. Polished and waxed her and looks better than when I walked out of the store with her. Everything seems tight and in working order I haven't seen anything yet.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

I have been playing for 1 1/2 years now and I love my two guitars with a passion. When I saw this guitar it just was calling me and what makes me laugh is that the guitar is older than me and it still has the sound and look of a new ovation. I love the head on this guitar it looks like a classical guitar head. Definite talk peace if you saw it. I found all of the info on this guitar on the Ovation website, looked up the model number and the serial number so I can get the exact year and total config. I have seen this guitar on the net from $425-$700 and that isn't with the original case. Which I got today for $40 bucks from Guitar center.
