This is a 98 Model. It is the shallow back design, the top is spruce and the neck is mahogany. It has a outragously beautifull cherry-cherry burst finish. It also has abalone inlay on the figer board and next to the binding all arond the body. The fingerboard is ebony and it has 24K goldplated schaller tuners. It comes stock with the op4 electronics (tuner, volume control, notch control, 4 band EQ). A high impedence and XLR jack off of the back. Oh it comes in a deluxe case.
Sound

This is the ultimate single sound hole Ovation 6 string. I know there are those that don't care for the Ovation look, sound and feel but I LOVE IT. You won't get the resounding low-mids of a martin out of this thing, but it strikes me as being very balanced frequency wise. No string overpowers the others. It has suprisingly good projection for a shallow body but plugged in the sound is nirvanah (the place not the band :) ). I tried this thing out through a buddies Fender acoustisonique, very impressive. Through my 6100LM Marshall, well, I think I'll be buying the fender soon.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action was a little high for my blood, but the nut is shimmed from the factory. Took the shims out during the string change and it was perfect. The action actually comes close to my LP Classic. No dings, the guitar was in perfect shape, and as I said before the finish has to be seen to be believed.

The guitar is definately of profesional quaity. I will play without a backup, but would not use it for home defense. I changed the Strap buttons for strap locks more to nessecitate usuing my straps with it.

This guitar is the tops for me as far as electric acoustics go. I like martins and even own a low end Fender acoustic (the knocn around guitar)but this does it for me. If it were stolen I would have a hard time finding it new for the price Discount Music gave me. Musicians Friend and the locals had it for $1530. DM gave me a hell of a deal at $1200. I would still replace it for the same model.
