The sound is excellent unplugged and even better (because you have more control and variety) plugged in.

Got it used from Elderly via the net. Setup was excellent. The only issue I have is that the guitar seems a bit neck heavy, but so what!

You could play in a dry desert and go to the beach with it in minutes (if possible) it just doesn't seem to be affected by temp and humidity.

Don't know too much about Ovation, but I give Elderly a ten.

Over 40 years experience. Also have a Fender Strat VG. I compared this guitar to Rainsong and Composite Acoustics. Both were hard to find and seemed a bit brittle sounding.

2003 Adamas W597 CVT-CB (Cobalt Blue), made in USA. 22 frets, 14 clear of neck, deep cutaway allows access all the way up. Cross weave carbon fiber top in sweet deep blue. OP50 preamp. 5 piece neck made of mahogony, maple, and ebony, ebony fretboard and bridge. Gold tuners. Came with a genuine Ovation hardshell case. Very beautiful guitar
that has all the trimmings.

This guitar just sounds unbelievable. The thing just sings when you
strum it. I have tried other much higher priced guitars, (Martin, Taylor, etc.) and none compared to the deep rich sound of this guitar.
I play acoustic rhythm. I play mainly worship music. The guitar
sounds fantastic acoustically, although it could have a little more
volume. Plugged in it sounds great. Either way it has a rich full
sound with great lows and clear highs. I play it through a Behringer
ACX 1000 acoustic amp with stereo effects.

The only complaint I have is that the action wasn't exactly right when
I got it new. There is a little string buzz on a couple of the frets,
evidently the neck is not exactly where it should be. I will be tweaking it a little to get rid of the buzz. Also on the guitar top,
when held in the right light you can see slight bumps from the bracing
underneath. This is below the bridge. This is very slight but for a
guitar of this cost they probably should not be there. Other wise this
guitar looks stunning.

As the owner of several Ovations over the past 20 years I can attest to
their toughness and I believe that this guitar is no exception. The
hardware looks well made and the finish looks very nice. Strap buttons
are very solid. This is a very well made guitar and I will gig without
a backup.

I have not had to deal with Ovation directly but I have heard that
they are very good to deal with. This guitar has a limited lifetime
warranty.

I have been playing guitar for 20 years. I own 3 other Ovation acoustic
electric guitars. One is A 2001 Legend, a 1998 Legend 12 string and a
1983 Baladeer acoustic electric. I also own a Fender American Strat Plus, Fender all tube amp and a Boss BR-1180 8 track digital recorder.

Umm. I don't know if words can accurately describe how spectacular this guitar sounds both unplugged and plugged in. I have heard overtones I have never heard before. Deep bass ans ringing highs. I play praise and worship music and this thing just sings. I have never heard a guitar that sounds this good. No, not woody and boxy sounding, just awesome. Like a fine audiophile quality speaker flowing out tone. Please remember this is an Adamas. People like to say how awful Ovations sound unplugged. That is because they are playing a lami topped korean celebrity. Adamas guitars are state of the art. They are awesome!

The action was low and dead on right out of the box. I could easily finger barre chords all the way up the neck. I have been playing a Martin D1 recently until I got this one and the action on this one is much better. All a matter of a set up, I guess.
The fit and finish is excellent. All of the materials are top notch. My only (minor) complaint is the preamp. It is modular and is slightly loose. I also feel like i am going to break it when I put it in place.

This guitar has been described as a tank with tone like a cannon. This is an accurate description. This guitar will be very durable, based on the materials and quality of manufacture. Everything about it is solid. I would gig with it w/o a backup, but I will get a backup in case of string issues. Play it safe.

I have been playing about 6 years, about 2 years fanatically. I am hoping to begin playing worship music at church soon, and needed a top line instrument. Adamas fits the bill perfectly. This is the finest guitar I have ever owned. I have had about 15 acoustic and 4 electric guitars over the last 6 years, including 4 other Ovations, Taylor Big Baby (nice), Martin D1, Tacoma DM-18 and DM8C, Seagull S6+CW and Artist Rosewood Spruce, Ibanez, Takamine and a few others. I almost bought a Taylor 310ce koa with the ES, but it fell a little short of my expectations. I am a huge Taylor fan and might get a 110 or 214 as a backup. This Adamas is heads and shoulders above them all. If this thing got stolen, I could not afford to buy another, so I would be pretty ticked. I love this guitar and will keep it forever.

I was in the market for a good accoustic guitar. I wanted something with Body that was easy to play and that would sound equally good plugged into a house system jazzed up, clean or unplugged . I had been playing an Ovation Elite Standard for several years but where it was great plugged in it lacked Body unplugged (Shallow Bowl design does not project well unplugged). From the moment I picked it up It was everything I was looking and listening for. I was lloking for a traditional dreadnaught guitar but found my sound back in the world of composite guitars.

It doesn't get any easier than this. Built in tuner !! never be out of tune again. No one matched Ovations ability to amplify and accoustic guitar. They are the leaders in this area and have been for years. This guitar is a dream to ply and every spot on the guitar sounds great. Picture a black gloss sea with golden strands cris crossing within it. Flawless ,Simply Beautiful came dropshipped direct from the factory.

I work Building The Lockheed F22 and we use the same materials to build the worlds badest state of the art fighter jet. This thing is tough. My other ovation has worked flawlessly for 5 years . The only work I've had to have done was to replace the first 5 frets and that was more a result of my playing style than anything related to the guitar.

Like I said I've had another ovation that I've played for over 5 years. I gave up an epiphone 12 string when I bought the ovation. I got and epiphne special II electric and a Fender DG-16E-12 string and a 1964 Danelectro Dano Pro guitar. I play through 2 Zoom pedals, The 504 accoustic and the 505 .I play mostly in the worship team at church doing contemporary christian music. I needed a guitar that would sound as great through an effects box as is does straight accoustically. This thing sings. I tried $4,000.00 Martins, Taylors and even the Guilds I've dreamed of owning for many years and couldn't quite get the sound and feel I was wanting, Then I tried the Adamas , End of story.

The best acoustic steel string I've ever played, plugged or un-plugged. Outstanding tonal balance and unbelievable bass. Did I mention the incredible tonal balance? This baby is flat with seemingly no dead spots at all, anywhere on the neck.
You have to play one to understand what I'm describing, there's simply no other way.

Well, there is a bit of warp on the top when you look at it obliquely against a light source. No biggie because most do, and it doesn't harm the sound, playability, nor beauty. Unless you're an anal retentive type.

It feels solid and isn't as subject to weather changes as 100% wood is. Beyond that I can't say.

I've been playing for 35 years and owned many guitars. Played professionally and for personal enjoyment.
Not only does this guitar have such incredible frequency response all over the neck, but it never goes out of tune. It's intonation is as near to perfect as I imagine is possible, it's EXACTLY what I've been dreaming of forever.
I would buy this again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone I liked.
