Features are spectacular for the W597 CVT series Adamas guitar. Mine is a 2005. Made in the USA. The ?crossweave? woven graphite top with poplar core is extremely thin BUT much stronger than your average high end acoustic top. Ovations at times tend to have issues with the bride lifting due to the pinless bridge that tend to pull up. Absolutely no problems with this model as the top is extremely stable. Frets were in excellent shape and VERY level out of the factory. I tweaked the truss rod until I got the string height I prefer. This model features a mid-depth cutaway, ebony fretboard, no inlays for a clean look, woven graphite top with poplar core, ebony rear-loading pinless bridge, active Ovation pickup, OP50 preamp, ? inch and XLR inputs & ?Wave? sound ports, as opposed to the standard rosette.

The sound is spectacular! Very clear a precise! Not the complexity you would get from a Lakewood, Breedlove, Larrivee, etc......but very pleasing and consistant nonetheless. In fact I have pretty much ceased to play my Martin D-18 as this one is so much more comfortable to play. Also, the added flexability of an AC/EL gives me many, many more tones.

I have owned dozens of guitars and the Q597 would rank amongst the best where the factory set up is concerned. Fretwire was filed virtually to perfection. The frets for all purposes were level. (A very minor adjustment was needed in order make the set up perfect. The strings out of the factory are nothing to write home about but usually that is the case. I bought a custom-shop Fender electric that had many set up issues out of the factory. In summary this particular guitar was very well set up right from the get-go!!!

The guitar was meant to be played live! The XLR input jack is a REAL PLUS! Fit & finish are top notch! I have owned other Ovations and they are always dependable! I NEVER gig without a backup, unless an unbreakable string is invented!

I have been playing & instructing for 27 years! The Adamas Q597 is probably the most comfortable, most flexalbe & most enjoyable AC/EL I have owned to date! If the guitar were lost or stolen I would definately buy an other one! Superb sound & great bang for the buck!!!
