Wow. I have been playing an electric for about a year, and decided to get an acoustic after playing a friends Taylor. But, with a limited budget I had realistic expectations. That is, until I picked up this Parkwood! Now, I was skeptical as it was GC's house brand, but what a pleasant surprise! It is very soulful, and responds to touch - but it can get loud! I compared it to entry and mid level entries from Martin, Taylor and Larrivee and - believe me - it didn't take a back seat to any of them. In fact, I asked an experienced player to give it a try and after a few chords his eyes opened wide and he said -"Hell of a guitar!" He couldn't believe the price, and he was shopping for guitars that were 3-4 times the cost of the Parkwood. I almost had to pry it out of his hands....

Just beautifully made. I know a lot about wood, as I used to make furniture, and it is flawlessly constructed. Sitka spruce top, mahogany sides and back, great structural bracing, with an open-pore finish that really lets the character of the wood play an important role in the sound. Incredible sustain! Everything was set up perfectly, and the neck has a great profile and is easy to play.

Try to find anything as good within $300-400 of the price! I got mine on sale at GC for $399 with the gig bag included. This guitar is a sleeper and deserves a bigger following. You will not be disappointed!

Dread. Acoustic, Beautiful Open pore finish. Stunnng to look at and shines up nicely. Oh yea, the Gig bag that came with it is one of the best I've ever seen!

The tone is awesome, especially for a guitar that costs around $500. I sat and played this guitar, suggested by the salesman at GC, and compared it to many other "High End" acoustics, and I have to honest here, I loved the tone on this PW310m better most of the $2-$3,000 dollar Martins and Taylors! This is one loud guitar! Kudos go out to Parkwood for finally getting it right. That is to say, making sure the very talented Koreans keep their standards high! Remember, PRS lets them make their SE Es's!! If you haven't checked out Korean workamnship lately, you are really missing out. I used to be a "Hater" of anything not made in America, but unfortunately, money is very tight these days. I gotta do what I gotta do! After all, I am not a pro...just a guy who likes to strum...LOUDLY! I use D'Addario 12's, and after testing many many companies, they sound the best! Like a Grand Piano!

Finish is unique, Open Pore...Lets the wood "Breathe". I have had mine a full 2 years now. I play for at least 2 hours every single day, and this baby only improves with age! The area where you can often see other guitars "Rise" , where the bridge/saddle are mounted, is just as straight and level as the day I bought it! There is something to be said there, IMO. So many acoustics tend to rise after a few years. I have learned over the years to set up a guitar to my standards, so I do it myself. Any guitar is forever moving, as thats what wood does,.. so every once in awhile, you have to tweek things here and there. Very easy to do on this guitar. Tuners are outstanding. Grovers I think.

As stated before, I have had this ax 2 full years and play it 2 or more hours every day. Never broken a string, Never had any issues at all. Very dependable. I will replace the bridge pins soon, as I like to change strings a lot, and they are wearing thin.

I have never had to have any repairs, however, when it came time to replace a saddle, I called Pat Park at Parkwood/Praxis in California, and he was awesome and sent 3 of them out, for free, the next day...no charge at all(even free shipping!)!!! I ask you...who out there today is doing that???!!! I am sorry, but the 2 biggies (acoustic guitar makers) want over $30, including shipping, for the same exact thing! Way to go Pat Park! Thats what I call service AFTER the sale!

I think I've said all there is to say above. I think you would need to have your head examined if you didnt go down to your local GC and comare this axe to ones priced 2-4xs more! The product sells itself. It's that simple.

Nice sound. More like a larrivee.
Is it a Martin? No. Is it a Taylor. no. Is it better? Maybe.
It is a NICE guitar.
And it will sound better than most of the high end guitars in Guitar Center for this reason....
Guitar center don't care. Look at the Martins -the strings are from the 1920'ws and rusted to hell.
The Taylors are bright bright bright.
This this sings and has suuuuustain.

Good Action. Truly on Par with a Taylor or Martin.
Plus they send you a second saddle (seems like TUSQ), so you can experiment with different heights.
Its a nice little extra.

This I don't know.
It is very well constructed. But it is light (as it resonates wonderfully) and is every bit as well constructed as the higher counterparts. So yes, GIG away but you may be reluctant at first. Simply because the fit and finish is so beautiful because this is really a quality guitar.

No comment. -Actually these guys are responsive. I emailed them a questions before I ever played one and some guy in Cali answered me back. Really cool.

This is a NICE guitar. Sounds like a nice broken in Taylor 310 crossed with lower end Martin.
But LOUD!. The whole thing vibrates against your body when playing and the tone is nice. Just change the strings. D Addarios are not really guitar strings. Buy some Martin strings (I don't know why) but they sound better. My other main guitar is a Martin J15. It beats everything. Everything.
I have had all sorts of high end others. THis competes but does not exceed a Duss & Halton or Collings or a high end Martin or even A nice broken in Taylor.
Really it depends on the wood of each individual guitar and the user and other factors.
These guys evidently have a good stock of wood, build well and it will age well, because I reach for this guitar more often than not.
It is versatile and sounds great.
Best guitar in the world? NO.
But with the right headstock someone could easily charge $1000.
