All solid wood construction. Satin 'open pore' finish which looks really nice. Orchestra style body. Gotoh simulated ebony tuners (plastic). Spruce on mahogany. No electronics. Ebony bridge pins. Has only one strap button. Proudly made in China. Bought brand new. Comes with a free gig bag which featured very nice quality of construction, but was sadly hampered by awful design. The straps form a 'U'shape at the top where they join the case. The result is that the inner edge of this horseshoe shape is where all the weight lies, right on your neck. Sad, considering you could tell they didn't try to skimp on its build quality.

Sound : 9
I should qualify this rating by saying that I barely had time to play the guitar before returning it after a few days. Sound was adequate. It wasn't crazy sweet, but for the money, I was satisfied. With the all wood construction, I figured it would age nicely over the years. If you're a fan of the dreanought sound, you shouldn't be looking here, but if you like the delicate pluckiness of an OM style body, then this is right up your alley. It's not as tight and midrangey as some OM guitars I've tried. Still has enough bottom end to back for songs and stuff, which is why I bought it. With the spruce/mahogany combo, it's bound to sound a little generic. It's sound was like chicken, not terribly exciting, but should appeal to most.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
Changing the strings showed that the nut had been set up at the factory. I was impressed. The guy at Guitar Center tweaked the truss rod a little. That and the slender shape of the neck meant I left the store with a pretty sweet playing set up. Then I tried to change the strings. I tried to install a low E string, only to find that the bridge pin would not stay put and crept out as I raised the tension. Bad pin? Maybe, so I tried the A string. Same thing. One pin means quality control. Two bad pins means bad design. I think the problem is their funky recessed pin design, where the bridge is scooped out to allow a steeper string angle for better tone. But this increased angle also pulls at the pin in a way that it wouldn't if the angle wasn't there. Also, the pins or the bridge aren't cut in a way that allows clearance for the string, meaning even just the one time I tried to change a string meant that the string cut into the soft rosewood bridge, leaving bits of wood.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
See the above comment. I can't imagine that a bridge design like this will last over the years. The open pore finish is gorgeous, but I can tell you first hand that finishes like this don't last. It will turn glossy where your right arm rubs the body. Guitar has a fairly light construction, even accounting for the OM body, but I saw nothing structurally compromised in the short time I had it.

A little slim. Contact via email only. I emailed them Friday. It's only Monday today, but still haven't heard back. I figured this was a Guitar Center brand guitar anyway, so went to them for all my issues.

Overall Rating : 4
I've been playing for 25 years and have own several acoustics, though I admit to concentrating mostly on electric. I bought this guitar thinking it was a good deal, and I don't know, it still might be. If your guitar doesn't have bridge issues, then this may be the solid wood bargain of the century. Why didn't I just hold onto it and see what happens? I didn't want to take the risk.

Well... This guitar is pretty conservative as far as features go. It has a nice Solid Spruce top as well as Solid Mahogany sides. The one thing that made it stand out to me is the Open-Pore finish. It makes the sides look almost like a raw piece of wood, but it is very smooth to touch. It has Grover Tuners, and a Rosewood fret board. It does have a pretty cool Abalone diamond on the headstock though.

Sound : 10
I can play anything with this guitar... and I mean anything. This guitar can produce sounds ranging from "Life by The Drop"(SRV) to "Yesterday"(Beatles) to "Layla"(Eric Clapton). It actually has a pretty balanced tone to it... Not too bright, and it has a very and clear bass to it despite the smaller size... And the volume. Boy is this thing loud; I have family members get mad at me for playing it sometimes.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Well... This is the only aspect I was disappointed in. It had several finish bubbles on the neck, and 1 small speck a couple inches from the soundhole. I took it down to a local guitar repair store, and they got that fixed for me. Aside from that, everything is good... The wood quality is pretty nice, with a tight grain Solid Spruce top and Open-Pore Mahogany back and sides.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar would probably last live playing; I wouldn't know, I haven't tried. The tuner knobs are plastic, so I don't know how long that will last, but they are Grovers. The finish will more then likely last awhile, and the sides and back... Don't really have one? There is only one strap bottom on the bottom of the guitar, and I would more then likely gig without a backup.

I have been playing for 6 years, and this was my first acoustic. However, I also have a Gibson Flying V, Epiphone 1996 G-400 and a Fender Stratocaster. I was looking for a sort of Bluesy tone out of the guitar, and this one delivered. I went into Guitar Center set on getting a Seagull S6... I played it, and was about to buy it, when I saw that hanging on the wall. The Abalone diamond on the headstock and the Open Pore really caught my eye. I put the Seagull down, and picked this up. It blew away my expectations... If you are looking for an acoustic, get this one. Necessity for every guitarist to have in their collection. Period.

A light weight OM size made of solid wood. That is the bottom line for me,light weight with all solid woods. Sitka Spruce and Mahogany. Scalloped bracing, no filler used on back and sides with a thin satin finish.14 frets to the body.No pickguard.Very clean construction. 25.3 fret scale. According to serial number made in 2003,but it was taken from a sealed box for me at the GC. Straight ahead acoustic no electronics.I will replace the plastic tuning buttons with wood but the stock buttons would be fine for the life of this guitar.

Sound : 9
I imagine it will open up over time but it has a very good sound at present, good sustain ,not sure yet about note separation.I feel its more suited to fingerstyle. The sales person at GC strummed it with a pick and based on that I would not have purchased it. I use flesh and nail and pull the strings on a slight angle which pulls out some very intersting tones from this comfortable guitar.I would think that single note playing with a pick could be nice as well but not with a thin pick.I put it in dadgad and it held its own for a smaller guitar, so that is a feature for me. Sounds just fine for fingerstyle blues.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Right out of the box it plays ok . Since this is personal and varied it's all a matter of ones overall approach. I always lower the nut and saddle, or have it done. Over time I will get the truss rod where it works best for this guitar. Frets feel good. Fingerboard is bound. I ilke the finish. The bridge seems like a novel idea(check out the website). The one I have has a very nice sitka top very light in color.I don't bend much on acoustic but the b string seemed easy to bend,it came with light gauge strings. I prefer exra light.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar is light but very well constucted. The finish is thin. I think it will be OK. I have no worries about durability.

Limited lifetime warranty, even at this price .

I have been playing a long time and have played (like most of us)hundreds of guitars over the years. We know what we like and what we don't like.I have had them all at one time or other.Currently I have several guitars from this price range up including handmade guitars.
I did compare this to some high end guitars and other Parkwoods in the store. For the price the playability ,the sound ,it was the right guitar to get. Go try one out.

Made in Korea, 2006. Made of all solid woods in Grand Auditorium style. Spruce top, mahogany back & sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, ebony bridge. Open pore (satin-ish) finish is very thin and feels great.

Sound : 10
I compared this one to the upper grade model of Parkwood which has the lacquer finish and rosewood back & sides, and believe or not, this one sounded so much better despite the fact that the price is almost 2/3 of the other one. This open pore finish is much thinner than poly urethane or lacquer, so the body woods have more room to vibrate. The sound is VERY clear and woody.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I give it 8 because when I checked out the guitar first, the neck was waving... it was pretty bad. So I had to ask the guy at the store to set up a bit. Now the neck is streight and has just a few fret buzz at the high position where I never play. So I'm cool with it. The neck is narrow but has prenty thickness, very easy to play. The frets are midium jumbo-ish but bit lower, very well finished and shiny. The finish was again, very nice and feels & sounds great.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I haven't had the guitar long enough to judge yet, though, I had to adjust the neck once at the store already, and I have done that at home once again. Other than that, nothing is wrong with it, so I would give it 8.

Never dealt with Parkwood... and never will.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for 15 years. I've had a BUNCH of guitars so far and I'm VERY picky. So believe me, 9 to me is VERY high. I usually do not buy guitars at large retail stores, but I just fell in love with this guitar once I've tried it. The craftmanship is superb-it is exremely well made with high quality solid woods. Well it would be cool if they make the same model with a cutaway and electronics for the finger pickers like me. They only have A/E models with the lacquer finish and rose back & sides, and in dreadnought/jumpo style, I believe. I'm very happy with the guitar though. Can't wait to make some recordings with it!!

Solid wood top(spruce), back & sides(mahogany). Grand Auditorium body. Has a fantastic "open pore" satin finish, you can feel the grain. I give it a 9 or the solid wood contructions and finish, there really are no other features to speak of.

Sound : 9
Love the sound of this guitar, that's the only reason to buy any guitar. I tried this guitar while looking for a jumbo and I ended up playing this one for 1/2 an hour. It's amazing how load this guitar despite a small body. This guitar sounds better the more you play it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action is fine, I was going to lower it a little, but my Ovation is already setup like an electric so I left this one alone. The fit is good, it's well constructed and the open pore finish is what I like about this guitar(aside from tone). I didn't want a guitar that looked like a polished coffee table.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Can't say anything about durability/reliability. I plan on taking care of this guitar. The most road it will see is the occasional trip to a friends house. I did shred a bridge pin (plastic) trying to get it out.

Customer Support : 9
I sent a email letting them know about the bridge pin. They replied the next day and sent out a new set of pins & a t-shirt and apologized for any trouble. I'm not happy with plastic pins but the service was great.

Overall Rating : 9
Have played for 28 yrs. I have an Ovation, a no name 12string Hummingbird copy, Gibson Les Paul, and a Fender Telecaster. I wasn't shopping for anything like this guitar. When I found out it was made by Cort, I tried to convice myself that it wasn't worth buying. I spent hours playing every guitar there and this is the one I bought. Of course if I had $2000 to spend I would have bought something else. This is a great value and beats everything else in that price range. If it was lost or stolen I'd get another Parkwood but maybe the pw-370m (concert grand with electronics and a cutaway)

This is a satin finished ALL WOOD guitar. Grover tuners, rosewwod fingerboard. Mine has a 25.5 scale lenght and did I mention ALL WOOD, no ly wood here. other than that it is a simple guitar and a bit of a plain jane. It has a solid spruce top and mahogany sides and back. not much pearl work but all the binding is installed very well with no gaps and onlt a little back stripe.

simple yet tasteful

Sound : 10
This is where this guitar reall shines. It is very loud yet very expressive. the balance between high and low stings is extremely even. the highs are crisp and complex without being brittle or jangley. the lows are tight and and smooth without being muddy at all. When strummed the tone is compares to guitars that cost almost twice as much (I did a side by side with a gibson and a taylor). the tone can be very smooth and full. when finger picked the balance of the highs to lows is a thing to behold.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
the action was a little bit high when I brought it home, but I took around 1/32" off the bridge and fixed that. the neck is very straight and the fret job was near perfect. there is not a fleck of fret sticking out beyond the finger board (a pet peeve of mine). my only two issues: 1) not neck strap button and 2) a bone nut would have improved the tone.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have only had this for a couple of weeks but it seems to be built to last, and the finish seems kind of thin. time will tell how it will hold up.

I would suggest you get a case humdifier for it. This is because it's an all wood guitar and if it gets too dry bad things happen

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't had to take it in and I doubt I ever will. but does come with a lifetime warranty, if it makes you feel better

Overall Rating : 10
this is the only guitar I found under $1000 that sounded and plaed this good. I have been playing guitar for over 40 years and own some very fine gear, but for the cost and how great it sounds, this is likely one of the best investments I've ever made. I picked up for $500 (case included) brand new and I would not feel like the poor cousin sitting in a room with martins, gibsons, taylor, breedloves... you name it. The guitar sounds that good
