I'm brand new to classical guitars and I bought the cedar top TP-30. I really was not sure about my purchase (more on this later). The TP-30 has solid East Indian rosewood sides and back, ebony fretboard, reinforced neck, bone nut and saddle, and a 650mm string scale. It came in a wonderfully sturdy hard-shell case and the guitar fits snug in it. It has a classical look with a slightly reddish top. The tuners are as stable and sturdy as I've seen and I own a Taylor 815ce as well as a gibson les paul.

As I stated, I wasn't sure about my purchase. Did it sound good like a classical guitar should? I certain liked the way it sounded but wasn't sure what it was supposed to sound like. So, I went and played many high-end classical guitars at a guitar shop. WOW!!! They all sounded like trinket guitars for children compared to the TP-30!!! I am 110% convinced that my guitar is the best and am thrilled with the sound. I can't seem to put the guitar down.

I underestimated the care required for a classical guitar - managing humidity. Although this isn't particular to my pavan, it is an issue that all need to address when purchasing a classical guitar. I ended up purchasing a HumiCase Humidification Kit and will install that in my guiar case I purchased from Pavan so I can maintain 50% humidity in my guitar case. However, I rate this a "10" because there is simply nothing that can be done about humidity other than controlling it. Pavan guitars are manufactured in 50% relative humidity.

The guitar comes with a warranty but frankly I am not concerned about it.

I am an extremely picky, detail oriented, person. I've bought guitars/amps and returned many in less than 2 weeks time because they didn't sound/handle the way I thought they should. With my TP-30, I was initially uncertain about my purchase. Now, I want to buy another one just to have because the one I have is so fantastic. However, another classical guitar may come out in the future that I may compare to my TP-30. I'm not too confident that I will ever find such a guitar and that is why I'm leaning toward purchasing another one from Tom. For now, I will wait and see.
