Rainsong JM1000

If you are looking at this you already know the specs. In the past I have played several in stores that had Fishman pickup systems. This one has an L.R. Baggs Element.

Comes with Elixir lights installed, which seem rather stiff. Although playability is good out of the box, for me it will be improved with a lower tension set of strings.

I wish they had a cut-a-way in the Jumbo, and it would be great to have tuner in the electronics.

Yes this is a big guitar with a huge sound. The volume of this guitar will over take most others. Played with a pick you can make the thing will chug or sing. Fingerpicked it is extremely clear. Full firm round sounds with great bass response. Note decay is very very long. String to string sound balance is wonderful, all the way up the neck. This is an exceptionaly articulate guitar. If you are a sloppy player it's gonna show up.

Previously I had a WS1000 that arrived with several finish flaws, wrinkles in the fabric, several small surface scratches, and action that was outside of Rainsongs stated spec. Looking inside with a mirror showed huge amounts of over glueing, it just looked sloppy, I returned it.

A year later I have ordered the JM1000. This guitar has no finish issues, no wrinkles or scratches, action is good out of the box. Using a mirror to look inside all body seams look clean, no over glue. Wiring for the pickup is well routed, cleanly wraped and placed.

It was bought for everyday playing, giging, and use in my home recording studio. So far it fits all my needs and expectations.

Been playing for almost 40 years. Currently not giging just recording oringals in my home studio. have tons of gear collected over the years as I never sell anything I am happy with, or think i might use again. This guitar will be added to the collection.

If this where stolen the day the insurance check arrived I would be out to get another.
