made in 1998. Right before Rainsong moved from Hawaii to Washington...
the original owner was a collector... bought it new... kept it in it's case (in a closet).... 6 years later he sells it... to me....
It's got 22 nickel frets. (I called Rainsong... they said they did not use stainless steel frets on the JZ-1000)
EMG 89 active pickups..
Shadow piezo pickups...
beautiful case..
FLAT TOP jazz box!!!!! awesome.... about 3 inches thick.. so it's REALLY comfortable to play....
Every ounce of this guitar is BEAUTIFUL woven graphite...
Grover tuners...
The neck is truly comfortable to play... I'm not a big fan of today's flat necks... this neck is a comfortable cross between the old fender baseball necks and the newer flat thin necks.. hard to explain.. i can play it for hours..

This puppy suits ANY type of music style..
this guitar has an AMAZING range of tones...
WARNING!!!!.... at first the Graphite sound is kind of hard to understand.... Graphite doesn't absorb ANY of the vibration from the strings..... So you've got an incredibly FULL signal to work with.... the bass is there.... and the mids.... so is the treble... so the tone control becomes your friend.... allowing you to trim off the higher frequencies.... just like a regular guitar... but you've got to think about it a little more... and REALLY pay attention to your sound....
Jazz tones: smooth jazz, shoot..... you name the tone....Wes Montgomery,Grant Green, Jimmy Bruno.. this guitar has it in it...
Blues: this thing will sound like a strat.... les paul... 335... all of them..
Country... chicken pick your heart out cause this puppy can actually sound like a telecaster...
It distorts really well... and sustains forever...
oh yeah.... the acoustic piezo's are AMAZING... i think mainly because this guitar is actually an acoustic guitar also..... perfect.... perfect....

I've got a little issue with the b string being routed too low at the nut... but a little pencil lead and it's all better..
other than that... this guitar is perfect...
oh yeah.... I've got Thomastik Infeld JS112's on it... Rainsong's don't have truss rods... and they come with a little booklet that reccomends Elixer 12's...... I love Thomastik's so i called them.... they said that the JZ-1000 was actually DESIGNED to be played with Thomastik JS112's, but they've got a deal with Elixer strings....... I looked at their press release flyer... and sure enough.. thomastik's on that guitar..

I've had it for about a month.. This guitar replaced my Epiphone Broadway on my jazz gigs.... and my telecasters on rock gigs..
I cannot stress this enough.... this is the finest PRODUCTION guitar i've ever played.. I've got a custom hollow korina telecaster with a Moses Graphite neck, Q-tuner Pickups and graphtech ghost system that plays like a dream.... The JZ-1000 is honestly (don't tell my tele) my favorite...
If it were stolen... I would hunt the person down and choke them with my high "e" string... then i'd dispose of the body in a way that CSI wouldn't catch me... then i'd go home and pamper my JZ-1000....
Love everything..
hate nothing..
I wish it came with a record contract.... and maybe a hundred million dollars... but hey... can't have everything...

This guitar has everything, some of the more noteable features are as follows:

Stainless Steel Frets
Gorgeous case w/ picks etc.

The sound is absolutely incredable! It fits my style perfectly, I play Jazz, World, Fusion, and Blues music and I honestly would pick this guitar over any other on the market. It's flawless! Very clear and articulate. If you suck, the JZ1000 will let you know it. I use it with a variety of amps, but mostly an Ampeg Reverberocket or a Polytone MiniBrute IV. I don't use many effects except for Reverb (Built into Amp), Delay (Usually DD-3), and the occasional Overdrive (MXR Distortion+). The guitar is infinately flexible with tone. The EMGs and the Shadow sound great on their own but you can also use both pickup systems at the same time.

It looks awesome! The graphite body really has a lot of depth and style. It's even more impressive on stage. The factory set-up as far as action wasn't perfect, but I'm quite picky. Frets were perfect. Pickups were adjusted almost perfectly, again I'm really really picky. As far as factory set ups, it was one of the best I've seen.

This guitar definitley withstands live playing. Of course I'd never gig without a backup playing any guitar but if by chance I forgot a backup or something it wouldn't bother me that much with this guitar. The hardware seems like it will last forever. Of course the graphite will outlast any cut of wood plus it is infinitley more resistant to humidity and pressure. The strap buttons are solid. Very dependable.

I've been playing for about 8 years. I own several other guitars and stringed instruments of various makes. I have no regrets about buying this guitar. If it were stolen or lost I'd try to track down another, but they're discontinued now so I doubt I'd find one. I love everything about it, my favorite feature is either the graphite itself or the pickup combinations. I was in the market for a Semi-Hollow or Hollow body guitar. I compared it with almost every other hollow body guitar out there especially the Gibson ES-335, CS-336, ES-137 Custom, and Steve Howe Signature. I definitley prefer this one, you get a better tone and flexibility. Plus, this guitar is totally unique, I've never seen another player with it. Overall, best guitar I've ever played.
