These all come in one color, black carbon graphite, with the mahogany neck and back, mother of rosette. The neck is a little thick, probably more like a Les Paul, but the action and playability make up for the thickness. Mine has Fishman prefix electronics, but I believe the newer models have changed to another brand. The 4 band eq with a Notch filter ,frequency, balance, and phase give you more controls than you could ever possibly need or want. Grover tuners finish out a nicely equipped package. Mine was assembled in Woodinville Wa, but I have only just learned that there are some assembled in Mexico. This guitar makes quite a statement when cleaned up! It absolutly sparkles!!! It also comes with a very nice form fit case.

I sold my Martin to buy this, and had extra cash and a better uitar in the long run!!! I am mainly a strummer, playing Country, Jimmy Buffett, and Classic Rock. This thing has an amazing sound!!! Without a question, it rings loud and true, and I am told the total carbon guitars are even louder! It is so versitile!!! You can play almost any tyoe of music. the sustain and tone are so full, getting the highest highs and the lowest of lows! The sound is very well balanced, and probably more guitar than I will ever need!! you can play fingerpicking and sound way above your true ability level ( I am an old metalhead converted, to fingerpicking isn't a strenght)

I bought mine used on ebay, but believe that this was a stock set up, based on the corispondence from the prior owner. It is a dream to play!!! rock solid and very low action, with zero fret buzz. Mine is flawless!!! As stated before, the Carbon makes this a real head turner!

This guitar is an absolute TANK!!! It stays in tune regardless of what you subject it to, and I am told the all carbon guitars are even more durable. I have had this guitar in some very extreme conditions, 125* at the summer Buffett show, and it stayed perfectly in tune. It was so hot and humid that the strings rusted solid!!!!
The one thing I wish is that it had a strap button at the neck, which it does not. I have played several places and not taken a back up, which isn't smart, but I am that confident of it's durability.
I would have never subjected my Martin to what I have put this thing through.

I have been playing for 20 years or more, had countless brands and styles, and as my styles and tastes change, so do my demands-wants.
This guitar is so adaptive and durable, I probably won't ever need another guitar (although I am always looking!!!) I love this guitar, and would never give it up unless forced by gunpoint!!! If something ever happened, I would replace it with the all carbon guitars, I believe it has a slightly thinner neck, but wouldn't even consider anything but a Rainsong!! This blows away my Martin, Alvarez, and certainly my Ovation. I don't even look at My poor lonely Strat and Tele anymore, as this thing is way more fun to play!!!

Projection series; P-GA1000.
Features described elsewhere; this is a new one and comes with TKL-made case with the RainSong emblem plate on the case exterior. An ordinary, but sturdy black/grey interior case from TKL. Good tuners appear to be Grover. Top is graphite gray and looks very 'clean' and like a fabric. No flaws anywhere and the inlay at the headstock and the colorful abalone-type rosette are well done. Frets are a bit small for my taste, but they are what they are as is the 'fat' neck. Rated '10' because of the good Fishman 'Prefix' electronics with phase switch, bone nut/saddle, good tuners, and very good build quality. For under $900, it's a good value. It's not the best guitar for the money, but it is a cool guitar with a very good design and a unique sound and it definitely is a 'chick magnet' cosmetically.

My review take into account having played the WS1000 as well.
I have a Taylor 314CE, owned a Taylor 25th Anniveersary dread, have a Gibson LC-2 Sonoma, had several good Martins and have a couple of professional grade classicsls and a Vicente Carrillo flamenco negra. This RainSong GA1000 is a very good sounding guitar for under $900 retail and no discount (full retail is $1330). I rate it a 9 because it competes very favorably and possibly surpasses the more expensive model for about $1700 (WS1000) sound-wise. I have played both for at least 10-15 minutes in the same room at the Richmond Music demo room, though weeks apart. The WS1000 is really LOUD!. But I believe maybe the GA1000 is better balanced. It is definitely a better value at about 1/2 the price! It is not a better value than the Larrivee L-05 I currently am in love with (no electronics) at $1150 w. case. That guitar is probably the best $1000-1500 guitar I ever played and I have owned literally dozens of guitars over the past 4-5 years (I buy and sell them freely at about 3-4 a year).
The RainSong P GA1000 sound: very clear, good trebles and mids with a pronounced 'jangle' and very good sustain (like Taylor small bodies). It is a different sound than all wood, but mahogany and the unbraced graphite top work well together. Not particularly loud acoustically, but clear, spearated, and balanced; a tad weak and not resonant on the bass side, but firm. Amplified the bass is no problem, and most guitars are too bassy when plugged in but this one 'behaves'. Good electronics: an undersaddle Fishman 'Prefix' system works well (same as in the Taylor 314CE before the Expression system introduction). I'd assume the sound will improve only a little because the top is inert and the back and sides do not contribute to the sound like the top (do you guitar fans rememeber Torres' papier mache' classical?). But it is a good sound and suits the look and feel of the guitar: bold, clear, crisp, modern.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
Action: OK, but improves with the nut shaved off the bottom about 1/32 to get about 3/32 and 4/32 at treble/bass @ 12th fret from fret to sring bottom. It's a factory guitar, so tweaks are needed, but stock setup is decent. Bone nut is well cut for the strings and the bone bridge is compensated and angle-cut on the bottom (forward tilt) for correct string angle on the bridge. I'd like to see the tuner posts about a 1/16 longer on the top side. This guitar requires you to wind the strings on only a few full turns to reach standard tuning, so you have to be precise. I use the Fralin method: thru the post, wrap string over the top and then under on next revolution and continue on downward; it locks the thru portion between wraps above and below. Use Fast Fret and wipe under the strings carefully to get maximum string life.
Finish: flawless outside with a good headstock shape and inlay and looks good inside, but the label was not perfectly smoothed down. That is one detail that should be perfect. They should also stamp the model number on the label rather than handwrite it and use a cool font to add 'eye-value'. But for fit and finish, I rate it a '10'; it's as good as anything I have seen and typical of Korean guitars of quality. Korean stuff is like the Japanase Strats from the "80's": excellent build and value.
Reliability/Durability

It's brand new, but others here rave about the durability. Mahogany is not real sturdy, but a laminated back should be pretty durable. Good cured urethane finish is glossy, but not too thisck on the back/sides (you can see the wood grain ripples). I'll rate a '10' based on the tuners, over-all looks of the build, and feel. I've played some guitars and this one looks sturdy and feels like it.

I'll rate it a '9' over all. Sound is very good, but not a 10. Cosmetics are subjective, but it is a '10' for it's uniqueness, design, color, and tasteful appointments. It beats the $1700 big brother easily for value and sounds as good or better, in my ear.I played both enough to get the feel for each.
It's not a fine wooden guitar and it has it's own sound and it looks very sharp on stage. For my money, the Larrivee L-05 is the best value easily as an acoustic and sounds gorgeous and better to my ear than all but the finest ($3000+) Taylors and most any Martin.

This is an acoustic guitar comprised of a graphite soundboard and laminated mahogany back and sides, and a 25.4" scale, mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard. It has mother of pearl dot inlays on the fretboard and a beautiful abalone rosette inlayed into the soundboard. It also has a bone nut and saddle, and abalone inlaid Tusq? bridgepins.
It has a Fishman Prefix Plus pickup system, and chrome plated, non-locking Grover tuners with 1:14 gear ratio.
A hardshell case is included.

Acoustically, it sounds full, rich and even, like a good quality acoustic guitar should. I didn't plug it in, so I can't comment on its amplified sound.
Action, Fit, & Finish

I looked it over very carefully and found no flaws of any kind in the fit and finish. The inlaid abalone rosette is just gorgeous. I thought it would be glued on top, like Ovations used to be, but instead, it's inlaid right into the carbon.

This guitar appears to be very durable, and I think it's a great compromise to get most of the advantages of graphite without paying huge dollar amounts for the all graphite RainSongs.

I've been playing for over 20 years and own tons of gear. My only wish is that this had a much thinner neck profile. The neck is big, round and chunky, like a Les Paul. I prefer the thin Jackson/Ibanez feel. The all-graphite RainSongs have very nice, thin necks, which I love, but they're over twice as much money.

Using it to play folk & pop music from the past 40 years. The sound is rich and full and can compete with guitars that cost twice as much.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:9
The action required some minor adjustment at the dealer (based on my preferred playing style---strings closer to fretboard).
The guitar had no flaws in the wood or finish.
The finish is clear and shows the three-dimensional beauty and distinction of the graphite's weave.
Reliability/Durability

I have not used it for live playing yet, but defninitely would given the chance. I've had it for 1 year with no problems whatsoever and I play it daily. Most climate related problems in wooden instruments appear on the soundboards. RainSong's graphite soundboard is guaranteed not to belly, sink, or crack with changes in humidity or temperature.

The Graphite soundboard is amazing. It creates a truly unique sound that is full. I would defeinitely purchase it again. If money were no obstacle, I'd probably purchase the WS-1000 which has an all Graphite body (slightly better sound and more durability), but for the price the P-GA1000 is an excellent value.
