Features: solid "catalpa" wood construction made in china for Recording King, 3/4 size, 22 frets with 000 style body with silkscreened "senorita/cowboy" finish. Tuners are open geared vintage style with plastic knobs and could use maybe a drop or two of machine oil. Tuners seem effective but the knobs feel kind of cheap. Neck has a rosewood fingerboard and, surprisingly, is bound with white/cream plastic. The fretboard is completely flat, and my sample was even a bit concave. The neck is relatively fat with thin frets. Comes with a white/gold embrodered "Recording King" strap and a western song book
Sound

The guitar has a bright and unique sound with fresh strings. The strings mine came with seemed like heavy gauge electric strings. I swapped these out for a set of light gauge Martin strings lying around. The sound is almost banjo like but not unpleasant.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action was fine out of the box, but the factory strings were of poor quality. The construction seems solid, but peering through the sound hole, the glue joints and construction resemble that of my son's First Act starter guitar. Nonetheless, the guitar feels solid and is rather heavy. It feels heavier than my Epiphone Hummingbird. The finish and graphics are very good, and I was surpised about the bound neck, but the main flaw of the guitar is the flat-radius fingerboard. Nontheless, it played fine with a no buzz using better strings. The plastic nut and bridge are only fair and could have been cut better. In time, I my replace both.
Reliability/Durability

I bought this guitar basically for the graphics and to use as a "fun" travel/bang it around and not worry type of guitar and for that purpose it will definitely fit the bill. It seems fairly durable and as I said, has a "solid" heavy feel to it for a 3/4 scale guitar. Overtime, I may replace the nut/bridge and maybe put on jumbo frets on account of the flat fingerboard. If it weren't for the flat fingerboard this would have been a superior value guitar. But for $70 bucks, you can't really complain.

I've been playing for 23 years and own alot of instruments. This is not on par with any acoustic in the above $150 price range. However, this instrument is probably on par with the Gretsch Americana and may be superior in some respects and does have a nice distinctive sound. The only real issue I have with it is the flat fingerboard, but the guitar nonetheless is very playable. It fits the bill for a fun/ travel type guitar. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it as a student instrument.
