Its a Resonator! Not much you can do for such a traditional style of guitar although this one has an embossed Hawaiian scene and an aged green patina. Slotted headstock, roundneck MOP dot markers. Tuners hace plastic buttons and stems but work well so far.

Thsi is what you pay for with any guitar right? These things are a bargain. I've played and owned many reso's over the years including Nationals, Dobro's, a Donmo, and a Continental. My National sounds more 'alive' than this republic but its worth ten times the price. My non-musician friends can't tell the difference between the sound and several prefer the look!
Action, Fit, & Finish

Overall finish is good. My guitar suffered some transit damage on its trip from the states (broken neck heal join) Once repaired the action is perfect for fingerstyle although I will raise it a little for slide as I like big strings and high action. The neck is great for slide just the right width and no flaws in the silky smooth finish.

This guitar will stand pretty well anything you throw at it. Its solid and heavy and apart from the neck issues appears well built. The only questionable part may be the tuners which I may upgrade at some stage although they hold their tune well.

When my guitar arrived with a broken neck I emailed Frank who offered to replace it with another at no cost to me which considerring postage costs was excellent service IMO. I got the guitar repaired locally and Frank was happy to cover the cost. There are not many sellers in the cyber arcade that are prepared to stand behind their product the way Frank does!

This is my reso for playing out and given its tone and mojo I expect it will be stolen somday. When that happens I'll swear a little and email Frank for another without hesitation.
