Basic Martin look alike, nice finish, looks like solid spruce top mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, enclosed tuners, rosewood bridge and fretboard. Nice checkered stripe on back and dark banding. I set it on a stand for easy access...looks great.

I have seen rediculously low prices for this guitar and all Samicks for that matter. But for the money you can't beat the sound. I fingerpick and flatpick and both sound good. Especially good for bluegrass flatpicking.

Action was a little high due to neck out of adjustment. I lowered it a little with a new saddle. Overall though the guitar has a good feel. Not the same as my Martin D18 but then I didn't pay the big bucks for the Samick. You could do much much worse with other guitars no matter the cost.

I bought the guitar learn how to work on it. I replaced the saddle with bone, and also repaired a brace that had broken away. Payed only $35 for the guitar so figure I couldn't lose. The guitar had a 2 ft. piece of all-thread running through it and a small lock body for a tuner key when I got it. Somebody really loved this guitar before me to do all that work. I played it with the bolt for over a year then took it out. Don't know if they wanted to use it like a truss rod or what but it didn't seem to make a difference. I still enjoyed it with the bolt.

As you can tell I really like the guitar, and the jerryrigged luthery just added to the mistique. Couldn't sell it because it is worth much more to me than you can get in the market.
