Pretty top with a lot of figuring. Seems to be pretty solid. Grover tuners. Plays great. On board EQ (sliders) and volume with a knob which I prefer because you can tweak it faster.

Sounds fine not a lot of bottom, but good mids and highs acoustically. Plugged in it sounds great, completes with much expensive models.

Bought this in late 2005. Needed a narrower body that my earlier dreadnaught, due to a stroke.
Have played as a hobby for 46 years, different kinds of music. I'm considered OK, but not Les Paul. Have owned at least a dozen, and played more guitars.
Never wanted to play or mess with a plastic back Ovaation style guitar.
Looking for the narrow neck, played this Schecter reluctantly in a local guitar shop.
Was and am still amazed! This little sucker is great! It is pretty, did order an expensive ($30) stick-on pick guard (as it did not come with one. Looks nice with the guard I don't notice any sound change)

Play a variety of music that suits old fogies. Classical, old R+R, old Rock, Country. Basically just a hic, but can play some flamenco and classical. Not real bad.
Mostly play without an amp. This guitar has good volume and sounds great amplified of not.

Action- as good as I have seen, (except maybe a Breedlove I played). This little guitar likes to be played! No complaints at all with the action.
Changed the original strings to the 'EARTH' lights. This caused a slight vibration, but 1/2 turn and time on the adjustable rod took care of that.
No problems or complaints!
As for finish, looks good to me. Pretty. Looks almost as good as my wife, but has a different feel. (nuff of that)

Closed Grover tuners. They should hold up, and look good and the tuning stays well, after the new strings get tired of stretching.
The plastic back will surely last a long time. About the rest, it all looks solid to me. Time will tell.

I bought this thing for a little under $300. Had to buy a case separately. Have had no problems, and have not tried or had need to call customer support. This seems to be one fine instrument. A lot of more expensive guitars are not this playable. No comlaints whatsoever!

Am 60 years old. Have a couple of nylon classicals. Have owned probably 20 guitars. Started playing at 14. (46 years ago) Am pretty good by now (knowing all 3 of the chords!!!)
Love th guitar.
If I had to replace it, it would be ASAP. About the best playing guitar I have seen.
Except for the lack of a pickguard, I find no problems with this fine instrument. It talks to me!!

As allready mentioned the guitar has a Mapple laminated top, kind of smokey gery, Schecter call it trans black. Lovelly looking. Abalone binding all round. Mapple mat finished neck which is smooth and quick. Rosewood finger board with pearl and abalone in lays. The back is composite, I believe some kind of toughend plastic its nice and comfortable sitting or standing. I believe it's made in Korea and then shippend to scheter in the US were they check and set them up. Grover tuners which are nice and smooth stays in tune after a good play. The electronics are good, diamond Piezo at the bridge,4 band eq you can shape the shound to whatever you want. It is beautifull to look at.

I like to play quite a few styles. Chords open and barred sound smooth with plenty of clarity on all ranges with plenty of volume unplugged. Finger style and picking, you can find your self picking a bit harder on the notes to get them all sounding well definde and clear but plugg it in and this problem disapears. Very feedback ressistant. The overall sound I would have to describe as very smooth and warm unplugged, plugg it in and you get this plus you can add extra brightness to the overall sound. I am impressed. I have played and owned quite a number of guitars in my 14 years playing including Ovation, Yamaha, Takamine etc and this compares with the best of them for sound.

The guitar was fit to play as soon as I got it home nothing needed adjusted other than a slight tuning from the transport home, the action was perfect. I did not get a cse with this so I purchased a nice paded gig bag. The finish on this was spot on everything was neet and no little stains of varnish or glue were it should'nt be.

I got the guitar 3 months ago and have used it live once I needed to tune
it slightly after about 6 songs. I play it at practice once a week and all throuhg the week at home. It seems to me that this guitar is built to last, nothing is worn or damadged. After a good 40-50 hours of play still tunes as new plays as good as he day I got it. I do plan to pick up another accoustic for finger style playing as this is an area I am currently developing in and it is not 100 percent suited to that style of play.

Looking on the Schecter website you get a life time warranty for all guitars so long as you have the shop receipt.

Overall I am exceedingly happy with this guitar I picked it up after sevral price drops and as my cash is stretched at the moment for the money and for what I wanted (a good dependable electric/accoustic that would do me well for live play and song writing) I believe I got just that and more. The only thing I would gripe about is everyone seems to have got a hard case with their's, Thats probably just the shop. My choice for this guitar was it was diffrent from what I thought I wanted I was originaly going for tanglewood. It just looks and sounds and plays 100%.

Acoustic made in the 1990's. 21 frets active eq, with volume, treble, mid and bass. Piezo pickup. Nice quilted top. Plastic molded back. Maple neck with rosewood top. Grover tuners. Hard case included.

Sounds pretty bad. Doesn't have any of the sound qualities that a acoustic should have, it's just a flat sound. Amplified is a little better but it's still so flat. It's not noisy plugged in, but it's not anything! I wish it would do something, Make some kind of noise, ANYTHING! It also has the worlds smallest neck. I can't jam my fingers in there to do anything. I was trying to play "Longer" a Dan fogelberg song, and I tried and tried to play it clean and I couldn't do it. It's a simple song! I couldn't get the small neck to work for me.

Fits real nice against your body with the plastic molded back. Binding is poorly done and seems to be separating. It did stay in tune pretty good.

I used this guitar for 2 months before I stopped playing it. The binding was looking like it was going to blow. I wouldn't take this guitar anywhere but back to the guy that was so happy to lend it to me.

Looks like a ovation. Plays and sounds a little better than a $99.00 Harmony, maybe. No I take that back a Harmony sounds better, way better. The big reason it's so bad it just doesn't compare to others in that $600.00 retail/sells for $350.00 price range. Very sad.

Before I'd like to comment,I would just like to say that you get out
of it what you put in it!!I've owned (by
most peoples standards)
some really bad acoustic guitars. And by far this rig is the best
I've ever owned!!It stacks up very well to similar thin shallow bodied
electric/acoustics,such as ovation, and Yamaha's APX series which both
inhibit some of the same characteristics. This guitar suits my ability
very well(chords mostly)when all by it's self it's very bright and
defined and when plugged in there are unlimited options (useing some
effects of coarse) The piezo pickup handles the warmest chorus to
the high gain channels with no cliping! The harmonics(tapped and even
pinched) are gut wreching. As far as dislikes there really are none
except for that full robust sound you can attain with a deep wide
bodied guitar(I miss that)!!

This guitar is set up well from the grovers to the bridge! The action
is nice the harmonics are hot,and I think the wood quality is the
finest that can be attained! (not so hot on the plastic back)

I do believe this guitar will stand the test of time! The hardware
seems strong, the wood is maple, rosewood laminated finish the on
board EQ is solid I do depend on this rig! and it's never let me
down yet! Bring a 9volt battery and a extra set strings and hit
the road!!!!

Thin body, laminated top, 'plastic' back, piezo under the saddle pickup, onboard eq with volume, bass, middle, treble, presence controls. Grover machines. Amber quilted maple top (very pretty).
Nice stage presence, hard case included.

Before I wrote the sound critique, I had to remind myself why I purchased this guitar. I needed an amplified acoustic for live performance. The songs I use it on are rock based, and the acoustic is used to add a driving rhythm. In this vein, it does the job.
The onboard eq is sufficient to tailor the sound for the amps being used and the room.
Of course, for the price, the top is laminated. If you are looking for an acoustic that will accurately reflect fingerpicking nuances, that has clearly defined notes, then this IS NOT the guitar for you?you will be disappointed. If you are going to use it back up a driving rock ballad, then it does the job.

Well, you get what you pay for. First, the good points. The plastic back is very durable - no worry about buckle wear here! The tuning machines are actually Grovers, and hold a tune for a whole set. The top has a nice finish and interesting quilt pattern, and the Mother of pearl inlay around the top and soundhole is nice. Also, it comes with a dang nice hardshell case. Which, by the way, was a decision point for buying this guitar.
The other choice was an Ovation Celebrity, but the hard case seems to never be included.
The bad: The binding around the body is terrible. It is rough, meaning it is not smooth to the touch. It is put on well, but is not attractive. Black dye was used as part of the pearl inlay, and in some places you can see where it has bled into the finish. I had to replace the saddle because it was cut to low from the factory.

I have a suspicion that in four or five years, it will start to fall apart. Only the Gorver tuners will still work. And maybe the strap buttons.

If stolen, lost, or detroyed, I dont think I would buy another.
I would spend 200-250 more to buy an Ovation. Suggesion - If you really want one, don't buy new. Soon, the market will be flooded with used ones for less then 200.00 (hey, the srp is only 399.00).
