Rosewood back, sides fretboard and bridge, spruce top, mahogny neck.
All solid quality tone woods.
No cut away or built in electronic. High gloss finish.
Good guality peghead tuners.
OHSC trec case. The trec case is not my thing. I don't like it and the guitar is just a bit loose inside it. I wouldn't trust it to ship the guitar in. Altough it is said to be a wery sturdy\solid case

This guitar sound like a cannon. I'd compare id to a Martin D-28
I've owned it for four years, now the top has opened up some it is even louder. It is more bassy then bright.

The factory set up was like a dream, and I haven't needed to adjust anything. As long as I stick to medium or heavy gauge strings the set up is spot on.
The finish is stunning, I couldn't find a flaw if i looked with a microscope. Compared to my three thousand dollars Gibson acoustic the Seagull wins by a long shot when it comes to the paint job.

Good quality instrument. It'll be around after I'm gone.
Drops a lot in value after purchase. Don't buy a seagull if you don't intend of keeping it. It can be hard to sell second hand.

This is a great guitar. With amacing sound.
It's just as good as a Martin or Taylor or wathever.
Top quality instrument that will last you a lifetime.

Beautiful model. Solid rosewood back and I believe solid sides as well.
Lacquer finish. I think this model was formerly the Artist Rosewood Spruce. It has similar features anyway.
Nice spruce top that has just the slightest "bear claw" markings.
Tight even grain.
Mine is a factory second, which just means that it has some minor cosmetic issues. In my case it's just a slight mark or "smear" on the side on the lower bout.
Oddly enough I think mine also has a factory "boo boo" in that it sports a plain fingerboard instead of the normal inlaid seagull one.
I believe otherwise it is fully an Artist model. The braces are somewhat "scalloped" as well. There is also a compound radius top which is supposedly to assist projection and tone.

This guitar could be put up against a Martin or Taylor in the sound dept. and fare well.
I have a Martin which is a D-15 spruce mahogany custom model and I actually believe that the Artist is a bit more "refined". What I mean is that the sound is a bit more articulate and balanced. While the Martin kills it in the bass frequency range, the Seagull is more even and in "focus".
The guitar is bright without being brittle and has enough bass to sound full. I still love my Martin, but the Seagull is more fun to play and sing with since it doesn't over power me when I sing lower notes.

The guitar played good out of the box.
It is rare when I don't really need to adjust a factory setup.
I did however adjust the nut and lower the action there just a little, but really it wasn't all that necessary. I am a bit of a guitar tweaker so I am always trying to make up play like butter (although this one was damn close to begin with)

I would think that since this one is glossy and not satin finished it might stand up to a little more abuse...but I try not to abuse any of my guitars.
The case is the safest place for your guitar if you aren't playing it.
I'll say again....the case is the safest place for your guitar.....

Ummm...hadn't really had to "deal" with them.
I have sent them a few emails and I haven't gotten a response yet...but it's only been 4 days or so. They have a big disclaimer that talks about why it may take a little while, but I think this is something they need to work on (getting back to folks).
I think that in my case even though my guitar was new, it was a factory 2nd and they might be less likely to answer my questions?? But it is probably just a lack of time thing I don't know...

I have played the guitar over 20 years and I have played many acoustics. I have really enjoyed learning about the construction of them as well. From what I can tell, Seagull and Godin products in general are very well made and a PHENOMENAL value. We should seek them out when we want to buy juniors or sweeties first guitar! They put U.S. makers to shame with their pricing. My guitar has many features that are similar to Taylors and Martins that are twice the price. In my area, resale value isn't really good either, but I don't look at the purchase of a guitar so much from that angle.
So to all I would say whole heartedly that this guitar has made me feel excited about playing more acoustic music again. Get one. You won't regret it.
