Solid cedar top, laminate cherry back and sides, Seagull acoustic-electric system with both a mic and resonating picking (maybe saddle? sorry, not sure). Bass and treble EQ with a master volume, and can mix the two different pickups.

Bought this in early 2007 online as a blem model -- one tiny little chip at the very bottom of the top side got me $200 off, so I picked it up for $500. I thought this was a good deal. Came with the TRIC case, which supposedly regulates temperature. The real advantage is it's basically a hard case but is super-duper light, which makes transport easier.

Neck is pretty wide, I think it's 1.75". Tuners are Seagull brand.

The only thing I wish it had was an onboard tuner -- I find those to be super handy. Otherwise, has all of the essentials and not much extra.

Sound : 9
Very very warm sound, defined bass that complements the cedar top well. Bass is probably not as punchy as rosewood would be, but that's fine for me. I tend to do a lot of strumming, mainly rhythm backing. This works well for that.

You really realize just how great the sound is when you compare it to another run-of-the-mill guitar. I would sometimes play with this guy who had a Yamaha something-or-other, not bottom of the line but not great. The Seagull just blew it out of the water in every category. I think I take it for granted sometimes, but the sound is so warm and rich, it's a real treat.

The negatives about it are what you'd expect: with such a warm tone, some of the bass and treble is left out, so it's not real punchy in the low-end and doesn't sing out on the high end either. Also, it doesn't project all that well. I can't tell if this is bracing or the tonewoods, but if you want volume out of it, it's probably best to plug in somewhere.

Electronics are excellent, and if you can avoid feedback, the mic pickup gives tremendous sound. This guitar sounds great acoustic and amplified, which is more than you can say for a lot of AEs (*cough* Ovation *cough*).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action is good, very playable. Definitely rivals Martins and Taylors I've played. Again, I get spoiled by this guitar and forget just how crappy acoustic action can get until I try out a beater and can't play anything.

The one I received in the mail had a problem on the second fret, so after talking to Seagull, they had me mail it back in and replaced the whole freaking neck for free. Yowza. I guess this would be considered a mark against their QC, but they more than made up for it with service.

I had it set up professionally, which really helped the upper-fret action. The top does tend to absorb a ton of moisture in the summer, so this summer I had to get a summer/winter saddle made up for it. The trials of owning a solid-top guitar, I suppose.

As mentioned above, this was a blem model and had a little chip near the foot of the top, but it was well worth it and was sold as a blem, so I don't care. Doesn't affect the sound.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Strap buttons are OK. The one at the foot of the guitar is a little bit stubby, and I had to have the one at the top of the body put on after I received it. If I was playing this live much, I would probably get some strap locks, just because neither of the buttons seem too secure.

The build quality of this is excellent, particularly when you consider that it's not, oh, a $3000 guitar.

My only compliant is the soft cedar. I'm pretty careful with my instruments, and I *still* have dents in the top from the soft wood. You have to be gentle with this guitar, and for rougher use, I'm not sure what I'd use. I love the sound that cedar produces, but I worry about it a lot.

Customer Support : 10
I talked about this in the sound, but Seagull/Godin's customer service is top-notch. The retailer I bought this from blew me off, but the Seagull customer service had me send it in, and put on an entirely new neck to correct a fret problem. They are really interested in providing a quality product, which is something I truly appreciate.

I think their goal is great sound, and their guitars may not be flashy, but they do their job well and sound great. Great company.

Overall Rating : 9
I love this guitar. I've been playing casually for about 14 years. I have owned and played a bunch of cheaper acoustics, and have spent plenty of time on a bunch of higher-end ones too. This one stacks up with guitars 2 to 3 times the price.

If it was lost or stolen, I'm not sure what I'd do. I've been interested in Ibanez Artwood or Simon & Patrick (another Godin company) guitars, so I might try one of those, but the S6 AE is something I know I can rely on.

When I bought this, I played almost exclusively acoustic, and though I play mostly electric now, I'm still wowed when I bring it out. It's a great guitar. For the price, it's a spectacular guitar.

WOW! Yes what you read here is all true! I've been playing 30 years now and have played all guitar companies. If your looking for a guitar, buy this one if you can find one. I actually was in Seagull's factory recently and you can feel the pride of the worker. I'm sure the other giants are shaking in their boots!!!

Beautiful guitar for this price range. I've never seen anything compare for this kind of money. Satin finished Wild Cherry back and sides, solid cedar bookmatched top w/gloss finish. Silver Leaf Maple neck w/rosewood board and 21 frets. Standard dreadnaught style w/cutaway. Tortoise pickgaurd, and beautiful inlaid wood rosette. Nothing fancy, very understated, and elegant in it's simplicity.

The neck is kind of slim front to back, but REALLY wide from edge to edge. It took some getting used to, but I actually really like it now. The string spacing is huge, and fantastic for finger style, or, guys like me, a flatpicker/hybrid picker with an odd, self-taught, technique. The fret and nutwork is worthy of an instrument at least four times the price.

Mine is a 2007 model, bought new from a local big box store. Some folks don't dig the headstock shape, but I don't mind it because it's 100% functional. It allows the straightest string pull of just about any production acoustic. This, coupled with Seagull's building technique (neck-building, and neck to body joint construction) makes this guitar's tuning stability incredible. Speaking of tuning, I don't know what the tuners are, but I am guessing Gotohs. They work smoothly and perfectly. I really like them alot.

The electronics are the Godin QII set up. They consist of a saddle transducer, and an electret microphone. The on board controls are Volume, Treble, Bass, and a mix control for the mic. In the 12 o'clock position, the pot detents and the mic is off, giving a straight piezo sound. When the pot is moved to the left or right of the center detent, it allows the user to "mix" the mic in with the piezo signal, either in or out of phase. Easy to use, and very effective.

Sound : 8
Sound is far more than adequate, and light years beyond what I typically expect from a $600 guitar. Lets face it, once you really learn acoustic guitars, and know what to listen for, just about any new guitar under $1600.00 sounds like a toy. Unplugged the sound is pleasant and well balanced. The Cherry back and sides are bright and snappy, not unlike Maple. The Cedar top warms things up a bit. When you put the two together, you get a nice overall tonality with a warm mid-range presence. Not at all harsh or twangy like a lot of it's competition. It can be a little light in the low-end when flat picked, but the bass blooms really nicely when you finger pick it, and the high strings are really full and rich. None of the rinky-tinky mosquito sound you so often find in low priced guitars. The volume, projection, and overall tonal complexity is not on par with most of my other instruments, but that can hardly be expected.

Plugged in, this guitar has absolutely zero negatives, and no competition that I know of. It is nothing short of orgasmic. The full tonal spectrum is there, and the system is dynamically VERY responsive. Harmonics and overtones are in abundance, warmth and sustain are off the charts. The mic "mix" feature I mentioned is also great for eliminating feedback, just mix it in or out of phase as needed. When playing with a full band, I turn it off and just use the piezo. Kick drum and bass guitar can wreak havoc with a live electret. For solo shows though, the mic makes this guitar sound better plugged in than anything else in my arsenal. It makes the Fishman and Baggs systems in my Martin and my other high end pieces sound like toys. No joke. These electronics rock.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The factory set-up was less than praise worthy. Other reviews on this site rave about the low action, mine was half-way to the moon. I bought it anyway, because it sounded great and was what I was looking for. I am a tech, and plenty comfortable doing my own work, so a set up didn't cost me extra. I shaved almost an 1/8th inch off of the saddle to bring the action into line with what I am used to. It now plays like butter, with virtually no fret buzz, even when I lay into it hard. The fret and nut work, as I said, is immaculate. It's a pure joy to rip all the way up and down the neck and not hit single dead spot, high fret, or jagged fret end anywhere. Go to the website and read up about their neck construction and neck to body joint technique. It ain't hype, it works. I have guitars I paid five times as much for that don't have nearly the intonation or tuning stability of this little guy. It's stupid how well this piece is built. American luthiers could learn alot from their Canadian cousins. If Seagull used wood on par with Martin, Taylor, or Gibson's stocks, well, those companies better hope they never do. This guitar is built like a tank, but is still light and delicate in appearance. The finish has a few small flaws around the body binding, but you've really got to look to find them. Nobody in an audience would ever notice, no matter how close they got to you.

Reliability/Durability : 10
As I said, built like a tank. I bought it to destroy it. I travel alot to play, and since 9/11, flying with a guitar case has become virtually impossible. NOBODY will let you carry on anymore, the only way to get your guitar in the cabin is to buy it a ticket and strap it in a seat. I can't afford that, but neither can I afford to hand my Martin, Gibson, or custom built guitars to baggage handlers, where they will ride unpressureized, and with no climate control. Even driving to gigs, guitars get beat up. In bars they get knocked over, drinks get spilled, etc. I needed a guitar that would sound and play great, be good enough unplugged to write with effectivley, and be cost effective (easily replaceable when it falls apart or gets assassinated by Delta). I have been beating this one up for months, with absolutely no ill effects. It is tough as nails. I regularly fly halfway across the country with it and gig with no back-up. TOUGH. That's all there is to it. It may not stay pretty forever, but I am a guitar player, not an art collector. Who cares what it looks like as long as it works.

Customer Support : 9
Don't know about any warranty, didn't ask at the store. If it has one, I probably voided it by working on the guitar myself. No worries, I really don't need one. I did e-mail the company to let them know how much I dug the guitar. They replied the same day. All good in my book.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing more than twenty years. I am a professional guitarist and singer/songwriter, and I own more great guitars than I probably have a right to. I have a Martin D-35, a Gibson J-200, a custom made studio acoustic, and a pile of other nice pieces. I bought this guitar strictly as a road dog, to save my high-end pieces that were being slowly destroyed by drunks and baggage handlers. It has ended up being one of my favorite instruments. I keep it next to the couch to write on when I am home, and I don't travel anywhere without it. If it were lost, destroyed, or stolen, I would run right out and get another. That's what I bought it for. I'll beat the shit out of it until it falls apart in my hands, and then go out and buy another. If you own high end guitars, and don't want to tour or gig them because of monetary or sentimental value, it is in my opinion, the ultimate stunt double.

I tried different guitars of this model. All have their particular sound. The one I bought has an increadible sound! So try different ones at different dealers. Never buy a guitar on-line for this reason. All have their own soul.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Everything about this guitar is awsome! The action was perfect. The finish is almost perfect. There are a couple of weak spots, the finish on mine was not perfect. But I had the choice between the one I bought and 3 others. I chose this one for the sound.

Reliability/Durability : 10
These are very deoendable guitars. A friend of mine has had his for almost 20 years and it's still perfect. I must say he treet his guitars like babies.

Customer support was great. I e-mailed theme with a question and they responded within 2 days. This is great! They where increadibly kind and helpful.

Have been playing 30 years or so. Have had many guitars both acoustic and electric. I've compared 2000$ Taylors and the like but prefer this one. Would never pay more than 1000$ for a guitar, between you nad me it aint worth it. Unless you get a good luthier and have one custome built.

I should begin by saying I've only been seriously playing for a year and really don't know much about what different features mean. But I would give this guitar a ten in this range, because I haven't had any problems, and if you don't notice these things, they are probably good. The reason I give mine an 8, is that, even though the manual says I have the Quantum II, I don't have the second mike. Other than that, it is an excellent guitar. The fingerboard is particularly good, in that it is low and easy to play, but I don't have the problem of the strings slipping off the board like I did with the low-end Taylor I tried. The case is some sort of new-age styrofoam. Didn't trust it much so I use my old wood one.

Sound : 9
The guitar itself has a nice warm sound but what really sets it apart is the electronics. I tried a lot of guitars in the $500-800 range and it wasn't even close, especially the bass response. The only thing is that, as a beginner, it tends to pick up alot of your mistakes, so watch out for that. The only problem, like another guy said said, is that the strings tend to buzz when pounding on it, and you need a good amp to handle all the low-end if you turn the bass way up, otherwise you get a lot of feedback.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
You really couldn't ask for a better action and the guitar is nice to look at. It has a real solid feel and like another guy said a nice smell. The only thing it seems to pick up scuffs pretty easy but that could just be me.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Don't play live but I'm generally pretty hard on guitars and haven't had a problem. It has already survive a long-haul flight no worse for the wear. Have only had it for a couple of months, but seems pretty good so far.

Customer Support : 10
Haven't had any need to contact the company. Bought the guitar Martin music in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. They offered a fair price, the service was excellent, and didn't mind dealing with my horrible playing for hours on end while deciding on a guitar.

Overall Rating : 10
I would definitely be heart-broken if this guitar were lost or stolen. I can't think of anything I would change about the guitar. I compared this guitar to a low-end taylor, (not a baby, but the cheapest electric-acoustic,) some Ibanezes and Washburns, a Fender, and a Takamino within a price range of $350-700. The only one which was close in terms of playing was the Takamino, but the electronics on the Seagull were much better. I was actually really disappointed the Taylor actually as it had a really twangy sound. Maybe they are made for cowboys, I don't know. And the Ibanezes sound like pure crap and had a generally cheap feel to them Anyway, it was a nerve-wracking thing spending that type of money for a guitar, but overall the Seagull seemed by far the best value.

It says the same thing about the back online but to me it looks like it's solid and bookmatched. That is what they told me in the store and I am inclined to believe them.

Pickup: Godin Quantum II
Hybrid source: saddle transducer and electret microphone

Silver Leaf Maple Neck
Rosewood Fingerboard

Cutaway Body

Didn't come with a case buty the guy at Long and McQuade was nice enough to throw in a plush case and some humidifiers, about a 100 bucks worth of stuff, FREE!!!
Way to go Long and McQuade!

Cna't Give the guitar the highest rating because no case but the rest is perfect with all that you could ever want in an acoustic, certainly considering the price.

Sound : 10
Beautiful sound, it fits all of my styles, (which are very varied), from blues to classic pop rock (ie. The Beatles) and all sorts off acoustic rock.

I must say I was amazed by this guitar when I first tried it. I had done my research and read a fair few reviews on this sight when I went in and was looking at Simon and Patrick guitars as well. I honestly can't believe why anyone would settle for a Simon and Patrick when a seagull like this one is only 100 bucks more. There is no comparison!!

I tried a lot of guitars and quite a few that where out of my price range as well! Even trying the low end Taylors that wheren't kept behind lock and key the only guitar that I though performed better than my Seagull, (I'm also including higher end Seagull models in this comparison as well), was a Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Cutaway. At 2500 bucks though it was a bit out of my league!

The sound of this thing is fantastic, I've not had it long enough to experience the top maturing but it still blows my mind. The only warning I have is that with the action set as low as it is from the factory you will get a fair bit of buzzing if you go at it like a rock star. If you baby this thing and use an amp for louder sounds this will rock your world with its $2000 dollar sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Very good factory set up, action was near perfect and fine for my type of playing, I would never havce thought you could set and action that low without any buzzing other than with hard strumming.

Everything looks clean and perfect on and in the guitar. Inside and out the level of workmanship put into this guitar is astounding. The only bone that I have to pick with Godin is the slight discolouration of the wood on the guitar top. There are streaks on either side because it's bookmatched that are almost a grey colour. I don't mind this because it still sounds great and it gives it a bit of character but I could see other people being ticked at that sort of discolouration.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I haven't had it long but this guitar feels light as a butterfly and strong as a sherman tank. Everything seems strong and meticulously put together. I definately think that this guitar could withstand live playing and even without a backup if necessary.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't had to contact Godin yet, thankfully, but Long and McQuade seems to have great customer service if I ever needed to ship it back to be fixed. They also gave a free set up to me for the guitar.

I won't rate this because I haven't dealt with the manufacturer but if I was rating Long and McQuade they would get a 10 in my books.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for near 3 years and also own an Epiphone Les Paul running through a small Fender amp and a Zoom GFX effects pedal. I run my Seagull through that amp because I'm too cheap to buy an acoustic amp but minus the effects pedal.

The one thing that I wished I had asked before buying this was for a loan so I could afford the Gibson Songwriter Deluxe but thats just me dreaming.

I would definately buy enoughter if it where lost or stolen but hopefully by the time that happens I will be a good enough player with a big enough wallet that I could afford the Gibson.

I love everything about this guitar especially the small price tag and would recommend it to anyone who is just getting set up as a serious guitarist.

I personally like this guitar better than any martin or taylor the shop would let me try so unless you a name on a headstock rather than great sound and money in your pocket atleast try this guitar, you will be amazed!

oh... well, made in LaPattrie - Quebec (cananda) but we often know it. It's "classic" seagull cutaway style, with a thin glossy finish that never bury the wood sound. it (she) smells good, anytime I bring her out of the bag the wood smell fills the air, and it's a good thing. It feel like you're playing a liutery made guitar, handcrafted not an semi-industrial product... but we know also ho well they work in canada...
Pick up is a great godin quantum II piezo+mic, it catches all the reverbs inside the body and when you plug in this little jewel you think "This is the way I want an acoustic guitar to play!"
if like to know all the woods used to get hte guitar born you might read them on the official site of seagull guitars.
For the very first time in s series seagull give a glossy finish, it's thin - gosh - not too tough, so it happens - shit - that the body get easily scratched... who plays seagull knows what I mean... I hoped that the glossy finish might be more resistant but it's not enough
The bag is included but - to my opinion - is horrible... no handly at all

Sound : No Opinion
Great. The first time you play it you might think "Mmmh" if you compare it to the sound of other guitars at the same range of price... if you plug it in you start to think "Woa!". It's a "solid top" - I don't know what - in fact - it means but, to make it shorts it works like the more you play it the better it sounds (just like the tv set you bought in the early 80's today works like a plasma screen after 25 years of daily use...) after to months i don't think "mmmh" no more... now i think "yea". I've read somewhere that it sounds like a Taylor...
Sometimes I play it on a behringer ultraacoustic but i prefer to plug directly in the mixer and keep the sound as natural and clean as possible.
Playing it live you must use a feedback buster on the hole, it's pretty easy to get feedbacks and resonance, she might slip away easily and start to buzz with strings or feedback.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
To me it was all ok.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
If you play seagull you konw what I mean. it's a baby. You must treat her right. You might be tender and she could be the love of your life. If you bang on her she's going to get hurt, and you pain for her.
I have a s12+ model since 4 years, I love the sound but the body is filled with scratches made with nails and plettro.
You know it, you accept it, you pain for it, you love more these guitars for it.
Anyway the building seems to be strong enough (to be your woman):)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Pretty good. I've sent an e-mail to get more informations on the pick up, they answer me across the ocean. Friendly people. Hi to all the frindly people in canada!

Overall Rating : No Opinion
... oh well. It's a lovely guitar (a lovely lady).
I love Dave Matthews and I try to play like him (pretty far to him, but I try), and the body and sound of this guitar works good but my goal and big top is a Taylor 800/900 so when I'm going to be rich and famous... but maybe when I try them I'm not going to fall in love as I falled with this one. It's a little jewel to discover.
I write it again... she must be treated tender.
See ya boys

This guitar has a solid cedar top (cutaway) with cherry back and sides, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge.

Also has the dual internal mic and undersaddle pickup which you can blend to get a variety of tones.

Best features out there for the price.

Sound : 10
Of course this is in the ear of the listener, but it my opinion it sounds great!

Has a bright sound that I would say is closer to the sound associated with a Taylor, however I feel it doesn't sound as tinny as the lower priced Taylors.

Play one and see what you think.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Everything was perfect right out of the box! Factory action was really nice.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I usually just play it at home...but it seems like a durable guitar. It has a nice gloss finish on the top....seems pretty tough.

The only thing I'll say I'm not a big fan of is the case. They tout it as a lightweight breakthrough.....I'll take the heavier plush lined cases any day.

Customer Support : 10
I had to ask them one question shortly after buying this guitar. Sent an email to the company...they got back to me a day or two later. Very friendly, prompt, and thorough.

I've been playing for about 2 and 1/2 years, and bought this guitar about 3 months ago. My other guitar is a cheap Yamaha acoustic (which I think is pretty great for the amount I paid).

If this guitar was lost or stolen I would definately pick up another...I think it's one of the best (if not the best) value out there on the acoustic w/factory pickup market right now.

My seagull is a 2004 model made in LaPatrie, Quebec, Canada. It's has a solid cedar top, mini tuners, tusq nut and saddle, cherry side and back. The body style is a slightly smaller dreadnaught cutaway (I say it's slightly smaller because the waist is not as wide as a traditional dread).

The neck is nice and wide. Great for finger picking. It's not too wide though, so barring chords is no problem.

This guitar has the wonderful 2 pickup (condeser mic, peizo) quantum II system... It is by far the best sounding system I have heard on a guitar in this price range!

No frills here, nice and simple.

Sound : 10
I love the sound of this guitar plugged in!! Plugged into any acoustic amp or PA system, this guitar just sings!

The sound unplugged is great... Unless you strum really hard, then it gets a bit tinny/muddy and you get a bit of buzzing here and there. However, if you don't bang on the guitar hard, you'll find that it is one of the best sounding guitars out there. Somewhere between the brightness of a high end taylor and the boominess of a high end martin... Simply beautiful

I've had the guitar for about 3 months and it's aged quite quickly (because I've been playing it ALOT)... It sounds noticably richer than when I first got it. I'm hoping it will continue to get better and better for a long time to come... It's an amazing sounding guitar!

The only gripe I have is that you can't seem to play this guitar really hard (you can't pretend to be a hard rock star with this guitar) without it getting a bit tinny or muddy (it sounds like the guitar goes a bit out of pitch for those really hard played chords too)... Because of this, I would rate the sound a 9.5, but since there is no ".5" in the ratings, I'll have to give it a 10.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The factory set up was crazy! Out of the box, this guitar played easier then the Les Paul copy electric that I had (and that thing was easy to play!). Unfortunately, the action was a bit too low and the high E buzzed a bit if you played even moderatly hard. I fiddled with the truss rod, but did not get optimal results. I then contacted the folks at East Coast music and they told me I needed to raise the action a bit (I contacted seagull too, and they said the same thing). I then bought a new saddle (Tusq of course!) and went to work with my file... TADA! Buzz gone... unfortunately the action is noticibly higher :-( But it's still very slick to play!

The binding on this particular guitar is not perfectly smooth, but it gives the guitar a definate "handmade" feeling.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I've dropped the thing in it's case a few times and there have been no adverse effects. I like the case's concept, but I wonder how well it will stack up against a burly airline luggage jockey...

The cedar top is very soft and I have started to chip away around the soundhole already... I wonder about the finish though, it seems a bit fragile. The guitar itself seems to be quite durable... Hopefully it won't have to be tested though.

I've removed the pickguard because it's so far away from the sound hole. I've replaced it with a clear pickguard. It makes the guitar look even more plain (which I don't really mind) but protects a larger area of wood.

I play this guitar at church all the time, and I would travel with it, but I would definately not lend it out.

I emailed the folks at seagull and they got back to me within 48 hours... They were quite helpful and were willing to fix my guitar if raising the action a bit did not help resolve the buzzing and tinniness I had when strumming moderately. They were kind and quick to reply.

I've been playing on and off for 15 years. I've owned 6 different guitars, and this is the best sounding of the bunch (although it's the most expensive guitar I've owned). It blows away guitars costing more than twice as much (I'm a Guitar Center junkie (I visit the store and play thier Martins and Taylors all the time just to feel good about how well my guitar compares to the $3000 beasts they have)).

If someone were to steal it I would definately buy another one... unless I had an extra $1500 dollars burning a hole in my pocket at the time (then I would get a high end Larrivee).

If you are looking to spend under $600 US and want an awesome guitar, seagull DEFINATELY has to be on the top of your shopping list. Heck, if you are looking to spend $1000 on a guitar, get a Gull and spend the $450 you save on loved ones or pay your rent or donate to charity or something.

Made in Canada. The Body style is a single cutaway with a cedar top and Wild Cherry back and sides. Silver leaf maple neck

This guitar is perfect for anyone who is recording at home has two pickup systems. A condenser mic that is near the soundhole and another that is under the bridge. There is a control that lets you blend both of them for a wide variety of tones. Really great case came with it that is made of some space age material... Protects it extremely well.

I play mostly acoustic rock, instrumentals and blues. Never been happier with the tone for all! No feedback at all and it reacts extremely well to effects.

The finish is extremely interesting. The cedar is darker than the normal spruce that I have had. and the neck feel great. It has been set up with 13 gauge strings which was kind of a bummer. I use 10's on my electrics. Quite a difference. Otherwise excellent!

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Not sure... To early to tell thus far.

Never dealt with Seagull but have dealt with Godin for one of my electrics. Very friendly people...

I've been playing guitar for 20 years and this is by far one of the nicest acoustics I have played. The strings could have been lighter but otherwise this guitar should be a serious consideration for anyone who wants a guitar for recording.
