This is a 2006 S6+ GT Burst. Canadian Made. Gloss lacquer finish. Cedar top/Cherry laminate back and sides. Very wide mohagany tinted Maple neck. Hideous headstock that's growing on me(forunately there's a reason behind the shape).

Neck should be mohogany.

I also bought the TRIC case which I plan to spray with some kind of vinyl or rubber coating(automotive undercoating or the like). A cat would destroy this thing and have a great time doing it.
Interesting case, but I wish it had more substantial latches with locks, or at least a shackle. I suppose a solid latch might not work too well with a flexible case. A true shock absorbing case just seems like common sense.

Sound : 9
The primary reason I bought this guitar is the sound - Nice and loud. All the strings are balanced and clear with great sustain, and are consisten all the way up the neck. It is extremely bright if you use full pick, but will darken if you're more gentle and use less pick. Fingerpicking sounds wonderful. It is the perfect guitar for recording(my main use for it) as it will yield more sound to ambient noise when miking. The only problem being that the string noise is super loud and bright. I personally don't like the sound of acoustic pickups and don't plan on gigging with this guitar.

In the shop I compared it to $2000 Martins and Taylors, not to mention the whole lot of Yamahas and Takamines that were actually in my price range, and I preferred the tone to all of them.

The extremely wide neck was my next biggest reason for falling in love with this guitar. I'm first a bass player who's main axe is a RI Precision w/ a C width neck. The playability is amazing, but this is where the $2000 Martin wins.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
This is definately the low point of these guitars.

The frets aren't dressed so well, and the fretboard and bridge are very dry. The sides of the frets and board should be rounder. There are inconsistiencies all over the body. This is not an isolated case. I didn't see one without completely blemish-free wood underneath the lacquer. The binding has some very slight waves here and there where it meets the sides. There is just the slightest gap between the neck and body. I also don't like the way the neck tinting is sprayed over the side of the fretboard. I thought the side inlays were brass at first.

On the positive, the wood has a nice grain, and the lacquer is beautiful. The color of the sunburst top is gorgeous. I really like the finish, and the Burst GT is way worth the premium over the standard. The beauty of the body detracts from the headstock, and the binding and gloss finish on the headstock make it look less ugly.

I believe the shop I bought this from sets them up prior to displaying. The action was great. This guitar PLAYS!!!

Reliability/Durability : 9
High quality harware. I'm sure this thing will last.

The finish is fragile, but that's the price you pay for lacquer.

BEST THERE IS FOR THE $$$!!!

Another guitar with these features doesn't exist at this price.

I first learned about Seagull Guitars online, and really wanted to try one out when I decided that I needed an acoustic for the recording project I'm doing.

Although I've been playing guitar/bass for years, I hadn't very deeply examined acoustic guitars before, so my review is based on somewhat limited knowledge of acoustics, and my comparison to the electrics and basses I own/have owned-mainly Gibsons and US Fenders.

I really like this guitar alot. I've rated it based on what an actual perfect 10 should be. Based on price point it is a 10.

The only other guitar I had considered was the Takamine GS330S, which I would have bought if I ABSOLUTELY had to stay under $300, but you can get a base model S6 for $349.

The owner of the shop I bought this from was proud the carry the line. He spoke highly of their products, and was eager for me to compare a Seagull M6($450) to a Martin D-18($2000).

I bought this 2000 S6+ used, from a co-worker, in 2001.

It has a solid spruce top, satin finish, and laminated cherry sides. The fretboard is rosewood with white dots.

A case, tuner, and some pics were included.

Sound : 6
I basically play bluegrass, rock, and fingerstyle blues. This guitar is great for fingerstyle because the sound is warm, quiet, and pleasant.
When you attack it with a pick it gets irritated and constipated. It can sound a bit muffled. I play with my pick a lot, so this guitar isn't quite what I need to fondle. I'm saving up for a Collings.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I don't know how it was set up from the factory. The original owner did some do-it-yourself magic on the guitar and possibly ruined some of the intonation. I just have been too lazy to get it set up properly and/or repaired. For $250 I just beat the living heck out of it.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I don't play live onstage, but if I did, I would definately use something else.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never delt with them. I guess if it broke I would laugh.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing about 8 years. It's an okay guitar, but not quite what I have been drooling for. I wouldn't mind if the guitar was lost or stolen, but that hard case is pretty darn nice.
I have to play it for a little while longer and then I'm going to sell it back to the original owner.

Made in Canada, solid spruce top, satin finish but very bright sound

Sound : 8
This guitar makess a very bright sound, which is great as it was bought mainly as a 'camp fire' instrument.

I found that using Martin SP ten gauge strings makes it sound even better...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It's got a nice soft action and came from the shop nicely set up. The frets seem to be wearing quite quickly though with visible wear after less than a year. the bridge is also scored quite badly, but that could be me.

Reliability/Durability : 6
So far the instrument hasn't shown any wear apart from the frets and bridge, the fretboard shines nicely after oiling and I've taken all the funger end gunk off.

Customer Support : 5
No comment so far

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing acoustic guitar for a couple of years now and electric for a long long time.

If it disapeared tomorrow I think I'd buy another one, it's a reasonable compromise between price and quality and I'm not afraid to use it in places where I wouldn't want to take a more expensive instrument.

The guitars features and construction are well described in the previous reviews. Solid cedar top, maple neck, laminate cherry back and sides. Clean construction and mine is a factory second at that. I have been playing 2 1/2 years and I bought this guitar without guidance and found out later that it is one of the better guitars in its price range. I don't know how to rate a guitar for features. For a guitar that is only advertised in Seagull's own literature as a student guitar or for intermediate guitar players on a budget, it delivers.

Sound : 9
The sound is distinctive, warm, sweet, mellow. Some body else in these reviews described the sound as a good old bottle of red wine. Up agains my instructors rosewood/spruce Guild DV-52 it does not have the base or quite the sustain. However, that being said, the Seagull is more different than better or worse.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I understand the guitar now uses Tusq nuts and saddles. The original plastic saddle was cracked within a few weeks after I bought the guitar. Rather than wait for another from Seagull, I spent a few bucks for a new saddle to be cut and installed. The set up was O.K. out of the box, fret work great up and down the neck. The workmanship is not perfect, but very good, just a little visible glue.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The guitar is reliable overall. The finish is something that you have to be careful of. Cedar is very soft and the finish is nice but delicate. However, the dings that I picked up were not from normal playing, but from being careless. I have not been playing long enough to play live. The tuners hold and should last several years.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Warranty on mine was 2 years. I contacted them via email with a question on warranty (if I had one and how long was it) and they answered in a day or two as I remember.

Overall Rating : 10
I submitted this review after owning this guitar for a while. It was and still is a great guitar for a student such as myself. The things that I would watch for are the delicate nature of cedar. If you are rough on things perhaps you should consider a spruce model. The neck is a little wide if you have small hands. However, if you can exhibit a little care in handling and can get your hands around a slightly wide neck, this guitar is a gem.

A 1999 S6 Cedar top with L.R. Baggs Accoustic Timbre electronics. Made in La Patrie, Canada and from the way this axe sounds and plays these guys knew what they were doing when they made this one. This is the second guitar I've owned in my life and if it had been the first I probably would have kept playing 20 years ago. It has an understated elegance in its appearance. The tight grain lines of the solid cedar top are really highlighted by the matte finish. Yes, I scratched it with my thumbnail within the first 3 months of owning it and totally freaked out but it only gave it personality and hardly shows.

Sound : 10
I'm trying to play fingerstyle and blues mostly and with John Pearse light strings that are fresh it sounds better than anything other than the Martin OOO-28EC I aspire to own one day. Even then, its close and I'd hate to have to live on the difference. The sound is getting more mellow with great depth as it ages.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
With little to compare it to due to my novice level of experience I can say the action seems reasonable. Better than the Korean made Yamaha I tried to learn on 20 years ago. I think the quality of this guitar for what I paid for it, $540, makes it an incredible value and I've never regretted for a day buying it. The finish was absolutely flawless and the cedar is still gorgeous even with the few little nicks and scratches I've put on her.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I play for varying lengths of time every day and I'm always amazed by how well it stays in tune. No slip in the tuners which are still solid going into the 4th year of use. No cracks or other blemishes have appeared.

Customer Support : 9
Haven't needed support from Seagull and the guys at the store where I bought it have been very helpful. No reasons to complain here

Overall Rating : 10
I'm going into my 4th year of playing and its been a great instrument to learn on. A friend of mine who was knowledgeable about guitars (owns 8 himself including Godin, Gibson Les Paul, Fender Strat, Rickenbacker 12 string among others)recommended it and I'm forever in his debt for doing so. My greatest regret is that I don't play well enough to do it justice. I love to listen to it being played by someone who really does play well. I don't know how I could replace it. It sounds like guitars costing 3-4 times what I paid for it. I'd upgrade to the Artist series but I'm not sure I'd be gaining that much more in sound and quality than I have now. The one thing that I wish it had is a slightly wider neck, just another 1/16 inch at the nut and it would be perfect but I wouldn't part with it regardless. I may, probably will, have other guitars but only in addition to this one, not in replacement of.

Features : 7
I'm pretty sure this I have a 2000 model S6+ with the spruce top. As far as exotic features go, this fairly entry level guitar is not exactly the way to go. It doesn't have the electronics, and its all pretty basic. What it does have is all done right. The saddle is one of fugly looking but proper "compensated" varieties. The tuners are fantastic, in fact, this guitar has affected my "tuning by ear" skills by not going out of tune unless I bump a tuner. Its got a strap button on bridge end of the side, no button on the body so you'll have to wrap the headstock if you want to play it standing. The finish is not for every one, its a basic matte finish, it seems like it should be prone to damage yet oddly mine is still unscarred. Mine came with an SKB style hard case, which is very nice. It is a minimal approach to an acoustic, but it does it oh so right I have to give it at least a 7.

Sound : 10
What really makes this guitar is the amazing tone it gets. I shopped around for a few months with a friend bothering me to try the Seagull ever since the first time I mentioned wanting to play guitar. It compares quite favorably with most anything under the sun (well, under the sun and about $1300.) The spruce top is bright, but I personally like it that way, its never too ringy. The cedar is an excellent choice as well, but given the choice I had to take the punchier sound of the spruce. I recently started a lead guitar class, and most everyone in the class has a Martin, usually the D15 or D35's, and the Seagull seems to have a much nicer tone than the ones I hear in class. It really is an amazing sound, and it seems especially responsive to string choices and you can really tailor your tone that way. I have no problem whatsoever giving this a 10.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The construction on this is quite beautiful in an understated way. I've done quite a bit of millwork (ok, cabinets, museum exhibits and boats) and this thing is almost perfect. Looking at the braces in the body they could use a bit more shaping and sanding, but thats about it. Really impressive just to sit down with and inspect. The factory setup was perfect on intonation, but a little bit high on the action. The neck is wide but I personally find it preferable to a more electric feeling board. Too bad theres not a 9.9 score.

Reliability/Durability : 10
As I mentioned in the features, this guitar seems as if the finish should be fragile, but for the life of me I can't find any marks save the one from some yahoo's belt buckle. The hardware is very nice; the tuners have a very well oiled precise feel. The strap button (note the singular) is fine, but I will probably be replacing it with some sort of active jack soon. As far as dependability goes, it stays in tune like nothing else, and the only time i've broken strings is when using super light strings and stretching them carelessly. Despite the light feel this guitar is solid as a rock.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Hmm. Dealt with them when looking for a bit more information on the guitars, they were helpful. Sent a personal thank you to the company, got a fast reply and the offer of help should I ever need. Was also told to expect some free Seagull schwag, that never really arrived, but that has jack to do with the guitar. They seem nice, but I've never had any support issues.

Overall Rating : 10
As you can tell I'm really impressed with this guitar. I play mostly rock of various types, but with teh acoustic I usually end up playing "sad bastard music" like elliot smith or neil young and the like. It fits that well, as it would most any style. I purchased it for 320 with a nice case from Park Avenue Music in Lombard IL (630 691 8535). I dealt with Mike and Andy, who are both very helpful and got me what I consider a great deal. I can recomend the salespeople and the store, although they tend to sell out of Godin products quickly. If I could do it again, I would have sprung for the cutaway and the electonics, which I hear are among the best. The cutaway would be nice as I've gone quite a bit beyond the low positions lately, and the electronics would be great to bring this sound to an electric band. I truly do love this guitar. Feature light but the sound and playability are top notch.

2001 model hand made in Canada.

Solid cedar top, 3 layer laminated wild cherry sides and back, stained mahogony and a 21 fret, silver maple neck with an Indian Rosewood fretboard and a compensated saddle. Finished with a satin lacquer finish on a dreadnought body. No electronics.

Can't say it has "Tons of Features" but, it's got everything a beginner to intermediate player could ask for and then some.

Sound : 10
I'm primarily into classic/acoustic (CSNY, Beatles, etc....) and this guitar seems to fit the bill quite nicely.

Whenever I bring home a guitar, it's automatically subjected to a string change before I even play it.

After installing a set of D'Addario lights, the thing has got all kinds of presence. A well balanced sound that will only get better with age and playing time. During a recent jam with my Martin playing friends, they both commented on how they could hear my guitar cut through the tones produced by their aged Martins with no problem(s).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The only reason it's not a 10 is due to lack of a second strap button - a pet peeve of mine. Other than that, the fit and finish is flawless.

This is the only guitar I've ever purchased that hasn't gone straight from the store to my local tech. to be setup.

Damned if I can find anything wrong with it (except for the second strap button)!

Reliability/Durability : 10
Never had a satin finish before but, as I understand it, it has some unique qualities and maintenance criteria. Since I don't beat on my guitars, it doesn't scare or bother me though.

It seems to be rock solid and I'd gig without a backup - no questions asked. Seems to be that dependable.

Customer Support : 10
Haven't had to deal with them so I don't feel a fair assessment can truly be made here.

Based on the information provided on their website though, I wouldn't expect there to be much problem dealing with them. My dealer has a loaner program so between that and LaSiDo, I'll give it a 9.

Overall Rating : 10
Been a bass player for 35 years and just started playing 6 string in the last 6 months. I upgraded to this guitar from an Alvarez RD20C.

I got a Johnson 6 string that I take out on my boat. I've also got a Galveston Les Paul copy, a Guild (not Fender-Guild) Pilot bass and a Fender BG29N A/E bass.

If it were lost or stolen, I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. I love everything about it except for the lack of a second strap button. The pet peeve thing you know? It's the only thing that kept it from 10's across the board!

There's not a thing I can honestly say I hate. There's also no one feature that is my favorite. Unless you consider a $300 hand made, solid top guitar a feature. Then I'd say that's it.

I looked at Martins, Taylors and Sigmas before buying a Seagull. IMHO, this guitar was the best value out there. Buy one and I guarantee you can't go wrong.

My deal was especially good because I had originally put a deposit on an S6 model and it got sold by mistake. So, because I've been a pretty good customer at Daddy's, they sold me the upgraded model (S6+) for the price of the S6. If I recall correctly, there was a $20 price difference between the S6 and the S6+

I have loved this guitar from day one, it is a S6+ in Tobacco SUNBURST satin finish. I am a beginner, about 18 months in and this is my third guitar. I have a straight acoustic model with no electronics and I wish I had them, I am learning to play a little slide and this guitar sounds great with a little metal on it, and would sound better amplified. I thought it was a great guitar untill I had "it set up" by Guitar Solutions in Jasper TN. The results were amazing they dressed the frets and lowered the action and instantly I was 30% better player.

Sound : 10
Are you kidding me? This thing has a full low sound like few others, Hell, I don't have the money or the drive for hi-dollar Martins, or Larivees and after playing this guitar, I can't hardly stand to play any other low end quitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
This quitar came to me new pristine, with no flaws, I thought. The finish and workmanship were great, but, the action was way too high.
But, I quess a lot of guitar manu. set theres up a little high, to keep down on the comebacks for buzzing and such.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I was thinking that I am really rough on guitars by looking at my cedar top Seagull, but you know, after reading several reviews, I don't think you can keep from scratching and gouging solid cedar top quitars, especially ones without polyurethane. And hell this thing has
a clearer low tone now than when I bought it, I think it has dropped at least 1/2 an octave since I have had it, about 14 months.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I would not sell this guitar for 3 or 4 times what I paid for-- no kidding, after I spent the bucks to have set up, it made a world of difference. Would I buy another one? You bet in fact I will when I get a chance, one with a cutaway an and some killer electronics. Every
one should own one of the guitars.,

Product: Seagull S6+

Features : 9
Purchased 2/01. Made in Canada. Cedar soundboard and equipped w/L.R.Baggs Acoustic Timbre. Seagull custom case included. $545. Satin laquer finish (4 coats vs 8 coats gloss). Sides and back are wild cherry and stained with a mahogany stain. The neck is maple and according to the luthier that set mine up is "bolted on" like the Taylor and Guild guitars. Certainly a plus feature for me. Tuners are quite stable. Aside from a small (unobtrusive) knot on the side of the neck not physical defects were noted. The inside of the guitar shows obvious craftsmanship with NO glue visible anywhere! Please note that the rating system offers choices between 1 -10 with 1 being, "What features?" and 10 being "Tons of features." This is a simple guitar without gingerbread, but but beautifully crafted.

Sound : 10
I play with a Christian contemporary band and the sound is perfect for my use. At home I play through a Fender Acoustisonic. With the band we use a Mackie board and amps. The L.R.Baggs RT System works very well. I encountered one small problem and that was string balance while playing "plugged in." I called Baggs and found then VERY helpful. I took the guitar back to the dealer who consulted with Baggs tech support and corrected my concern without a glitch. Acoustically the sound is better than most Taylor's and Guild's I tried. I narrowed it down to the S6+ or a Guild D25. S6+ won handsdown. I did have the strings replaced to D'Addario phosphor-bronze (light).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar is as it was off the wall from the store. I did have the saddle removed to address the above electronic concern but this had nothing to due with the guitar itself. I found no flaws except for the small knot as previously mentioned. Bookmatch seems perfect. Very clean detail work.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I will be alternating the S6+ with an Ovation Deluxe 12 string. It will be a daily player both at home and with the band. At first I had a concern with the laquer finish durability but, the sound outways the concern. The turner appear to be solid (mini?) and have the Seagull logo embossed on the back. I had an addtional strap button installed on the neck heel as recommened by Seagull on their website. Not only will I use it as a backup at a gig but it will be played right next to my other #1 guitar. No backseat here!

Customer Support : 7
I e-mailed Seagull initally with my string balance concern. It has been close to a week and I haven't heard from them. Be advised that their website tells you upfront that their technicians are technicians and probably will not be answering e-mails. They feel that only a qualified person should be answering and they are currently building. Makes sense to me. L.R.Baggs on the otherhand has outstanding customer service! 10+. Check out their site for electronics!

Overall Rating : 10
I had been trying other six sting A/E for about six months. One strum told me this was the guitar for me. Actually no others, Guild, Taylor, Takamine, Ibanez, Yamaha, or Ovation ever made it past the acoustic test. The Seagull S6+ was the only guitar that I asked for a cable to plug-in and listen. I would definitly replace it if lost or stolen. P.S. It smells great too! (cedar, you know).

Canada - check out their site for more details.

I play some indie-pop along with some old classic covers like the Beatles. I am about a year into playing jazz guitar and learning a lot about music theory -so I also know a handfull of Jazz tunes. My last guitar teacher recommended upgrading my acoustic from a Washburn to a Seagull, and the difference is quite noticable. I bought both guitars for around the same price and because of craftsmanship and the fact that there isn't a heavy finish on the face of the Seagull it plays and sounds great.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I actually have to get this guitar set-up, but the factory set up is almost there. The action needs to be lowered a bit and I think they put a nut for a right-handed person on my left-handed guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I actually had a S6+ before and the face of the guitar split on me within the first few weeks I had it. You have to be carefull with these guitars -especially if you live in the mid-west. Granted I probably f-ed up and didn't have enough humidity in the guitar. But the Customer Service was great the replaced. Make sure during the winter months that its in its case with a humidifier.

Customer Support : 9
When my 1st Seagul split after 2 weeks of owning it I sent it back and they replaced it which was cool. The only draw back was that I had to wait about 3 weeks for the replacement to come in.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for 7 years and like I said I play some indie-pop along with some old classic covers like the Beatles. I am about a year into playing jazz guitar and learning a lot about music theory. the guitar came highly recommended - the sound is great, playablity is pretty good -its got a wide flat neck -I like the wider layout personally. I think the headstock on the guitar makes it really stand out aesthetically. The only cautionary statements about this guitar are that because of the next-to-no finish on this guitar you have to keep in mind humidity factors along the fact that it won't be as rough and tumble as some of the other thick finished guitars.

2000 Cedar top S6 (not a plus) HANDMADE in Canada. Standard number of frets for an acoustic. No Cutaway Solid Cedar top, Laminate Cherry Sides, Cherry Back, Maple Neck ,finished with a nice matte-like finish. Drednaught, with a compensated bridge, sealed chrome tuners (nice touch) Rosewood board. Rated a 10 because this is WHAT AN ACOUSTIC SHOULD HAVE for features. List on this axxe is $417.00

This guitar sounds WONDERFUL. It has a sound all its own. And it's getting better, each and evertime I play it! It booms and has shimmering highs.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Gotta see this axxe to believe it ! this is a handmade guitar and it rivals anything out there in the $500.00 range. And it costs a little more than half the price !

Reliability/Durability : 10
Feels solid AND light ! I know that sounds impossible but these guys really have thier s#*t together. I would definitely use it out without a backup. The finish is the guitar, it is light but with the proper handling and care should last a lifetime.

Customer Support : 10
I give them a 10 because I know they are there. And they obviously CARE about the product they produce !!!

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for 29 years, and I own several guitars. Among them are an Ovation Celerity Deluxe, 2 Fender Strats and a Hamer. If this axxe was stolen I would track down the perp. Beat him senseless and torture him until he bought me another seagull to replace it. The point here is that this is a real acoustic, made by folks who know what they are doing. The price makes it even better. I felt as though I stole this guitar. Buy one before these artists realize what they are producing and begin to CHARGE for it. Absoulutely a great guitar for the novice, intermediate, or advanced player. Buy a case for yours I did. Unfortunately the webdesigner didn't provide for an "11" rating for this (or any other) Category. The dealer gets a 10 too he stayed late to make the sale. And I'm sure at the price I paid he is'n vacationing in the Bahamas on this sale. Nice guy, courteous and helpful, without any pressure.

This is a Canadian made ceder solid top acoustic steel string guitar. Cherry back and sides. Dreadnought style. With nice tuners and a mahagony neck. Not all the fancy features though, not that they're necessary. =).

Sound : 10
I play mostly blues/folk on my acoustic, and this guitar is perfect for that. It doesnt have a cutaway, but thats okay, just cause its sounds so good! The place that I bought it at had a bunch of washburns, martins, and larivee's, and this guitar sounded better than the washburn or martin and almost as good as the $900 larivee.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action was set up perfectly, not to high, and none of the strings buzzed. Well, there was a small unoticible dent in the top, but that was caused after it left the factory and didnt affect the tone and I got $100 off the guitar for the blemish anyway so its all good.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Yes, this is a very sturdy guitar. The only thing I'm worried about is that the ceder top scratches easily. Everything is solid and I do use this upfront.

Customer Support : 10
Never had to deal with them, but I've heard their great.

Overall Rating : 10
If this guitar were stolen I would buy another one like it on the same day. I love it, nice nice nice tone, and good playability too. The price was just right too, $340 with a plush hardshell case... thats nice.

Solid cedar top acoustic with debogg built in amp..canadian made, same place that makes godins. its a heavy guitar relative to its size..

Sound : 8
it has a nice bright sound which is very good for finger picking, however it lacks that bassy warm sound of a tacoma(cost a hell lot more)..it doesnt have the thick chops of a gibson when you strum it..maybe with time it will..i like the sound but it lacks depth..i picked up a tacoma recently and fell in love with it.it had it all...retail 900, maybe i can wait...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
the set-up was perfect, low action and not too low that you get that ring..very nicely built, i think seagulls are handmade..i am giving it a nine cos i got the cheaper model that didnt have the glossy finish...see what seagull does is put the moeny and work it what matters, which is the wood and sound of the guitar

Reliability/Durability : 10
this guitar is solid, its weighs alot for it size..there isnt too much of finish so you dont have to worry about damaging it..i dont know i would gig with it cos its kinda ugly, but hey it sounds pretty good..

Overall Rating : 8
i have been playing for a few years now..every kind of style, mostly rock..i got the guitar cos it's a solid guitar for the price you are paying..i have cheap strat, nice electric yamaha sbg700, 60v pignose amp, a classical guitar, and a few pedals..around 200 can get you the same guitar without the electronics..i dont recommend the built in electronic thing..it depends on your style, one kind of pickup doesnt suit everyone..seagull also have a great resale value..i checked what a used one was going for on Ebay, almost as much as new one..i give guitar an 8..pretty good value...you have to go play and judge for yourself..when i first played i loved it, lately i like other guitars more..thats why i am buying another one..you can never own too many guitars..

This a '99 Seagull S+6, and it was made in La Patrie, Canada. I'm guessing it has approximately 22 frets. Also it has a solid cedar top, laminated Wild Cherry back and sides, rosewood fingerboard, and Big Leaf Maple neck. It has no electronics :( but it atleast sounds better unplugged. It has a alchohol finish I believe on the guitar, and I'm sure it has a satin finish on the neck and back of the fingerboard. It has Seagull non-locking tuners, but they look good and will hold up well. All this came w/ a hardshell case, strap. tuner, and two sets of strings. Also, the guitar has a two year warrenty, and the shop I bought it from (Rockin' Robin) will perform free maintanence for a year.

Sound : 9
It sounds really good Period. It has a real warm sound b/c of the cedar top, and has a good blend of base, midrange, and treble. The action might be a bit high, but nothing of course a setup could fix.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The best thing about this whole guitar is the materials and workmanship. It was hand built in Canada. A lot better than Taiwan I'd presume. No visible flaws. I like the finish a lot b/c it isn't shiny and looks natural. Also sounds better.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This will definently hold up well. Only becareful w/ the finish b/c it is slightly delicate. I'd take it on a gig w/ out a backup anyday. The hardware is pretty durable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience w/ this but I'd expect to be good.

Overall Rating : 9
I love it. That's all
