I play folk-style and bluegrass. This guitar is a dream. Bright sound, rich bass, but not too boomy.

Low action, beautifully bookmatched top. Nice fret work. No gaps or errant bits of glue.

The spruce top and lacquer finish add strength and durability--an improvement over seagull's lovely-sounding but soft cedar top guitars.

Been playing for about two years. I own a Washburn D-10s, and owned a Martin DX-1 for a couple of days, until I realized that wood sounds better than plastic and went out and got this. This is a fine guitar, and a great value.

I'm not sure of the exact year, but it was hand-made in La Patrie, Canada. Solid spruce top, book-matched flame maple back and flame maple sides, matching flame-maple headstock, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, dreadnought body, gloss finish, rosewood bridge. I'd give it a 10 if it came with the LR Baggs electronics.

This is the absolute best sounding acoustic I've ever heard. It has a very balanced and full tone with a hint of brightness. Very loud acoustically as well. I'd compare it to a Martin or a Taylor (which cost as much as 5 times as much!). I use this guitar to play "acoustic metal" (that's the best I can describe it). The beautiful tone of the Seagull fits the bill perfectly.

The highly flamed maple looks excellent and the gloss finish (not usually used on Seagulls) has held up great and is still shiny. Plays like a dream though it's kinda hard to reach the higher notes because of the body style. The finish was perfect right from the store. I have yet to change strings though I feel I might need to in the near future (9 months of almost continuous play-still sounds good!). There is a flaw in the maple wood of the neck but I'm not sure you can get around a flaw here or there with maple. It doesn't affect the playability and just "adds character".

It has withstood a couple of local shows, a lot of practices, and a vacation. The neck is still the same way it was when I bought it, I have yet to change the strings and it still sounds decent even though you can tell the strings are old. It's an acoustic guitar without any electronics, barring someone smash it on purpose or breaking a string, you can't get much more reliable than this. I have and will continue to use it without a backup.

Since I'm a huge fan of Alembics, I judge customer support compared to them. Seagull comes pretty close to being as friendly as Alembic.

It's the best looking and best sounding acoustic guitar I've ever had the joy of playing, and an absolute value to say the least. I've played keys, bass, and acoustic guitar for the last 10 or so years, never even touching an electric guitar (except bass). Except for not having a pickup to play at stage volumes, this guitar is perfect. I used to play a Washburn and a Martin untill I listened to a band called Opeth (not for the weak-minded, check out the song "Harvest"). I liked their sound so much that I bought a Seagull (even though it's not the same model) and have since sold the Washburn and the Martin to pay the bills.
