Mine is a 1996. Basic no-frills acoustic. Solid spruce top, mahogany laminate sides and back. Mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. Semi-gloss finish. Dreadnaught size body. Guitar came with a nice hard-shell case.

Very good sound. Tons better than the laminate top acoustic it replaced. Warm and responsive. Several people have commented that they liked the guitar's tone. Maybe it's not a Martin but it doesn't cost nearly as much as one either.

Guitar had kind of high action straight from the factory. It took some truss rod adjustment to get the action to a point where I liked it. Overall it's got good action but you don't have a huge amount of play in the truss rod to start with if you want really low action. Finish is very good. No flaws that I can find. Glue inside is fairly neat with no huge blobs evident. Frets were neatly rounded and crowned. No sharp edges. Overall I'd say the workmanship is very good.

It's hard to say much about durability for a solid top acoustic since they tend to be easy to damage. However, it's last 2+ years of banging around with me and has weathered (literally) a variety of seasons without cracking. The neck is still straight and doesn't go too crazy with changes in humidity like some guitars. Finish appears to be pretty tough too.

I haven't had to contact them so I can't say much for support but the guitar comes with a decent warranty (I don't remember how many years) and the literature that came with it gave some good tips on upkeep and maintenance. My dealer was very helpful in installing a strap button in the neck and adjusting the action; all for free.

Great value. Plays nice and sounds great. It's hard to beat it for the price, especially considering that it's a solid top acoustic. I have no real complaints (other than how the action came and that wasn't too bad) and would recommend trying out a Seagull to anyone looking for a quality acoustic at a bargain price.

I bought this guitar in December 1992. It has a SOLID spruce top and 3 ply laminated mahogany back and sides. These laminates AREN"T like your typical plywood you find on far-east guitars which put a thin ply of nice wood over garbage inbetween. The top and bottom laminates are mahogany with the grain running vertical with a middle layer of mahogany with the grain running horizontal. I think Rameriz does his classicals like this as well. Came in a satin/semi-gloss finish which leaned more towards semi-gloss. Newer ones are more satin-y and have slightly fancier cosmetics. Came with micarta saddle & nut and GREAT Schaller tuners.

Bought it to play Neil Young and Bob Dylan type stuff but now I play almost all blues ala Mississippi Fred McDowell, Son House, Robert Johnson and Charlie Patton. Sounds great. I was originally going to purchase a Guild or a lower end Gibson (J45 or J30) but the Seagull actually sounded BETTER for a fraction of the cost, and was handmade in Canada! Over the past 5&1/2 years it has really aged well. If it was stolen I'd buy another unless I had the dough to buy a Martin.

Wood quality was great. All the wood is beautifully grained. There were two glue globs along the bracing inside but all the other Seagulls I've seen have been immaculate inside. HTe action was perfect. VERY low with no buzzes at all!!! I finally adjusted the action a month ago, after owning it for 5&1/2 years. I wanted a higher action for bottleneck.

Very good. Although Im finally starting to notice some finish wearing off around the soundhole and more and more nicks and dings lately, but remember... this geetar is 5 years old and has been played HARD and a lot!

Been playing for 9 years. I also have a Fender Rosewood Tele, a Squier Strat with WD lipstick tube pickups, and a Martin D20 12 string. I would buy it again if it was stolen. I am very happy with the guitar and the service I've recieved from LaSiDo. It's a great guitar and i don't have to worry if I take it with me camping or anything! Like I said it SMOKED the Gibsons and Guilds I intended to buy originally and was a fraction f the cost! If you want to buy one get it in CANADA! They are A LOT cheaper up here then in the States.
