I bought a Suzuki Three-S FE200B around 1978 or so. I bought it as a Martin D41 clone & paid about $450 new (it has hex inlay like the D41 as well as the same type woods & construction). Would have to buy a $3,000 Martin to even come close to it's action & sound. It is the absolute best guitar I have ever owned in over 40 yrs of owning many guitars. Fretboard has hex inlay. Had an inside brace fixed & fixed part of the side that was coming apart from the top due to abuse, & there's a 1/4" hole in the bottom end from my kid poking the hole when he was young, but the sound even better than a 20 yr old D41 that my friend has (he said it's better).

Sound : 10
I finger pick like James Taylor, but the guitar sounds great playing anything, & string bending & muting is outstanding. I don't use an amp with it, & sound is excellent, even when recorded via a PC microphone. It has rich, full, & bright sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Excellent construction & quality woods just like the Martin D41 that it was designed after. It's a very solid guitar that can & has taken a lot of abuse over the last (over) 30 yrs.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Very durable, & have had no problems with the hardware at all. The finish is still glossy. It is very dependable, & not sure what I would do without it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I paid for getting it repaired, & it was reasonable. I greatly value the quality of this guitar, as it is the best I've ever owned. No need to contact the company, since Guitar Center was able to fix it. I'm also buying a pre-Suzuki Three-S D41 clone called the Kiso Suzuki W250. Kiso Suzuki was before the Three-S (basically the same company). I believe these guitars were hand made.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I would have to buy a Martin $3,000 guitar to match the playability & sound of my Suzuki Three-S Model FE200B.

The best guitar I've ever owned, & although a Martin D41 clone, it sounds & plays better than an old D41 that a friend owns. Has a 1/4" hole in base (accident by my kid), & had internal brace re-glued, & minor body fixes.

Sound : 10
Very rich with that hallway sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Just like the D41 with ebony & hex fingerboard.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Bought it in late 70's. I love the wide fingerboard. Have permanent strap buttons installed (w/quick release). It's worn well, but will still beat anything in GuitarCenter, as far as the sound & playability goes. The guitar is in good solid condition, regardless of the knocks.

The top was coming lose in one corner due to banging around, but was fixed to look like new, along with fixing internal brace near hole. Would buy another one if I could fine one. Have not needed warranty repair.

Overall Rating : 10
Playing for 43 yrs. Have had many other guitars, but none as great as the FE200B Suzuki-Three's accoustic. Anyone who has a FE200B, please contact me. I would like to buy another one.
