A lightly matte finished solid mahogany body similar in size to a Litte Jumbo and an un finished solid red cedar top with the paisley sound hole. A very good value for "Made in USA". It's 22 frets are easily accessed. It has Fishman Prefix Plus that gives the guitar lots of sound plugged in. The neck is incredible. Allows fast playing similar to electric. I have owned so many guitars acoustic and electric, and the wide fretboard and slim neck fits very well for fingerstyle. The neck is as good as my Taylor's neck. Comes with gotoh tuners and padded gig bag. A ten score for the price.

I play blues with this guitar. It brings out the soul plugged or unplugged. I play through a Peavey Transtube with full reverb and the guitar sustains well. With the Fishman Prefix the sound will do want you want. Acoustically well balanced. I use medium Elixers although lights are recommended. So the sound is different than stock. The neck took a bit of adjustment, but is holding up well to the extra pressure. The sounds are wonderful for what I do. I bend a lot and I can make her cry. I play this more than any other guitar I own.

I have had the Chief for almost 5 years. I can't remember how it was when I got it. I have adjusted the action, repaired a crack in the top, and filed and polished the fret ends. The crack came from a brace that wasn't glued securely. No other problems and it has been played a lot. A eight for the unglued brace end.

I have played it live with no problems. It is a solid guitar, but with the bracing design and the light weight top care is needed. Cedar will split very easy. With care it will last a loooong time. The cedar is soft and is easily dented and scratched. It is hard to keep in pristene condition. It has been very dependalble and I would use it without a backup. The guitar is definately prone to humidity changes.

Been playing 25 years. Too much gear to list, but I have owned and own Taylors, Larivee, Martin, Gibson, Fender, Takamine, Ibanez, G&L, gees, I can name almost every every guitar maker. I definately have GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome). If it were lost or stolen I would probably purchase a Tacoma Roadking RR8 (great guitar for the bucks). My favorite feature is the neck. The sound comes in second and there is nothing I hate about this guitar except me friends borrowing it.

Lightwieght solidbody cedar and mahogany. Fishman matrix pickup, as Tacoma site. Freaky design.

Acoustically, MUCH louder than you'd expect for a small bodied guitar. Thanks to the very responsive cedar top, well suited to fingerstyle. You can also strum like mad with a pick, and the top doesn't get confused. Plugged in , the Fishman is a bit low on output, but I think mine is dying. Also, they all have te blender system. They shouldn't make anything else because they are so much better.

Action is fantastic. low as possible without buzzing. Bookmatch not visible on top. Only criticism would be that the fret shoulders are a little roughly finished Otherwise, flawless in an organic woody way. The fret finishing drops the point.Intonation stays good all the way up the neck, which is hugely accessible. Also handles wide variations in tunings, without setup altering much, which makes it a more useable weapon.

It seems very simple in many respects. The standard hardcase that came with it is junk. If you can't stand on them they are a waste of space (GOOD examples being Hiscox,Taylor, Gibson). It is very flimsy front and back, and would easily allow damage. The guitar itself, I have no real qualms about. Why not charge the extra $10 and only supply real cases instead of pretend ones? Many other manufacturers are guilty of this.

Overall, one of the funnest, most comfy and useable guitars I have owned in 20 years. The playing comfort is outstanding in every respect, I love the neck, wide and slim. Great range of tones, more volume than is reasonable, and the sound comes out nearer to your ears! I have had, or have ,Lakewood, Seagull Martin etcetcetc, and this has put the biggest smile on my face. I want one of the Koa models now, because they look nice. Its great to see someone pushing the boudaries of guitar design, at a sensible price, and coming up with a good product. I wholeheartedly recomend you check one out.
