Features : 8
Made: 2000 in USA
Solid Top, 22 frets, LL Baggs pickup with 3 tone, volume, and phase switch. W/ Hardcase/Warranty $1050.

Great guitar for gigging, though I don't use it in the living room. The electronics are great. I don't know all of the specific specs of the electronics etc, but I played it next to several Taylor, Martin, and Takamine electric acoustic guitars, and it sounded better than all the guitars I tried (some of the guitars I tried were as high up as the $1700 range).

I'm looking to buy two more for touring since I use several alternate tunings.

Sound : 8
The sound cuts through nicely, which suits the style of my band (www.mozeizley.com), rather than being a subtle backup instrument it has a nice punch.

I generally play it through the house system where ever I gig, and it always sounds solid. Only complaint about the sound, it could use a little more bass boom, which as of yet I haven't found any electric/acoustic guitar that fills my 'bass boom' needs.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Intonation is great, even in alternate tunings. One flaw, the case it came with didn't have a slot for the knobs, they eventually shorted out and I had to have them worked on. I'm not so sure the dealer sold me an 'official' tacoma case though.

I don't know technical stuff about the bridge etc, it stays in tune and resonates nicely.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Hardware (tuners, strap buttons etc) are good quality. I've played 40 or so shows in the last year and a half, it's been 100% at every gig, I've never had to resort to a back up and seldom bring a backup guitar. The finish is a dull finish, I actually prefer this over gloss, that's all preference though.

Customer Support : 9
Had the electronics repaird, Tacoma was really easy to deal with (I went through an authorized dlr), didn't have to pay a dime, it was still under warranty, which it will be as long as I own it.

Overall Rating : 9
This is the only acoustic/electric I own. In the living room and such I play a Martin HD-35.
If it was stolen, I'd immediatly buy the same exact guitar.
I love the amplified sound of it.
I hate the crappy case it came with.
My favorite feature is probably the LL Baggs Pickup, I also am attracted to it's weird look.
I compared it with a few Taylor & Takamine acoustic elec, and also with a few Martin's that were of a similar size.
I chose this one based soley on it's sound, money wasn't much of a factor as I was planning on this being my main live guitar.
Though I mainly use it live, I did even end up using it on my band's Studio CD, the 'punchy' sound came in handy, you can hear what it sounds like here: www.mp3.com/mozeizley
that's it on the song 'Jeremy Bentham'

Year 2000 USA made smallish (sorta 000-size, but more pear shaped) flat-top cutaway in bound spruce solid top, mahogany s/b (back solid); 22 med frets; small sealed tuners (Gotohs?); pinless bridge; satin finish; sound "hole" offset to upper bout; 1&3/4" (at nut) wide rosewood fingerboard.

Gig bag.

Unique design.

I'd rather it was gloss finished, and bound back too.

Sound : 6
Good general use acoustic tone. I use it for flatpicking and fingerpicking in various styles around the house. Well balanced. Crispy.
Slightly dulcimer sounding due to somewhat shallow depth, and the back is FLAT, with no perceptable arc (arch?) at all!
Projection is limited, but it sounds good to this player (the sound "hole" is in your face).

VERY comfortable (smallish) to play.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Neck is screwed on (easy resets). Action and playability rivals even Taylors!
Outstanding workmanship and attention to details. Fit and finish is top drawer.

I'd like it in gloss, but oh well.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I'd buy a hardshell case if I were going to travel a lot with it.
It seems as well constructed as any of the other popular acoustic flat-tops out there.
No worries about neck resets (a biggie for me)!

40 years experience.
This is my only acoustic, presently.

Had 'em all, high dollar and low: Martin; Gibson; Larrivee; Guild; Ovation; Seagull; etc etc

Used a "Roadking," a C1CE, and a C2C previous to this one.
When I play out, I use a solidbody electric.

I came back to this model as an around-the-house (though I also teach with it) easy to grab, general acoustic.

It's perfect for kicking back and plunking on. Stays in tune well. I prefer its acoustic tone slightly, over the C1C, which is cedar/mahogany, and just a skoash too bright for me, though I like bright (mahogany s/b) generally.

I could mic it and play out with it, but prefer electric guitars for those jobs. Don't care for piezo sounds (anybodie's).

It is what it is. A nice smaller guitar that's intimate, but sounds much better (more balanced and with better bass) than a parlour guitar.

For soft fingerpicking, nothing beats it. It can go loud too, but I've gotten a LOT quieter in my geezerly years.

I would replace it with another one, above all others.

Maybe someday they'll have a glossy version (my preference). I think it would sound even better and project better with some arc to the back, but for around the house, it's not as boxy sounding as the C1C.
The "Roadking" projects well, but then of course, you have to reach over a bigger body (ok, ok, I could lose weight too).
