The finish is nice, the body style is cool, although it is a little fat (but then so am i), tuners are good. Love the neck, it is narrow and easy to play. Case is decent. I think mine is made in WA, USA and has a p/u system with high and low eq as well as a phase button.

I have been playing reggae exclusively untill about 2 years ago. i have been searching for a new direction and since i broke out this bass i may have found it. i am playing what my friend has termed "desert soul" kinda folk/rock. the bass sounds amazing especially amped. i have played it without amplification and it sounded a little weak, but after putting some daddario bronze acoustic bass strings on it, it sounds way more full. i used a danelectro nifty 70 amp and a behringer keyboard amp and it sounds tight through those (imagine what it would sound like through an swr or equivalent)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
the guitar was bought brand new at guitar center and played really nice, action is good, no flaws, no problems whatsoever.

Reliability/Durability : 10
i have yet to use it live, but i can imagine it will be just fine. it seems to be built strong and is ready for the stage, looks great! strap buttons are solid and i would definitely feel comfortable about using this as a main instrument.

never had an issue with the bass so i don't know about repair work.

Overall Rating : 10
i have been playing for 24 years, off and on, and currently own a gibson thunderbird 4 string and a fender jazz 5 string. i play live with an ampeg system (8x10 cab) and a svt-pro head. i love that i can play my bass without an amp and it is easier than my electric rig to set up and practice and i love being able to be diverse enough to fit in with an acoustic group.

This is a beautiful bass. I play jazz, fusion, and rock and this bass has the playability to suit all of them. I use it with an SWR workingman combo and the pickup is very responsive.

The treble and bass controls work fine for tone shaping. I have more on the amp preamp section when needed. I have never been a fan of notch filters, I prefer a phase switch of some kind if I have external hardware, but this filter is actually pretty effective. once feedback becomes present I roll in the notch and there is a point when it cuts it completely - any more and it comes back, any less and it comes back. So it is one point depending on the room and playing conditions.

I string it up with D'Addario chromes, and man - the tone I'm getting is remarkable. It cuts the low end just fine, enough low mids to push the volume and a clear high end for definition. I wish it had more warm midrange but I think maple is just not the wood for that type of tone.

The guitar came out of the box just fine. I bought it over the net from a dealer on the west coast. I had tried the CB10C at Guitar Center, liked the tone, size and playability but wanted a bit more flair. The back and sides are nicely quilted, and the top is a clean bookmatch.

I've used this live a few times already. For the type of gigging I'm doing it's perfect - weddings, jazz, coffee shops, and the occasional rock club. So far it's done great - not like I'm sweating all over it on a riser in front of a stack of 4 x 12's with beer sloshing all over. I put on strap locks when called in by the local rock outfit, other than that it's being played while I'm on a stool.

I emailed early on after I tried out the CB10C at Guitar Center and a guy named Leith in Cust. Svc. answered all my questions a few hours later and pointed me to a few dealers who would have it. Lifetime Warranty came with it. I don't anticipate any problems. I'd rather spend my time playing it and raving about it than waste my time complaining about buzzing on a web site.

Been playing bass for 23 years. I have a 4 string Warwick and a 5 string Spector electric bass. If my CB28 got stolen I'd be pretty pissed, cause I'm getting a lot of use out of it lately! Especially with the recent resurgence of guys who want acoustic stuff. I can't afford an upright and this is about as close as it gets to that type of tone. I love my electric rig, and was a little hesitant about getting an acoustic. But trust me - try one out somewhere and for the $$$, you cannot beat this bass.
