I am actually submitting this for Brian K who wanted info on this guitar. This was made in 97, Tacoma's first year of production. My understanding is that there were 200 of these made and 200 Dm25LEE's made which had tacoma's E2 pickup system in them. These guitars were sold thru Exclusively thru American Music here in the Seattle- Tacoma area. The top and back are solid, however the sides are laminated as all Tacoma's were that first year.It listed for $1199 however I bought one for half that price new from American Music. These are great guitars and you stold this one! I've only ever seen one of these come up on eBay in the 5 years I 've been watching. Hope this helps.

I recently bought a dreadnaught acoustic from a pawn shop in Los Angeles. The guy who sold it to me was not familiar with the make, but did say that, it was u.s. made and very well constructed. He was asking $200.00, but took $175.00 out the door, with case. The guitar is a acoustic dreadnaught made by Tacoma, out of Washington. The model is DM25LE. The overall condition of the guitar itself is in almost mint, of course after a thorough cleaning/re-stringing and set-up. The same week I got it, I installed a Martin/fishman 332 under the saddle pick-up. I did'nt want the active type because I dont want to bother with batteries. It sounds incredibly awsome. The top is solid sitka spruce, and the back and sides are solid mahogany. Binding is tortise, around body and rosewood fretboard. There is just one problem I have with it, I dont know too much about Tacoma and their website dosent show any DM25LE's. I would apreciate any information from anybody that is familiar with this guitar. I do know a few things about Tacoma, but not about this particular acoustic. The serial number is 97-****, I believe that the 97 is the year.

The sound quality is a beautiful rich and deep acoustic sound. With the Martin 332 pick-up, it gets all the sounds you'll ever want, from great bluegrass to just strummin around the campfire type music.

Installing the pick-up caused me to shave a little off the bottom of the saddle, which just made me put the action where I wanted it. The finish tend's to make me think that it was left out of the case for a while. It has patches of what looks like clouds in between the gloss finish and the wood. But you can't see it unless there is a lot of light, and at a certain angle.

This guitar looks like it will out live me, and I'm only 36 years old. It has jumbo frets, which I love. Voiced bracing, which enhances the overall sound. It's just made so good and strong that you would think that it would cost a lot of money, but I was told that Tacoma's are a mid range priced guitar. I don't know if this is true or not.

I'm using a friend's computer at the moment, Mine went with my house and kid's to my ex-wife. So I'm very limited with using it. It just so happens that I landed on this website all of a sudden, so I decided to pull your ear, so to speak. I did write Tacoma a few day's ago and somewhat asked about the guitar, but too soon for a response as of yet.

I have been playing since I was 13 years old, now I'm 36. I also play Martin acoustics, Fender stratocastor's and use Mesa Boogie and Fender amps.
