This is the cutaway version of Tacoma's DM9. I don't believe they are producing this instrument anymore, but I'm not sure. It has a satin finish, solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, Gotoh tuners, a rosewood fingerboard, and Tacoma's high end electronics. The price included the plushest case I have ever saw for any instrument. Needs a pick gaurd.

Jesus Christ! It sounds so good. Full bodied, rich, very dynamic. Haven't plugged it in an amp yet, but I am sure that is a good sound too. Honestly the best acoustic I have played, period.

Plays great, action is low, and there isn't a buzz anywhere on the fretboard. I haven't saw any glue marks or anything of that nature. The fretboard and bridge have faded (guy at the shop I bought it had left it in the window in the sun) but lemon oil will remedy that. Love the herringbone rossette and the tortoise shell binding.

Seems very reliable, though I haven't had it long enough to comment honestly. Would definately gig without a backup.

I've been playing for over 12 years. I traded a 4 month old Ovation CC057 acoustic/electric and a hunk of burning turd Peavey G-90 electric for this guitar. I also own a Les Paul Standard (late 80's model)2 peavey amps (neither of which I am particulary fond of) and a Zoom MRS 1044 (another must have). Right now, I would say I would try to find the exact same model if something happened to this one (maybe with a gloss finish). I compared Taylor, Seagull, and a few others and I feel I found the best despite the price. I got a good deal as this guitar retails for $1250.
