I purchased this instrument brand new. I didn't even try out any other acoustics. After playing it there at the store, I knew this was my guitar.

I found the action was just right, not particularly low but, easy to finger. I use D'Addario Acoustic Guitar Phosphor Bronze Environmental Custom Lite, .011 - .052, EJ26-3D.

This guitar has a warm tone that translates to an amp very well. However, there is a bit of feedback that occurs when I try to turn it up. The built in tuner is a godsend. When the tuner is turned on, the guitar is disconnected from the amp. The EQ is nice to have as well. I typically play a scooped tone, (treb & bass high, midrange minimum).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
There were no flaws at all in the construction of the guitar. I originally wanted the 2001 because it had the dolphin inlays but, the whales are finely done as well. The inlays and such were designed by Robert Wyland, whom I had been fortunate to have met a few times.

Reliability/Durability : 10
There is no left side attachment for hooking up a strap so, either you will need to play this guitar sitting down or install a second button at the neck.

This is a fine guitar for live stage playing.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't contacted the company.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing off and on for over 40 years and have owned several acoustic guitars. This is by far the best I have owned. I have also owned a few Fender Strats and currently play one now.

One thing I wish it had was a reinforcement rib sorta like the gibson hollow bodies to help prevent the feedback. Other than that this is a fine guitar and I highly recommend it for either the beginner or advanced player. It is truly a work of art.
