Well, bought this last summer as a treat. Went back to Johnny Roadhouse after 30 years out of town and he had this 2nd hand, only one carefulowner he said and still with the original strings and 18 mnths since he sold it new. Me, I'll believe anthing. Its built just like the15c. Dreadnought shape, cutaway, cedar, rosewood, loveley gold and amber pearl tuner pegs, great finish that's v difficult to damage in any way, and gigging round wales and the UK in small venues is hell on equipment. Pickup is good and the pre amp is ust great with the equaliser, (no tuner in this, but no matter I usually pla with pipers and fiddles, so ear is good) Holds the tuning better than anything I've ever used before and Ive been playing for a long time. Action suits me, quite low and fast and the thinnish neck is just right for me. Sorry bout he lack of really tech stuff, bur i buyand play instruments that have good sound, good feel, and the geeky stuff doesn't apply. The fceking (that's the Irish connection) thing works
Sound

Finger picking, some classical style, flat pickin' and just plain get the noise out when the place starts rockin', and in quieter moments blues and soft jazz. The depth of sound is so good the I can play without amps in gigs up to 100, but plug it in and discover the variety of tone and attack using the equaliser on the guitar and the controls on the pa. Great fun, and sometimes it changes the whole song. At last the banjo player has to do some work. One other thing. Every other guitar I've played, either my own or borrowed, begged a lend of etc, After a couple of tunes they seem to do as they are told however carelessly I play them. They can be bullied into sounding as I want them to. Not Takamine. Make a mistake and it lets you know, and everyone else, but play it right and it plays for you. just stand and hold the damn thing and everything comes out right.

Don't know how but they got this one right in the factory. Lowish action, nice an fast. Can't find a thing wromg with it, And my tame technician/guitarbuilder/ repairer took one look and Icould only get itback off him when, well you know when, he was exhausted.

Like I said earlier, I've taken this into very tight and dangerous for delicate things, places and nothing seems to bother it. Realy tough. Holds it tune and tone better than most. With his machine, spare strings, and that'it. And plectra.

Been playing solo and in bands for lots of years. Saw dead heroes play live. (Bolan, Joplin,Hendrix......) played all the usual gear, Eko ,Yam, Martin, (stole a Gibson for a month once, but gave it back when he got parole), even a Dutch built Egmond.the original folding guitar, great sound but you had to retune it every third song. The shop had lots to choose from, so I played them all. The only other one That was any good was an old Gibson (1940ish) great sound etc, and if it had had a pickup i might have been tempted. But he Tak wonout being more versatile. Wish I'd bought something as good as this years ago. It's not always you fault when your playing sounds crap. But a tak and sound as good as youcan. Sorry bout the typing but its a new computer and it han't quite learnt to spell yet.

The tone on this guitar is stunning!! It sounds just as good plugged in which is why this model really shines. I run it through a pendelum pre and the tone is really perfect to my ears. With proper EQ you can make its tone mellow, bright, airy or rich. extremely versatile.

No flaws noted. Factory set up was perfect for me... which is quite unusual.

I always use a back up since strings break. Guitar itself wouldnt require a back up due to the great versatility.

I compare this to none other. Ive owned Martin, Taylor, Alvarez Yairi, Collings, Santa Cruz, Garrison, Larrivee, Guild and Breedlove. This is only a list of my expensive past owns. Ive also owned about a dozen less expensive brands. For the tip of your lifetime, Do not believe that you always get what you pay for in terms of sound quality relative to price. This model sounds better then any guitar Ive played when it is amplified. It sounds as good or slightly worse the all above mentione guitars unplugged. Vey good balance and exceptional value in the Takamine EAN15C

The sound is rich sounding and subtle, especially with the combination of a solid cedar top (which is usually used for classicals) and solid rosewood back. It suits my style of playing very well since I play a variety of styles ranging from Hawaiian slack key (Ki Ho Alu), Appalacian Bluegrass, James Taylor, Leo Kottke, John Fahey, Micheal Hedges, Beatles, and New Age acoustic stylings. For live applications, I usually play through a Roland JC55 amp with 2 8" speakers running with a line out to the PA system and sometimes using a Boss AD-5 processor for added variety. The palathetic pickup is sensitive and easily adjustable to each playing style. It does not have a notch filter so I use a feedback buster over the hole to prevent feedback at high volumes. I like the convenience of the built-in chromatic tuner with the choice of either muting the signal or not into the amp. The 3-band EQ is okay but I feel that you may have a much more natural tone with an Accuracoutic pickup, or even the new Cool Tube pickup that they recently introduced.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
Guitar was setup at medium action from the factory. The truss rod was adjusted to lower the action as much as possible short of buzzing to accomodate my playing style. There weren't any apparent physical flaws and construction was very clean. There was only one small problem that I encountered since playing this guitar - the low E string had a tendency to sound slightly sharp whenever I used a capo, especially with a Kyser and/or Dunlop. However, I found the Shubb capo worked best if you use the least amount of tension over the frets.
Reliability/Durability

This guitar is definitely reliable for almost any live and/or recording situation. The gloss finish and tuners are very good quality. I'm sure the solid woods and finish will age gracefully over time...can't wait till the tone really comes out when it's considered "vintage". I've already played a number of gigs with this guitar without a backup...and feel confident that I wouldn't need a backup for future gigs. This is my third Tak I've owned and all of them were just as reliable.

In my two(2) years of playing this guitar, I've never had to deal with any customer support issues with Kaman music, distributor for Taks and Ovations. So you might say I've been pretty fortunate (knock on wood!)

I've been playing for over 36 years and have owned and played many guitars...including a '69 Martin D41 (German spruce top w/brazilian rosewood sides/back), EF-360S Takamine, Yamaha AEX500N, '69 Gibson B-25, etc. If this guitar were stolen or lost, I would definitely get another one. This guitar is unique because of the cedar top for a steel string guitar. I can see why this is Glenn Fry's(Eagles) guitar of choice. I work for a major music store and play hundreds of other acoustics including Taylors, Tacomas, Lowdens, Larrivees, High-end Gibsons, Bourgeois, etc. In comparison to these other high end acoustics, I feel that this model has a lot of value for the dollar.

This is a Takamine EAN 15 c. Guitar was assembled in Mexico. Has solid tops has EQ/volume controls and a chromatic tuner. Beautiful instrument with sound comparable to any top name brand. Came well set up for playing. Came with hard case, wipe cloth and battery for electronics.

I play rock from hard to soft. This guitar will do nicely for all ranges of rock and , i suspect, any other style it's tested on. Guitar has outstanding balance in the sound both plugged and unplugged. Great low end (better than many Taylors and Martins) and yet it maintains stellar balance in the mid and high ends. Absolutely superior sustain when compared to any dreadnaught cutaway I've played.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Set up to play and if you're a blazer this guitar will do you well. Action is low but not so low as to creat buzzing at any fret. I like the look of the bridge. It is split separating the high E and B from the other four strings. Having only owned this guitar for a week or so, I have yet to discover all it's fine attributes. Finish is bueatiful and blemish free from the factory. Tuning knobs are definitely unique and in a tastefully attractive way. Gold harware. There's no inlays ont he fretboard which I'll have to get used to but this also adds to the uniqueness of this instrument.

This guitar would sound great live and seems like it will hold up to some abuse. I personally don't intend to subject this guitar to any abuse so may never know for sure in this category. I'll rate this instrument well based on the manufacturers reputation and the apparent flawless construction.

Bang for the buck, this instrument rules. I've been playing for seven years (primarily electric). I own a Kramer 7-string and an Schecter 7-string. I spent several months shopping and strumming around to pick what I hope is my final dreadnaught purchase. I looked at Gibson (nothing remarkable), Martin (Great lows questionable lead-style merits), Taylor (the best all-around) and Santa Cruz (also quite nice). I chose the Takamine EAN 15c for the sound (best balance I've heard), appearance, features and price. All the above listed would have cost two grand more to get comparable features and sound. I highly recommend any serious sound shopper check out the higher-end Takamines before paying out the nose. I love Taylors but now I love Takamines too!

I play just about any style of music from oldies to modern. I'm more into that softer acoustic music like John Mayor, Davemathews, Eagles, Beatles, Zepplin, just to name a few. This guitar covers any, or all styles of my taste. The sound is just so full when I strum an open G chord. It has a nice full/rich sound unplugged. Nice sustain. Loud, and good for leads. Plugged in, it sounds just like the guitar itself. Very natual sounding without that electric sound, if you know what I mean. It's the best sounding guitar for the money
Action, Fit, & Finish

The guitar was set for factory settings and did a nice job in doing so. It came with a set-up record that had the listings of what was adjusted. Standard action, not too low nor high which was good for me. Frets were nice and cleaned. Finish is nice and thick and will last until the guitar dies, however there was a rough spot if you run your finger along the binding of the guitar, but doesn't effect the appearance. Everything was properly well done, centered and finished. What a beaty!
Reliability/Durability

This guitar is invicible. It can stand normal play and a little abuse from time to time. Like I said they put a heavy coat of laquer for the finish and will last. The hardware is high quality, and like the fact that the tunning pegs have amber buttons so you won't notice the ware like of some standard buttons. The tunning pegs they put on here are high quality "Gotoh" that are smooth and keep the tunning on the spot. It really is a beautiful guitar, one of my nicest ones I have. I never took it on a gig before, but trust Takamine's name. I would definetly take it on a gig, but I will always bring a backup no matter how good or expensive the instrument is.

I've only been playing for 4 years and just broke up with my band and trying to start another one. Right now, I own 7 guitars; PRS "santana SE", Jay Tuser electric, Dean Bass, Hohner D-2 martin copy, Ovation Celebrity, and Alvarez 12 string, and now this Takamine to add to my collection. I don't want to end up with too many guitars, but want to keep what I really play the most. I'm selling my ovation clebrity, and my 12 string to make up the money I spent of the takamine. So far this is the best guitar that I own out of my three acoustics. This guitar was supposed to be an upgrade from my ovation Celebrity, and boy what an ungrade! I was getting tired of that ovation sound, and wanted something more natural sounding.
I compared this guitar to Martins, Gibsons, Larrivees, and even some Taylors. This guitar had exactly what I was looking for. I'm very picky when it comes to choosing a guitar, something that looks good, sounds good, features, and a reasonable price. I was thinking of getting a Talyor before looking at this, but the taylor didn't have the features I was looking for. The Fishman preamp is nice, but the Takamine featured a built in tuner and sounded just as nice as the Taylor. The Martins too, had almost the same, but had an satin finish and a fishman pick, but no tuner. It was even more expensive. It didn't sound as good as the Tak, nor looked good. The Gibsons I didn't bother to look at b/c I know your just paying for that name and doesn't feature alot. The Larrivees came the closest to the takamine, but had a satin finish and didn't look as good, or had a built in turner. It sounded just as good as the Takamine though.
If this guitar was stolen, heck yeah I'll by another one, be stupid not too. This guitar had everything and I mean EVERYTHING I was looking for, for a non threatening price. For those of you who are looking for a great guitar for the money and features alot for what you paid for, play a takamine supernatural series. Trust me these guitars are no joke.

I play mostly blues/folk/rock....whatever mood i'm in...
Fits 'em all perfect
The guitar just sparkles. I have a Martin DC16RGTE that I bought prior to obtaining a job at KAMAN Music (Tak, Ovation, Hamer's distributor) and they balance each other perfect...
The Tak though is getting much more attention..
Like I said, fast fast neck and beautiful sound...
I checked out some taylor's and whatnot but this just fit me perfect.
Sound is just amazing.

The guitar was set-up with the action really really low...a little too low for me to the point of some fret buzz...
But with the help of our guitar tech over at Kaman the guitar was pristine...FYI-the tech over at KAMAN is a genius....
FInish was perfect.

Like I said Kaman is unbelieveable with their customer service...I work for the company and know all the CSR reps and they accommodate just about everything that IS a WARRANTY ISSUE.
Here's what I mean: If you take care of your guitar, humidify, storage, and cleanliness, you should be ok...
But, in the case that your guitar is cracked and you claim to not know why its cracked and its not a claim issue(maybe loose bracing), its NOT a warranty claim. If you park your car and go into a store, come back and there's a huge dent in the side, would you go back to the dealership and say fix this for free??? NO!!!!

However, there are those of you who swear by Martin/Taylor or whatever, just go try and Tak and you'll see what i mean. Not sure what you like? Check out Kamanmusic.com
Just about everything informationally accessable right there.
Trust me-Tak Pro-line's are no joke.
