I mention what I think at the end of this survey!

Sound : 7
Sounds good only when it is amplified!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Good action, bridge and great finish.

Reliability/Durability : 5
The sound is ok. I use it almost every night for my job!
Hardware is good.
Varnish is very delicate!
Frets are too soft. They will get bad very soon.
I think I will change it as soon as my seasonal job ends!

Nothing to say in here!

Overall Rating : 4
I bought this guitar this February 2007.
The batteries last one week only! This is so bad!
I can't even touch the valve knob coz the guitar would start an unstoppable Larsen effect! So bad!
The frets will last maximum 1 and half year, and then you will have to go to rectify them!
Not sure if I did a good buy!

This is a 2003 Model. It has a solid cedar top and rosewood back and sides. NEX body style. Japanese made (before Takamine moved much of their production to Korea). I have not seen these sold in U.S. since I bought mine.

Gloss finish and good attention to detail. Has the Graphic-EQ Electronics with bass, mid and treble controls as well as Exciter and volume.

Pull through bridge is nice for changing strings. Came with the molded fiberglass Takamine case.

Sound : 8
Good tone. Sounds best amped. I use mine thru an Ultasound AG50DS2 amp. At church I go thru the amp then into the PA.

This guitar is better plugged in than unpluged. I play acoustic fingerstyle/folk/Contemporary Christian.

Preamp and pick up are very quiet. Sound can be somewhat Tinny but projects well and can be shaped easily. Realize that I'm comparing this to my Taylor 514ce which is 2x the money and for a reason.

This is a very good overall guitar. One of Takamine's better models.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action is great. About as good as an electric. The neck is thin and fast, almost feels liek an electric. Woods are fine, they all seem well matched. The top is a solid one piece.

Fit and finish are good. Attention to detail is evident.

Tuning knobs tend to loosen, but can be tightened easily.

Reliability/Durability : 8
A very reliableguitar. I've had absolutely no problems or issues. A very solid made guitar. I gig with it at church and local coffee houses and have had no problems or suprises.

I use it as a back up to my Taylor. I mostly use it when I am playing in alternate tunigs and need to change between multiple tunings quickly.

Purchased in Nov 2003 from a friend who bought it in August 2003 then decided to get a McIlroy A25C. He cut me a great deal. They sold new for over $1200. I got this 3 month old guitar with case for $750.

A solid built guitar that has good tone and sound. Not the best on the block but decent for the money. Probably the best from the Takamine line. This is their challenge to similar low end Taylor/Martin models.

Takamine's are used by country and rock musicians (Bruce Springsteen, Nils Lofgren, Glen Frey, and many others) due to the fact that they are durable, sturdy and have a excellent live sound. Sound engineers like them because they are easy to mix and have a very predictable tone and sound. Overall, a very good quality guitar for the money.

I've been playing off and on for nearly 30 years. I play and record my Takamine and my Taylor 514ce thru an Ultrasound AG50DS2 amp with various effects. I've gotten some fine tone and sound with my Takamine.

This is one of the amazing guitars from Takamine (Japan) before they moved to Korea. It is a NEX body type, you can get all the specs online from www.takamine.com. This guitar features rosewood back and sides and select solid cedar top. Tuners are beautiful dark brown design. beautiful pearl inlay around the sound whole. I got mine with a top of the line Case, but you have to pay extra for that usually. It has the Graph-ex pre-amp in it which has won many awards on its own

Sound : 10
The sound hear is what took me by surprise. I have played taylors, Martins and Gigson guitars, and for live performance I would use this one in a heart beat. It has a very balanced sound with a surprising bass/mid rage and a crisp bright high end. It is not like my old Gibson wich is more boomy and used for picking, but for over all sound this is one of the best Takamine guitars I have played. When shopping for a taylor with a friend of mine I played all they had to offer and still came home to my ean-45c and was taken back by it's sound

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
ACTION - AWESOME - it is as low as a electric guitar, with no buzzing no noice. guitar had no flaws in workmanship everylittle detail from the trim to the bindings was done to perfection

Reliability/Durability : 9
Very durable and small enough to not weigh you down. The first time I played this guitar as I led worship at our church people came up and said something sounded so beautiful--- they saw it as the new guitar

I have been playing 10 years. I have a Gibson j-60, Fender Strat, ROdriguez classical, Cort 12-string-jumbo. Have owned a Martin in the past, but was dissappointed in where the company is going with there guitar making. If it were stolen I would be lost because I have never found this special guitar on ebay, nor at any store online - or local. one stor I saw is selling it on sale for 1300.00$ !!!! I got a deal
